Suspended ceiling using various materials. How to hem a wooden ceiling in a private house Hem a ceiling with a board in a private house

  • 16.06.2019

The concept of a draft ceiling denotes a structural element, usually an interfloor ceiling, laid down by builders during the construction of a building.

Of course, that the version of such a ceiling differs depending on the type of building. In particular, in brick houses this function is performed by concrete slabs, which, when finishing, require only the application of a decorative layer.

Design wooden houses looks a little more complicated. Here, a rough ceiling is laid on wooden beams, often using boards. The work is simple and quite feasible on your own.

Design features

Before engaging in the arrangement of interfloor ceilings, it is necessary to understand general principle construction of these building elements. V in general terms ceiling in wooden house is a multi-layer construction, where each layer performs a specific function.

It looks like this:

  • the draft ceiling serves as the basis for the rest of the building materials, is made of boards or wood boards, plywood, is subjected to finishing;
  • waterproofing is designed to protect wood from exposure to a humid environment;
  • insulation is required in cases where an unheated room is located on top, helps prevent heat loss from living rooms, helps to reduce heating costs in winter;
  • vapor barrier makes the floor pie breathable, prevents the formation of condensate on internal surfaces;
  • the floor can be equipped in a draft version for subsequent finishing, if the attic is non-residential, it is left in its original form.

The number of layers may vary depending on the purpose and climatic features of the region. In any case, this design rests on transverse joists, complemented by cranial beams.

Preparatory stage

In most cases, beams are the basis for interfloor floors in wooden houses. They are installed with their ends on the supporting elements of the structure, they are easily amenable to additional processing. In addition, such a base can perform not only a supporting, but also a decorative function. In particular, if the filing of the ceiling along wooden beams is performed from above, the beam becomes part of the interior decor of the premises.

If we talk about the tools that may be required when performing work, they are prepared according to the list:

  • jigsaw;
  • screwdriver;
  • drill with a set of drills for wood;
  • hammer;
  • fasteners (corners, screws, nails);
  • stapler;
  • pencil;
  • tape measure and building level.

In addition, gloves and goggles are required. If mineral wool is supposed to be used as a heater, it makes sense to take care of a respirator.

Materials for filing a draft ceiling

You can hem the draft ceiling with various building materials, but here you need to take into account the specifics of using the room.

Drywall. This is one of the most popular and sought-after materials in the construction market. GLC attracts attention with its practicality and affordable price, however, the sheets are very sensitive to a humid environment, therefore, if we are talking about damp and unheated rooms, you need to choose a material with a moisture-resistant coating. Drywall is installed on a metal profile frame or glued directly to the base.

PVC panels. A versatile material that blends seamlessly into any interior. The advantage of plastic is its neutrality to any external environment, in addition, due to its low weight, it does not create additional load on the supporting structures and the base. The only downside: low stability to mechanical damage, but, given the fact that we are talking about finishing the ceiling, you can not focus on this nuance. The panels are mounted with a stapler on the prepared frame or glued with liquid nails. The second option is used in cases where the base forms an ideal flat surface.

Clapboard. A beautiful, but relatively expensive way to sheathe a draft ceiling. Reiki can be installed on a base or a pre-prepared frame. For fastening, self-tapping screws or thin nails without caps are used.

MDF. Plastic panels that subtly imitate natural surfaces: stone, plaster, wood. Given that the material is of artificial origin, it can be used even in rooms with increased level humidity, such as kitchens or baths. MDF panels are fastened to the frame using clamps (special fixing brackets), which securely press the edge of the panel to the base.

Plywood. Inexpensive and practical finishing material, which after installation forms an almost perfectly flat surface, which greatly simplifies the process of finishing. In order for plywood to serve for a long time, it is pre-treated with antiseptic compounds.

Board . A fairly common version of filing a draft ceiling. As in the previous case, the building material is treated with an antiseptic, the evenness of the sides does not play a special role here: the surface will be covered with a finish coating.

When choosing a material, you need to be guided not only by cost, but also technical specifications. For example, any products made of plastic, PVC and MDF have low thermal insulation properties, so during installation it will be necessary to lay a thick layer of insulation. Drywall gets wet when exposed to moisture for a long time, and even a water-repellent coating is not able to solve this problem. Softwood boards are not suitable for filing a draft ceiling in baths: when heated, the lumber will release resin, which is not very good in terms of fire safety.

Hemming the rough ceiling with a board

A rough board ceiling is one of the most common initial finishes. The attraction of using lumber is that it does not require preparatory work and can be nailed directly to floor beams.

Ideally, the lumber should be placed close together, maintaining a minimum distance between them. This will create a reliable base that, if necessary, can withstand even heavy plaster or stucco. If this option looks expensive, the skin elements can be fastened while maintaining an interval of 30–40 cm.

If floor beams are planned as decorative design, boards are nailed not from below, but from above. In this case, you can do without additional finishing. This will require even lumber, which will be laid end-to-end, without gaps. After that, the finished ceiling is covered with several layers of varnish to emphasize the natural beauty and texture of wood.

If you work alone

It is difficult to find a good assistant, so sometimes the builder has a question about how to hem the ceiling with boards alone. In general, the principle of filing a draft ceiling remains unchanged, but here you will have to choose building materials more meticulously. In particular, when working alone, it is better to give preference to lightweight materials that can be easily held on their own, such as PVC panels or MDF. If it is supposed to be filed with a board, then it is better to lay lumber on top of the beams of interfloor ceilings.

It is noteworthy that you can also attach the boards to the bottom, but here you will have to use homemade spacers that will support one end of the board, replacing the missing assistant. You can also use various hooks, on which one end of the board is hung until it is fixed.

Hemming the draft ceiling with plywood

Here, the work will be carried out according to a slightly different principle. In particular, plywood has a low resistance to stress. If the sheets are simply fastened between the beams, they are guaranteed to burst, damaging the finish.

Therefore, plywood filing is performed according to the following scheme:

  • a waterproofing membrane is attached to beams or lags;
  • on top, a frame is made of a wooden bar of a small section;
  • then plywood is installed.

Considering that the installation is supposed to be on a frame base, it will not work to glue the sheets, they are screwed with self-tapping screws or nailed with thin nails. After that, the structure is insulated and finished.

A few words about insulation

After filing the draft ceiling, the waterproofing film is laid. After that, the installation of the heater is carried out. This function can be performed by ordinary sawdust or expanded clay, which fills the free space between the beams. Styrofoam is considered a good option for insulation, which not only provides reliable thermal insulation, but also does not attract harmful insects.

A rough floor is laid on top of the insulation. At the final stage, finishing is performed. If the floor pie is made correctly, any materials can be used for finishing, the risk of damage and deformation is minimal.

In most apartments and houses, floors and roofs are made of reinforced concrete, but there are also structures with wooden beams. Therefore, when repairs begin, homeowners have a question about how to sheathe them so that the surface acquires a modern and stylish look. To date, there are many design ideas, thanks to which you can decorate the ceiling in an original way, giving it a beautiful configuration.

Sheathing work is not particularly difficult, it is easy to do it yourself, using various finishing materials for this. To do this, it is enough to develop an individual project, choose the desired design style and perform filing, after which the room will be transformed and filled with comfort.

Peculiarities

Ceiling filing on wooden beams is very popular in a modern interior, as it allows you to create modern designs that harmoniously fit into any design.

Main Feature such ceilings are considered to be composed of several layers.

  • Support beams. They form the basis, are placed on the surface of the ceiling at a certain distance and are attached to each other with a beam.
  • Attic floor. It is a flooring made of wooden boards that separates the roof from the floors.
  • Insulation. As thermal insulation, polyurethane foam, mineral wool and polystyrene are most often used. This layer of construction protects the room from cold air currents that can penetrate through the roof or interfloor ceilings.

  • Vapor barrier. It is laid in order to prevent the accumulation of condensate and create an optimal microclimate in the room.
  • Black ceiling. It is a coating that is attached to the crate; OSB boards, boards or plywood sheets are used as a finishing material for sheathing. The crate, as a rule, is made of slats. After the installation of the draft ceiling, a decorative cladding is performed, with the help of which the coating is either completely sewn up, or the beams are simply hidden.

It is worth noting that the method of filing the ceiling is selected depending on the height of the premises: if the rooms are small, then it is not recommended to mount multi-level and complex structures in them.

Scope of application

Wooden floors from beams are found both in old-plan apartments and in many country houses. They are usually placed around the perimeter of the room and are made of inexpensive wood. At the same time, in countryside you can even see logs in the form of round timber. Beams in the structure perform not only the role of load-bearing elements, but are often the basis of the ceiling. If you think over the design correctly, then they can be turned into a wonderful element of decor.

The ceiling in outbuildings and garages is recommended to be hemmed with OSB boards or ordinary boards.

When making a design in a private house, both lining and drywall are suitable, which can be covered with plaster or painted in subsequent finishing.

In the rooms of the apartment ideal option for decoration will be a material made of natural solid wood, it will give the interior a special chic and fill the space with a pleasant aroma of wood. In residential areas, you can hide the beams under the hinged structures.

On the terrace, veranda, in the bathrooms, you can hem the ceiling with any decorative panels, but it is best to give preference to products that are not afraid of moisture and temperature changes. As for the filing of the ceiling on the balcony, plastic profiles are usually used for it, they are well attached to the beams and endure any climatic conditions. This type of decoration is also used in baths. In this case, wooden beams are completely hidden under the lining.

As for office space and public buildings, then their ceilings are equipped with modular systems. They are easy to install, look beautiful, but are not suitable for home design.

Regardless of the scope, the false ceiling must be insulated and protected from moisture and steam. Therefore, a hydro-barrier is installed between the main and hemmed floors and mineral wool thermal insulation is laid.

materials

You can hem the ceiling on wooden beams with various materials. Designs that combine original finishes from several panels look beautiful, as a result, the coating is completely or partially even. Such a surface can be additionally pasted over with foam tiles, textured wallpaper or painted with paint.

In addition, in modern design, a variety of materials are used for ceiling cladding.

  • Fiberboard. The sheets of the product are cut in such a way that their end parts are placed in the middle of the beam. The fiberboard is attached to the structure using wooden beams 20 × 40 mm in size or fixed with special lags. To do this, recesses are cut out in the boards and an additional corner or beam is inserted. With this type of finish, it is important to ensure that the fiberboard panels do not sag. Therefore, they are nailed and laid with a seam offset or in a checkerboard pattern.
  • Plywood. If the texture of wood is not important for the interior of the room, then the ceilings are sheathed with plywood, it is attracted with self-tapping screws and nailed. In this case, you need to pay attention to the thickness of the beams, since this material is heavy. The thickness of the sheets is chosen depending on the distance between the lags. At the end of the sheathing, the seams are sealed with putty on wood or mastic. Then the surface is well primed and covered with a finish.
  • OSB boards(OSP). This material is considered inexpensive, easy to install and well amenable to processing. OSB slabs can be sheathed in ceilings in any room. The only drawback of the product is the presence of resin in its composition, but if the material is made of high quality, then during its operation the emission of formaldehyde will be small. The plates are assembled quickly, since in their design they are similar to lining and have special grooves. After such sheathing, the ceilings acquire a smooth and seamless surface.
  • Drywall. It is the most common surface cladding material and can be easily attached to both wood and aluminum frames. With it, you can create beautiful multi-level systems or simply insert between wooden beams. After installing drywall, it is necessary to seal all joints, for this a special construction mesh is applied and covered with putty.

OSB boards

Drywall

  • Sandwich panels. They are an excellent insulation, which is easily joined using a special connection. The panels are screwed to the beams with self-tapping screws, after which they are painted. The material is available with a matte and glossy surface, does not require additional processing. They can either completely cover the ceiling, or make separate inserts vertically or horizontally.
  • Wooden lining . It is one of the most popular types of material that looks beautiful in the cladding of private houses, a wood product is environmentally friendly and has a pleasant aroma. The ceiling decorated with a board maintains a certain microclimate in the room, absorbs excess moisture. If you install such a structure correctly, it will last for many years and act as good sound and heat insulation. Most often, lining of cedar, alder, pine and oak is chosen for ceiling cladding. Its width is from 30 mm to 150 mm, and the length can reach six meters. Of course, such sheathing is considered expensive, since, in addition to installation, the boards need to be additionally varnished, which, when dried, creates protective film and makes the coating resistant to moisture.

With the help of varnish, the ceiling can be given both a matte and glossy surface. The lining is installed using a system consisting of a ridge and a groove. Boards need to be fixed at an angle of 45 degrees. Usually for sheathing choose edged board 25 mm thick, it allows you to close the entire length of the ceiling and does not create gaps.

Sandwich panels

Wooden lining

  • Tension system. As a rule, such structures are mounted after the completion of all finishing work. You can install the ceiling with your own hands, since installation does not require special tools and equipment. In order to fix the "French" ceiling, you only need to prepare a building hair dryer, a spatula and choose a canvas by texture and color. In addition, it is recommended to warm up the room well before starting work. Such designs look great in the interior and allow you to hide wooden beams in an original way, which often do not fit into the image of modern design.

  • Plastic panels. Outwardly, they resemble the type of lining, they are produced in widths from 50 mm to 100 mm. The ceiling sheathed with plastic has seams, so it is often called slatted. For finishing, you need to choose panels with a thin wall, they are much easier to attach to the frame and, if necessary, can be easily removed. In addition, such a sheathing does not require the installation of a massive frame. Usually, white plastic 25 cm wide is used for work, it is fixed to the beams with a stapler. If desired, you can use panels of various colors and textures, as the material is produced with a matte, glossy surface, as well as with imitation of wood and stone. As a rule, plastic panels are installed in bathrooms and kitchens, where high humidity does not allow the use of other types of materials.

In addition, plastic can be sheathed not only in living quarters, but also in the ceilings on the terrace, veranda or in the garage. They are easy to clean with soapy water, do not fade in the sun and ennoble wooden beams in an original way.

  • Siding. This material is ideally combined with any type of finish, so it allows designers to translate various ideas into reality. With siding it is possible to sheathe both suspended ceilings in residential premises, and to hide wooden beam structures on a terrace, balcony or veranda.

Installation

It is quite possible to sheathe the ceiling on wooden beams with your own hands. To do this, you first need to prepare all the tools, material for finishing, as well as glue and mixtures for woodworking. In the event that the beams will act as the basis for the floor, they should be carefully checked for the presence of fungus and mold. If there are defects, then the logs must be treated with an antiseptic solution, and cracks and chips must be puttied.

After the completion of the preparatory work, you can perform the installation, which consists of several stages.

  • First of all, you should create a vapor barrier and close the beams. This is best done with polyethylene film or parchment, which are easily attached with a stapler. Then the logs should be lined with any draft material, most often a cut board is used for such purposes. If the ceiling turned out to be crooked, and the floors have differences in levels, it needs to be leveled.
  • The next step in the work will be laying thermal insulation., it will keep the heat in the room and will not let cold air flows from the roof or interfloor ceiling. This is especially true for the cladding of the first floor in apartments. Mineral wool or polystyrene is used as a heater.

Expanded clay can also be laid, but it will require concrete tightening on an aerated concrete base.

  • After installing the thermal insulation, they are additionally laid vapor barrier layer. To date, there are many materials with which it is possible to provide structures with natural air exchange, but membrane polyethylene is considered the main one.
  • The final stage is draft base device. The coating is sheathed with plywood or profiled sheet.

In the event that work is carried out in a private house, then finishing should be done, taking into account functional purpose attic. In many buildings, it can serve as a residential attic, or simply act as a non-residential space. For an attic that will accommodate a full-fledged room, it is necessary to add aluminum foil to the floor layer, it will help to avoid heat loss in the house. In addition, when decorating the attic, a layer of sound insulation is laid, consisting of sawdust and mineral wool.

The boards that are used for sheathing the log are fastened with long nails and hammered by surprise, they should be laid tightly, leaving no gaps.

Much depends on the condition of the ceiling. appearance housing and its microclimate. If you properly equip the rough ceiling on wooden beams, you can get a presentable and warm surface. Depending on the technology by which the house was built, apply various ways ceiling repair and fabrication. We will consider the sequence of work for various options ceiling construction.

Work in a wooden house

Previously, wooden houses were built in 1-2 floors. To create a ceiling between floors or a roof, wooden beams were used. From above, the beams were sheathed with a floorboard. From below, the ceiling of the beams was upholstered with a lath and plastered. This type of finish is short-lived, as the wood ceiling bends, causing cracks and the destruction of the plaster. Application modern materials allows you to create a strong and durable coating, characterized by high aesthetic qualities. In order to carry out the installation of a new ceiling, it is necessary to get rid of the old coating and prepare the base for work.

This event is held in the following sequence:

  1. All furniture, curtains and paintings are taken out of the room. Disconnect lighting fixtures. The bare ends of the wiring are insulated.
  2. All fights back old plaster. This is done with a hammer, chisel and nail puller.
  3. The railing is detached. You can use brute force, so this material will be recycled.
  4. The insulation is removed and thrown away, which has lost its qualities over the years of operation. It must be immediately packed in plastic bags to prevent clogging of the housing and the area with small fibers.
  5. Beams are cleaned of debris, dust, mold and mildew. You can use a grinder with a stiff brush and sandpaper. After cleaning, the beams are treated with antiseptic and hydrophobic preparations.

When all unnecessary is removed, you need to check the condition of the wiring. If it is worn out, it is better to replace it.

After the base for work is cleared, the rough ceiling is equipped.

It is done like this:

  1. Waterproofing is in progress. A special membrane type film is fixed between the beams. The joints between the strips of the film are hermetically sealed with adhesive tape.
  2. Insulation is placed between the beams. You can use basalt wool or foam. They fit in such a way that there are no gaps.
  3. Another layer of vapor-permeable material is fixed on top of the insulation. The film is attached to the supports with staples.
  4. Raw boards are screwed to wooden beams. They will be the basis for a fine finish.

After fixing the draft ceiling, the wires are brought out, the cladding is being installed. Read about how to hem the ceiling in the final section.

Draft ceiling on reinforced concrete slab

Floor slabs do not always have a perfectly flat surface. This is especially true for houses that were built several decades ago. Concrete plates severely deformed and bent. In typical five-story houses, the ceiling can be made of several slabs with significant differences in height. In order to create a smooth and presentable surface, it is necessary to carry out a large amount of preparatory work.

You can prepare a concrete ceiling for leveling in this way:

  1. All surfaces are removed old finish- wallpaper, tiles and plaster. The seams between the ceiling tiles are cleaned and wall panels. They are sealed with cement mortar.
  2. The gaps between the panels are cleared of cement chips. They are filled with sealant or mounting foam.
  3. The entire surface of the ceiling plate is coated with a primer. To achieve the desired effect, this process is carried out 2-3 times.

In order for the primer to dry completely, it takes at least a day. After that, you can continue to work.

The draft ceiling for concrete is equipped as follows:

  1. Beacons are displayed. You can use plastic dowels and screws. The alignment is checked by the level.
  2. A solution of starting putty is applied. This is done with a wide spatula or a rule. The choice of tool depends on the degree of curvature of the floor slab.
  3. The starting putty is covered with a liquid primer.

The work on creating the basis for the fine finish is completed. After that, the ceiling can be painted, pasted over with wallpaper or tiles.

How can you hem the ceiling

The interior and style of the room largely depends on the material with which the draft ceiling will be closed. In addition, you should take into account the features of the place of repair.

You can hem the ceiling with such materials:

  1. Drywall. GKL has an affordable cost and is quite simple to use. On the draft ceiling, it is glued or screwed to a spatial frame made of steel profile. It should be borne in mind that in damp rooms only moisture-resistant drywall should be installed. External putty of the assembled surface is required.
  2. plastic panels. These products have a presentable surface and low weight. As a rule, they are fixed on a frame made of timber, steel or plastic profile. If the base is well leveled, then the panels are glued to it with liquid nails.
  3. Wooden lining. This type of finish has a pleasant and beautiful appearance, environmentally friendly and durable. Reiki can be attached both to a solid base and to a frame. Fixation is carried out using thin nails without a hat or self-tapping screws.
  4. MDF panels. The front part of these products can imitate wood, natural stone, sky or plants. Fastening is carried out with the help of special clamps (kleimers), which press the edge of the rails to the base or frame.
  5. Plywood. Before installation, plywood sheets must be treated with an antiseptic and a primer. If the installation is carried out on the frame, then the joints of the sheets should be on its guides. After installation, seams are sealed and painted.
  6. Siding. Plastic siding is an ideal material for finishing non-residential and damp areas, such as bathrooms, summer kitchens, garages and balconies. Installation of this cover is quite simple and does not take much time.

In wooden houses, the ceiling is made of beams. In such rooms, it is necessary to install a draft ceiling, along which the final finishing will be carried out. Proper arrangement of it will allow you to get a warm and presentable ceiling. This procedure can be completely do it yourself, you just need to have basic woodworking skills and a basic set of tools. Our detailed instructions will help you independently make and sheathe a rough surface in a country house.

Floor device in a wooden house

Before building draft ceiling on wooden beams, it is necessary to understand how the interfloor overlap is arranged. It consists of several layers - each of them performs a specific role.

Consider its basic scheme:

  1. Plank floor - if there is another floor above. It can be rough or fine, as well as for finishing.
  2. Vapor barrier - reduces heat loss, eliminates the appearance of mold, fungus, increases the life of roofing materials. It is necessary to obtain a high-quality overlap, but this layer can be skipped (if not necessary).
  3. Insulation - allows you to keep warm in the room. It is necessary if an unheated attic, roof is located on top.
  4. Waterproofing - membrane type film, protects wooden surface from moisture.
  5. Draft ceiling - without it, the final finish is simply impossible. It is a support for all previous layers.

When the interfloor overlap is completely finished, you can proceed to its sheathing. For this, various types of materials are used, which we will discuss later.

Draft ceiling construction

This stage of work is simple and can be performed do it yourself. Hem ceiling with beams can be boards or plywood.

Boardwalk

Consider the process of building a rough ceiling from boards. For this you will need the following materials:

  • edged or tongue-and-groove boards - 25 mm thickness will be enough;
  • nails 70 mm or self-tapping screws up to 55 mm.

Since the rough ceiling involves finishing, the appearance of the boards is not very important, the main requirement is that they must be strong and even. Save on the quality of materials should not be.

Pre-determine the required number of boards and cut them to the desired size. Accuracy in this case is important - to avoid inconsistencies (gaps or cracks may remain).

The work is carried out in several stages:

  1. A board is attached to each log using self-tapping screws or nails in a spacer (at an angle of 45 degrees to the edge). Sheet pile boards fixed with a groove from the wall.
  2. The tree is covered with impregnation - fire-fighting and antiseptic.
  3. On top of the boards, insulation and waterproofing are attached.

The location of the boards below the beams is a convenient and practical way. However, in this case, access to the logs is closed by a plank floor, and if necessary, it will be difficult to get to them.

Alternative ceiling

There is another option for attaching boards - over the lags. He assumes that wood beam ceiling is a design approach - they act as a decorative element. Such a design can look advantageous in Provence, country, Mediterranean styles - when you need to create a textured, stylish and somewhat serious interior.

As an element of decoration, you can use the so-called false plasterboard beams - they are puttied on the ceiling, which allows you to imitate the look of wooden elements, to give the surface a different texture.

Plywood

Draft ceiling filing on wooden beams can be made from plywood. In this case, a properly assembled crate is important, on which plywood sheets will be attached.

Work order:

  • A vapor barrier membrane is shot to the beams.
  • A frame is made (metal or from a bar) - this is the basis for plywood sheets and additional support for insulation.
  • Plywood is attached to the resulting crate.
  • The heater is installed.

Let's take a closer look at the last step.

Ceiling insulation

It is important to properly insulate beam ceiling. The material must meet the following requirements:

  • fire safety;
  • low thermal conductivity;
  • good sound insulation;
  • light weight.

The whole variety of heaters can be divided into polymeric and combined, organic and inorganic.

Polymer- Lightweight, durable and inexpensive. However, these materials are flammable and can be destroyed under the influence of temperature surges. It can be foam, polyurethane foam or polystyrene foam.

organic- environmentally friendly and inexpensive, but over time, their thermal insulation properties are reduced, flammable. These include straw, peat, sawdust.

Inorganic- Differ in high weight and low thermal insulation. Their use is justified if reinforced wooden beams on the ceiling having a continuous lining. These are expanded clay, perlite, vermiculite, mineral wool. The latter is the most popular among specialists, as it has the best consumer properties.

Depending on the presence of flooring at the upper level, insulation can be made from above or below.

In the absence of flooring work is built in the following sequence:

  1. A vapor barrier is being installed. To do this, a special membrane film is spread over the entire surface of the ceiling, tightly pressed against the beams and the rough filing. An overlap is left on the walls - about 10 cm. It is fixed with a stapler.
  2. Insulation is spreading - it should form an even layer with beams.
  3. The insulation is covered with a waterproofing film.

With flooring it will not work to insulate the ceiling from above, but this can be done from the side of the living room. Sequence of work:

  1. Waterproofing is fixed - on the flooring and beams.
  2. The twine is stretched in a zigzag - on nails driven into the beams.
  3. The insulation is laid between the beams in such a way that the threads hold the material well.
  4. A vapor barrier is being installed.

After completion of the insulation work, the ceiling surface is covered with drywall or other selected material.

Finishing

When the draft ceiling is ready, you can proceed to the final stage - fine finishing. It can be made with various materials. Consider the most popular options.

Drywall

Such a design can be suspension and hemmed, have several levels. Because wooden ceiling with beams somewhat mobile (the tree "breathes"), this material is easily deformed. A two-tier frame will help prevent this problem.

Stages of work:

  1. Bearing profiles are attached to the lags - this requires special quick hangers. They allow you to create a small backlash.
  2. The second tier of bearing profiles is mounted on the first row using two-level connectors. They provide a slight offset of the profiles in relation to each other. The second row is attached with a damper tape to the walls.

The resulting frame is movable - the upper plane can move up and down by a few millimeters, while the lower one remains stationary.

  1. Drywall is attached to the frame.
  2. The surface is putty.

The advantage of using drywall sheets is ease of implementation installation work and low material cost.

For rooms with a difficult microclimate (for example, if the house is damp), opt for more expensive moisture-resistant drywall.

Plastic panels

They are lightweight and presentable. Attached to a pre-built ceiling frame (made of steel or plastic profile, timber). For installation, you can use liquid nails.

Clapboard and slatted ceiling

This type of finish is durable, environmentally friendly and has a pleasant appearance. They are attached to the rough coating using a wooden crate; self-tapping screws and thin nails can be used for fixing.

Stretch ceiling

The advantage of this choice is that work can be done immediately after the construction of the house, without waiting for it to shrink. Stretch ceiling due to the peculiarities of their design, they easily compensate for possible deformations of the floor. A canvas made of PVC film or a special fabric is fixed to the walls with the help of baguettes.

The choice of the final finish of the ceiling is a matter of individual preferences, and also depends on the purpose of the room. If you decide to produce construction works do it yourself, appreciate the simplicity self-assembly material. In this matter, the undoubted leader is drywall.

The quality of the rough ceiling on wooden beams directly affects the strength of the entire structure, so haste and carelessness in this matter are unacceptable. The whole process, up to the finishing sheathing, can be done independently. Carefully read the above recommendations, stock up on the necessary set of tools and materials, add a little patience and go for it.

How to hem the ceiling in a private house, a bathhouse, a garage, in a country house or a veranda is not an idle question, because after the completion of construction there remains an ugly rough ceiling, that is, just a wooden floor made of bare beams and boards. But after all, without a high-quality ceiling, the finish, even in the utility room, cannot be considered complete, and filing is an easy way to give the ceiling aesthetics, and at the same time to insulate.

Important. False ceiling should be distinguished from suspended. Between the suspended and the ceiling, 8–10 cm of empty space is left, while the hemmed one is mounted almost close to the ceiling.

False ceiling installation rules

  1. Unlike concrete ceilings in a city apartment, wooden ceilings in a country house or in a country house can be hemmed with almost any material, and the beams can be beautifully beaten in the interior.
  2. Before starting work, the draft structure must be insulated and its air conditioning should be considered.
  3. The ideal material for the bathroom is plastic, because it does not mold or rot at all.
  4. Balconies are most often sheathed with plastic, metal slats or clapboard, because these materials are resistant to temperature extremes.
  5. Open verandas, gazebos, terraces are sheathed with plastic or siding, rack and cassette structures are suitable. Due to low moisture resistance, drywall is not suitable.
  6. The bath requires a moisture-resistant and heat-resistant finish. It is impossible to use resinous wood, plywood, chipboard, plastic in the bath. by the most good choice there will be a lining made of linden or aspen.
Draft ceiling before finishing

How to hem a ceiling

Tree

This is the best finishing material. country house. Among its advantages are enviable durability, the ability to retain heat, beauty, the ability to give the room comfort and create a special microclimate. The materials of this group vary greatly in cost, so you can always pick up something for both budget and elite repairs.

Plywood filing requires knowledge of some nuances. Plywood (except laminated) must be treated with an antiseptic, only then it will last for decades. The frame is made of a bar, and in such a way that the edges of the sheets fall on the bar, otherwise they will sag. The sheets are fixed to the frame with self-tapping screws, the seams are puttied before painting the ceiling.

Inexpensive lining has always been a popular material for sheathing. The frame for fixing ordinary and eurolining can be made from a metal profile or a bar. The frame is installed perpendicular to the direction of the lining. The lining itself must first be allowed to mature in the room for at least 48 hours, otherwise there is a risk that it will dry out or swell.

This is the most unpretentious way to hem the ceiling. The frame is not needed, the boards are nailed immediately to the beams, perpendicular to them.

Ordinary boards can be amazingly good

From woodworking waste, excellent finishing materials are produced in the form of slabs and panels, all of which can be used to finish the ceiling in a private house. OSB panels, fiberboard and MDF boards have excellent thermal insulation properties and are beautiful. Thanks to double or single-sided lamination, they are easy to care for - just wipe them from dust. In terms of texture and color, plates and panels imitate natural wood but are much cheaper.

They weigh a little, this allows you to install simple lightweight frames under them. Mounted on a pre-installed frame made of wooden beams. As in the case of plywood sheets, the joints should fall on the bar. Each slab is first nailed in the center and in the corners, then along the perimeter and in other places. The sheets have a large area, while they are flexible, so you need to nail them with high quality so that they do not sag over time.

MDF boards are well suited for finishing a country house

Plastic

Another inexpensive material that does not look as beautiful as wood, but has an ideal resistance to moisture. Used in bathrooms, toilets, kitchens. plastic ceiling is a smooth and even surface overhead without the cost of painting. It is easy and quick to assemble, even alone, because the material is almost weightless and made in the form of narrow panels that can be held in the hands of one person.

Frame under plastic trim in wooden houses they are made from a bar 2.5–3.0 cm wide, on concrete ceilings - from metal guides. The frame pitch is 50 cm, the panels are fixed with self-tapping screws. Finally, a decorative plinth is fixed along the perimeter of the ceiling, covering the joints.

metal slats

Slatted false ceilings are gaining popularity mainly due to the fashion for them. Reiki can be metal (steel, aluminum) and “metal-like”. The great advantage of the material is complete fire safety, the disadvantage is that there is no heat and sound insulation. Maintenance consists of regular washing without abrasive materials, since scratching the rails is quite simple.

The rack construction is very quickly and skillfully assembled without fasteners, like a children's designer, it is practically weightless. But still, in wooden houses it is better not to make such ceilings, but to hem concrete floors with them.

Metal slats are not afraid of dampness and do not rot, but the wooden floors under them quickly deteriorate

Siding

The siding ceiling will look appropriate on the porch, open veranda, loggia or utility room, because it is traditionally considered a material for exterior finish houses. Having trained on the ceiling of the veranda, you can then sheathe the outer walls of the house with siding yourself. This is a very durable and moisture resistant material, has a large selection of colors and textures. Despite operating under open sky retains its color and durability for decades.

There are metal and vinyl siding. Vinyl, flexible and inexpensive, well suited for ceiling decoration. Simple installation on a branded profile and low weight make it possible to mount the panels on the ceiling alone. Vinyl siding can swell slightly due to temperature changes, so during installation, you need to leave an extra centimeter around the perimeter of the ceiling. Care is the easiest - water plus any detergent.

Hemmed with drywall, left beams in plain sight for decoration

Drywall

Drywall is a recognized leader for the construction of false ceilings in any residential area. They trim the ceilings in seasonal country houses, houses with permanent residence, in huge, like an old castle, country houses. It has the only drawback - it is not sufficiently moisture resistant, warps and deforms from steam and dampness.

Tip: the industry produces more expensive moisture-resistant drywall for rooms with a difficult microclimate.

The frame for drywall is made from a profile or bar 5x3 or 4x4 cm, the sheets are attached to the frame with self-tapping screws. For a false ceiling, unlike a suspended one, no hanging fixtures are needed, the sheets are mounted directly on the frame.

Video: filing with wooden beams

False ceilings do not "eat up" the height of the room. In a sense, making them is easier than hanging ones, and the conditions of country life make it possible not to think much about how to hem the ceiling, to use inexpensive materials that cannot be used in a city apartment.

How to hem a ceiling on wooden beams in a house: the use of modern technologies

After building your own suburban home, many questions arise regarding interior decoration and arrangement of premises of a wooden structure. One of these questions that worries many people who have just built their wooden dwelling is how to hem the ceiling along wooden beams.

Immediately after construction, a rough foundation can be observed in the house, which does not always meet the requirements of aesthetics. In addition, such a ceiling easily loses heat, so this type is unattractive for housing that is planned to be used all year round.

Without the construction of a high-quality finish of the rough ceiling, construction cannot be considered completed. The filing will allow you to forget about the unaesthetic space and contribute to the insulation of the room.

How can I hem a rough ceiling

The rough base is a platform for future fine finishing, which will include waterproofing work, insulation and cladding. The basis of the draft base is a transverse boardwalk, as well as beams that perform a load-bearing function.

Sometimes the ceiling space is not sheathed at the level of wooden beams, that is, they are not sewn into a GKL box or leveled to the level of the beams in order to obtain a smooth, even surface. This option involves reducing the height level by a distance of at least 20 cm. Sometimes a method is used when the beams become an integral decorative element of the interior.

In most cases, sheathing on beams occurs using the following materials:

  • Wood;
  • Plasterboard sheets;
  • plastic panels;
  • Wood fiber boards;
  • Siding;
  • Stretch fabric;
  • profiled sheet;
  • Plywood.

It should be mentioned that the draft ceiling is not able to protect the space from cold air and moisture. Ceiling sheathing has not only aesthetic tasks - to hide the unflattering underside of the construct, but also practical - to insulate the room and prevent moisture.

As a rule, for warming, the lining is created in several layers. First, the laying of basalt slabs takes place, then the waterproofing is laid. And the final stage is the installation of the finishing layer - decorative trim.

Varieties of sheathing materials and their properties

Ceilings on wooden beams are often found even in the most modern varieties. country houses, and in dwellings made of wood - most often. For sheathing the ceiling vault, a variety of materials are used:

Basic rules for filing the ceiling

Wooden ceilings, unlike concrete counterparts, can be hemmed with various materials, while there is an option to make the beams a beautiful decorative element in the composition.

Before starting installation work, it is necessary to insulate the rough base. For bathrooms, a plastic panel finish is an excellent solution, as it will not rot. At the same time, it must be remembered that before work on the sheathing, it is necessary to treat the rough surface with an antiseptic.

Balconies and loggias can be beaten with plastic, metal slats or sheathing boards - such materials are resistant to adverse weather conditions.

When covering the ceiling arch of open buildings, such as gazebos and terraces, you should choose plastic panels or siding. In this case, rail structures are also suitable. It is not recommended to mount drywall on open buildings.

To cover the ceilings inside the baths, it is necessary to arrange a finish that is resistant to moisture and high temperatures. The ideal solution for baths and saunas will be a sheathing board.

An interesting option would be architectural carving on existing beams, after which the surface is treated with varnish or coloring compositions.

Conclusion

Ceiling filing is not only a way to add aesthetics to the space, but also a necessity that helps to maintain the microclimate in the room. Competent sheathing along the beams can transform the interior, making it warm and cozy. To do the job correctly, you need to understand the intricacies of the selected material, as well as study the methods of warming and waterproofing the rough base. Quality work will provide a reliable and beautiful surface that will last for many more years.

Good ceiling for a wooden house

How to hem the ceiling in a wooden house? From right decision This issue largely depends on the comfort and safety that will surround a person.

If a wooden ceiling, despite all the ecological, functional, aesthetic value of the material from which it is made, is finished without taking into account the features of operation, many of its advantages will be lost.

High-quality work with a wooden floor requires not only attention, but also significant financial costs. And in order not to lose them in vain, it is worth clarifying your knowledge of how the correct filing of such a ceiling should look like.

Ceiling structure

A fundamental feature of the ceiling of any wooden house follows from the fact that such buildings, as a rule, are built one-story. Often the ceiling in them acts as a ceiling that separates the living quarters from the attic or roof.

This means that he does not experience the increased loads of the upper floors on which people can live. Therefore, when sheathing the ceiling in a wooden house, there is no need to use heavy structural elements with a large margin of safety.

It is often enough to take for this light wooden beam.

But it is the presence of an unheated (in most cases) attic ceiling on top that makes hardwood floor, despite the excellent thermal insulation properties of wood, special requirements.

good construction this important part of the building should be multi-layered.

This implies the following elements:

  1. Plank flooring. Performs the function of simultaneously overlapping and flooring of the upper level.
  2. Vapor barrier layer. Provides effective protection the entire system from the moisture contained in the vapors that rise to the ceiling from below.
  3. Thermal barrier. It consists of one or more layers of insulation, which does not allow heat to escape through the ceiling and thereby maintains a comfortable atmosphere in the room.
  4. Waterproofing. Protects the wooden ceiling, its elements and insulation from the penetration of moisture from the outside.
  5. Filing (finishing material). Represents the front part of the ceiling. It can be sheathed with wood, plastic and other building materials.

Types of filing

Modern industry gives a very detailed and detailed answer to the question of how to sheathe the ceiling in a wooden house.

The following types of products offer ample opportunities for interior design:

  1. Finishing components made of wood. This group includes variety of options lining, plywood, processed boards, plates and panels from woodworking waste. Experts consider the tree best material for ceilings in houses made of logs or planed timber. Building parts made from natural raw materials perfectly retain heat, extraneous noise, are quite durable (with proper and timely care for them), have a very attractive (“warm”) appearance, go well with the wood of the walls. However, they are quite expensive.
  2. Plastic rails and panels. Relatively inexpensive material, but looks somewhat more modest than wood counterparts. Nevertheless, plastic ceiling elements also have a beautiful appearance and one big advantage compared to wood - they are not at all afraid of dampness. Therefore, they are primarily mounted on ceilings in bathrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens. Experts recommend paying attention to large glossy panels without seams.
  3. Plasterboard elements. A very common option for ceiling filing in living rooms. With their help, you can achieve the perfect evenness of the room vault. The few significant drawbacks include the poor resistance of drywall to moisture: it warps from dampness.
  4. Siding. Although this material was originally intended for exterior finish buildings, recently it has been quite actively used for interior ceiling cladding. It is easy to install, moisture resistant and has a rich texture and color palette.

However, there are a number of materials and ceiling systems that do not look good in a wooden house.

In particular, experts do not advise using plastic lining with highlighted seams, tension systems, polystyrene foam and foam boards for filing ceilings.

Moreover, the main argument against their use is not the quality of these materials, but their poor aesthetic compatibility with wood.

How and with what to sheathe the ceiling - each customer decides independently to the best of his taste and financial capabilities. But in any case, it's good to listen to advice. experienced builders.

Many experts in choosing optimal design rooms in general and the ceiling in particular, it is recommended to pay attention to the ceiling beams. They look very beautiful and a little mysterious, especially if they are dark on a light-colored ceiling.

Light ceilings, especially painted in White color, make the room visually higher.

When using plasterboard panels, it must be borne in mind that they differ in significant weight. Therefore, they should be fixed to the ceiling by means of an iron profile, which is screwed to the wooden flooring with strong self-tapping screws.

In areas with a warm climate, it is better to make thermal insulation of a minimum thickness.

An impeccably flat plasterboard ceiling will look very impressive with a fairly large ceiling plinth.

Instead of a conclusion

The false ceiling is very convenient and relatively easy to install.

But having decided to do it yourself, do not neglect the help and recommendations of professionals. After all, the customer ultimately needs a well-made ceiling, which will only emphasize the attractiveness of everything. home interior.

How to sheathe the ceiling in a wooden house inside - finishing instructions and photos

How to sheathe the ceiling in a wooden house inside, so that it is beautiful, practical and environmentally friendly is not an easy question. Not all types of finishes are combined with wood - a material with a pronounced natural origin. When choosing, you need to focus on the design direction and texture of the walls. If this is a rustic style, then beams and imitation logs will go; for a luxurious living room, a smooth texture is more appropriate, in modern interior new technologies fit in - tension and suspension structures.

Features of the installation of ceilings in a wooden house

The design of the ceiling of a wooden house has its own specifics. Due to the relatively light beam ceiling to which the ceiling elements are attached, wooden walls carry much less weight. A heat-insulating ball and a vapor barrier are laid between the beams, a draft ceiling is mounted under the insulation, and a half-attic or upper floor is mounted on top.

Ceiling trim from rails and beams

Draft ceiling - the basis for decoration

The initial stage of finishing the ceiling in a wooden house involves the construction of a rough floor. For its manufacture, a beam is used, which is installed on the edge. By reducing the installation step, this method strengthens the entire ceiling structure.

With the help of nails, cranial bars are fixed to the sides of the beams. They will be the basis of the surface of the draft ceiling. To cover, it is necessary to prepare boards by cutting them along the right size. Their length should be slightly less than the distance between the beams. Finished boards need to be laid out so that a perfectly even coating is obtained.

Before hemming the ceiling along the wooden beams, it is necessary to carry out the treatment with antiseptics that protect the wood from pests, the appearance of fungus, mold.

The device and the choice of material for vapor barrier

In order to limit the penetration of steam from the room into the insulation, a vapor barrier ball is mounted. The lack of moisture does not allow mold and fungi to develop in the wooden part of the ceiling.

Exists different types vapor barrier films:

  • Polyethylene standard vapor barrier film. Serves to prevent the formation of condensate.
  • Foil vapor barrier with improved insulating properties and reflecting heat. This film is best used in conditions high humidity.
  • The membrane film controls the amount of humid air leaving the room.
  • Membrane film with variable vapor permeability. The greater the humidity in the room, the greater the throughput of insulation.

Vapor barrier layer in the ceiling pie

The vapor barrier film is first rolled out on the surface, after which it is wrapped and its edges are fixed. The ends of the material must overlap. If the film rests against the elements of the ceiling or other node, it cannot be cut. In this case, bend and fasten.

Thermal insulation layer to save resources

It is necessary to insulate the ceilings in a wooden house. It has been proven that up to 30% of heat loss occurs through cracks in the ceilings. For this purpose, you can use different thermal insulation materials:

  • Mineral wool. This versatile fibrous material is made from mineral raw materials. Its advantage is that it does not burn.
  • Ecowool. Insulation made of cellulose and other non-volatile substances. Does not rot, does not support combustion, has good insulating performance.
  • Granular insulation. Its components are sawdust, antiseptic and glue. With good thermal insulation properties, it is inferior in terms of sound insulation.
  • Styrofoam. Inexpensive and lightweight material that can be easily and quickly mounted. The disadvantage is that it supports combustion, mice often start up in it, and over time the foam can crumble.
  • Expanded clay. Made from clay. This porous material has high fire resistance and increased sound insulation.

The heat-insulating ball is mounted on top of the vapor barrier film. Insulation should tightly fill the entire space between the beams. To do this, the insulation in the plates is cut, but not in size, but 2-4 cm more than the distance between the blocks. Mineral wool is laid end-to-end, and a small gap is left between the foam balls, which must be filled with mounting foam.

Ceiling cladding for finishing

After carrying out work on the device of the draft ceiling, vapor barrier and insulation, you can proceed to the sheathing. It is difficult to give an unequivocal answer to the question of which ceiling is better in a wooden house - there are a lot of finishing options. The final choice depends on the style of interior design of the house itself. The main types of ceilings are hemmed and suspended. But recently, there has been a tendency to incline the owners of wooden houses to stretch types of ceilings made of film and fabric.

With the help of hems and suspended ceilings you can quickly, beautifully and reliably give the interior a finished look. Basically, in a wooden house, a tree is used for this purpose. But other materials also have the right to life.

The circuit is pretty simple. First, a frame is assembled, on which the coating details are attached, which make up an integral pattern. The designs differ only in the presence of a suspension. The hemmed version involves the use of a frame that is rigidly attached to the rough floor.

Sheathing with a board or clapboard - design options and installation technology

Before you make a ceiling in a private house, please note that for its cladding in a wooden structure, it is better to choose a board, wooden lining or MDF. Plastic panels in this case will be inappropriate. For an original design, you can choose a laminate, and a block house looks great in a house made of timber.

The attractiveness of choosing wood finishes

Advantages:

  • Environmental friendliness. The panels, like the board on the ceiling in the house, are made of wood material without the use of resins and harmful phenol.
  • Design. The color, texture and width of the skin can be chosen for each specific interior.
  • Water resistance. The material is not afraid of moisture, which makes it possible to install it in bathrooms, saunas, and kitchens.
  • Easy care. To clean the lining, it is enough to wipe it with a damp cloth, without using cleaning products.
  • Functionality. All the necessary communications are easily placed inside the design of such a ceiling.

DIY installation instructions

Technologically, the installation process is practically the same and includes several stages:

  1. The last bar must be cut not only in length, but also in width, while not forgetting to leave gaps from the walls. In addition, it must be fixed by analogy with the first.
  2. Holes for spotlights can be made before or after installing the panels on the ceiling.
  3. Finishing work on finishing includes the installation of lamps and a skirting board, the function of which is to embellish the interior of the room, as well as to hide the seams between the ceiling and the wall. If desired, the material can be coated with a colorless varnish.

Plywood sheathing - an economical choice

Question: how can ceilings be made in a house can be solved using ordinary or waterproof plywood as a material for filing.

Advantages of plywood for ceiling decoration

This product has several advantages:

  • Naturalness. The natural components of plywood create favorable climate indoors, filling it with the scent of wood.
  • light weight. Sheets will not create loads on the base.
  • Moisture resistance. The processed plywood perfectly serves in the conditions of the increased humidity.
  • Price. Plywood ceilings in a wooden house are an order of magnitude lower than most other options.
  • Strength. Due to the multi-layer, plywood has a greater degree of strength.

Plywood is based on wood

Of the obvious shortcomings, only two can be distinguished: the material supports combustion and is afraid of water.

Two technologies for mounting plywood sheathing

Installation of plywood on the ceiling in a wooden house is done on a wooden crate of bars. For sheathing, sheets with a thickness of 4-8 mm are used. Thin sheets can be installed on glue, thicker ones are nailed to the frame or screwed with self-tapping screws.

Plywood brand FK is considered the most environmentally friendly. She has practically no harmful substances, and carbamide glue serves as a binder between the layers. Consider both options for attaching plywood sheets to the base.

Mechanical installation:

  1. During the initial fixation, the plate is placed in the middle of the bar and fixed in one place.
  2. After that, the plywood is leveled with other bars and finally fixed.
  3. For installation, nails are used, the length of which is twice the thickness of the sheet.
  4. In the case of self-tapping screws, holes must be drilled under them before screwing into the panel.
  5. Fastening is carried out in increments of 15-25 cm, and in the middle of the sheet - 25-45 cm. In this case, you need to deviate from the edge by at least 1 cm.
  6. Between adjacent sheets, as well as at the walls, it is necessary to leave a compensation gap of 2-3 mm.

Gluing plywood:

  1. Sheets are cut into 2-3 parts
  2. Glue is applied to the plywood, which is leveled with a notched trowel.
  3. After that, the panels are fixed to the base and pressed tightly for 1 min.
  4. It is important not to forget about the compensation gap.
  5. For gluing to a wooden base, you can use PVA glue.

Before hemming the ceiling in a private house, plywood must be kept indoors for at least two days. For cutting plywood, a jigsaw is suitable, manual Circular Saw or a hacksaw with fine teeth.

Finishing– installation of a skirting board between the ceiling and the wall, as well as hiding with wooden slats gaps between sheets, if they are very noticeable. The ceiling can be varnished.

The scheme of the ceiling "pie"

Practical and fast plasterboard sheathing

Plasterboard ceilings are most relevant if it is necessary to level a very uneven surface. There are two main ways to fix drywall in a wooden house: on wooden base from bars and onto a traditional metal frame.

Drywall in a timber house

Features of mounting on a wooden frame

A wooden frame for drywall is more suitable if the task is to make a simple single-level ceiling. At the same time, various kinds of flaws are perfectly hidden without losing the height of the room. But you need to remember that only well-dried high-quality wood can be used for such a frame.

Procedure:

  1. At the beginning of the work, it is necessary to determine the most low point base, retreat 5 cm from it and, using a level, draw a horizontal line around the perimeter of the room.
  2. After that, along this horizontal line, fix the slats and bars along the length of the room in increments of 80 cm in a circle.
  3. To them, in increments of 50 cm, attach the supporting strips perpendicularly, which will become the basis for drywall.

Technology of sheathing on a metal frame

Metal carcass for fixing drywall is more reliable. Its design includes guide profiles that hold the ceiling frame, and rack profiles, to which the plasterboard is mounted.

Mounting order:

  1. By analogy with a wooden frame, the ceiling level is set and guide profiles are attached around the perimeter using self-tapping screws or dowels.
  2. A guide profile is attached to them in increments of 40 cm.
  3. The entire structure is fastened with self-tapping screws.
  4. To increase rigidity, you need to use suspensions.
  5. If it is planned to install a chandelier or ceiling lamp to illuminate the room in the future, it is advisable to install mortgages that will hold the lamp. To this end, several rack profiles must be attached to the frame in place of the lighting device.

The combination of drywall and wood

The installation of drywall sheets begins with the marking of drywall according to the size of the room and its cutting. The plates are attached to the frame with self-tapping screws after 25 cm. At the same time, their heads are slightly recessed into the panel. A sickle mesh is glued to the joints between the sheets, after which the primer, putty and painting of drywall are performed.

Fashionable and stylish ceiling with beams

Beamed ceilings in a private house help to decorate the interior with clear lines. This type of sheathing can be done using beams made of natural wood or decorative beams, or as they are also called, false timber. Both options have a number of advantages - this is ease of installation, natural origin, attractive appearance.

On the initial stage installation, a tracer cord is stretched, with which the degree of horizontality of the ceiling and frame is checked. The quality of the assembly of the finished ceiling depends on this.

As for the installation itself, in the case of wooden beams, everything is quite simple: they are nailed or screwed with long self-tapping screws to an already finished base.

The combination of beams with lining

With a false beam, it is a little more difficult. First, a frame is made. To do this, you can use a metal profile or a wooden beam. The second option slightly simplifies the fastening of the false beam. You can already attach to the finished frame decorative beams.

They are screwed to metal profiles with self-tapping screws, and to wooden beams- nailed with finishing nails. If the beam does not adhere tightly to the ceiling, wedges can be placed under it, and fastening should be done with longer self-tapping screws.

Modern stretch ceilings

The task - the better to hem the ceiling in a private house, can be solved with the help of stretch ceilings. They are film and fabric, look good, are great for a wooden interior, easy to install and easy to clean. In addition, the film and fabric are not susceptible to deformation during shrinkage at home. It is easy to hide communications above them, they are environmentally friendly, and in the version with fabric there is a “breathing” effect.

Stretch ceiling in a wooden house

Practical film decor

Installation of the stretch film should begin with the installation of the mounting profile. To do this, using the level, you need to mark the entire perimeter of the room. The profile or baguette is glued along the marked line to the wall. When the glue hardens, it is recommended to additionally fix the fastener with self-tapping screws. Immediately mark the locations of fixtures and communications.

Stretch ceiling system

Installation of a glossy film involves the use of a heat gun. At the initial stage, the canvas must be fixed in the corners of the room, after which the temperature in the room should be raised to 40-50º with a cannon. After that, gradually moving along the entire material with a heat gun, place the edges of the film in a baguette and fix it securely. When the ceiling is already stretched, it needs to be allowed to cool and take shape, then cut off the extra corners.

Glossy surface makes the room taller

Matte stretch ceiling pulled by hand and fixed in a baguette in the direction from the center of the walls to the corners. After that, excess material is removed. The final stage is the installation of fixtures according to the markings carried out earlier.

Ceiling textiles

Textile ceilings for the elite

Textiles, unlike PVC film, have the ability to "breathe". In addition, the fabrics are very durable and retain their shape perfectly. Another advantage is the width of fabric panels, they are much wider than film competitors, which allows you to make a seamless coating in large rooms.

The installation process is similar to the matte film installation method. The differences are that the fabric is initially fixed in a baguette in the center and further towards the corners every 50-60 cm, after which, in order to avoid wrinkles, it is evenly stretched over the edges. The corners in the profile are fixed last.

Regardless of whether you choose a wooden ceiling or a ceiling made of another material, the main thing is that it harmoniously fits into the interior and becomes a real decoration of your home.
