How to clean the gas stove grate at home? How to clean the gas stove grate How to clean the gas stove grate.

  • 17.06.2019

The stove is the most difficult appliance to maintain in the kitchen, especially if it is gas. Indeed, unlike the electric one, it has a heavy cast iron grate, burners that periodically clog, and handles that get dirty very quickly with grease. Stationary gas stoves also have an oven and a drying cabinet, a back shield or a cover. In this article, you will learn how to clean your gas stove at home from grates to knobs, as well as how to make cheap and super-efficient DIY cleaning solutions.

8 steps to clean your gas stove

Before starting the general cleaning of your gas stove, turn off the gas supply, disconnect it from the electricity if it has an electric ignition function, put on rubber gloves and follow our step by step instructions.

What you need:

  • Vinegar 9% (for cleaning the table, body and handles of the stove);
  • Ammonia or soda (for cleaning grates and handles);
  • Dishwashing liquid;
  • Plastic bag (for cleaning grates with ammonia);
  • Brush;
  • Sponge with hard side;
  • Rags or paper towels;
  • Basin;
  • Toothpicks (for cleaning cracks);
  • Paperclip, pin or needle (for cleaning burners).

Instruction:

Step 1. First, let's clean the grates - the most problematic part of the gas stove. Remove them and scrape off the stuck pieces of food, deposits of fat and soot in the corners with a scraper. Next, choose one of three cleaning methods:

  • Method 1. How to clean the gas stove grate with soda. Dilute half a cup of baking soda with water to make a paste-like consistency. Coat each grate with the resulting product, paying special attention to the corners and joints, and then leave them for several hours (at this time, proceed to the next cleaning steps described below). After such processing, it will be much easier to remove fat and carbon deposits from cast iron. However, with old dirt, you will have to tinker a little, using the hard side of the sponge, detergent or ammonia.
  • Method 2. How to clean the gas stove grate with ammonia. According to most reviews, this method is the most effective. Wet a sponge with ammonia and simply cover every centimeter of the grate with it. Next, put it in a plastic bag, tie it up and leave it for a couple of hours or more (at this time proceed to the next steps of cleaning the stove). Finally, rinse the grate with dishwashing liquid and remove loose grease and carbon deposits with a sponge.
  • Method 3. How to clean the gas stove grate with soapy water. Grate about a quarter of laundry soap, dissolve the shavings in hot water(5-7 l) in a basin or sink and leave the grates to soak for several hours. After that, wash them clean with dishwashing detergent, if necessary, treat difficult places with ammonia.

Keep in mind that washing cast iron grates in the dishwasher is not only not very effective, but also not good for cast iron. Indeed, after such a long stay in the water, it will certainly become covered with rust.

Step 2. Also remove the covers of the burners and soak them for a while in a basin with hot soapy water (you can put them in the same basin where the grates are already soaked).

Step 3. Using a dry brush or paper towel, clean the stove from crumbs and any other surface contaminants.

Step 4. Let's take care of the burners: remove them, wipe them with a damp cloth and make sure that nothing is blocking the flow of gas. If necessary, clean the holes with an unfolded paper clip (pin/needle) and put the burners back in place.

Step 5. Generously spray a solution of water and vinegar, diluted in a ratio of 1: 1, onto the body of the stove with a spray bottle. Don't forget to spray the vinegar on the handles (if they're not removable), the control panel, the back of the stove, and the oven if you have one. Let the tool work for you for a minute or so. Next, wipe the stove with a clean rag or paper towel.

By the way, if the body of your stove has White color, then you can, after processing with vinegar, sprinkle it with baking soda. The resulting mixture will act on fat and soot even more effectively, however, it will leave behind white coating, which will not be so easy to wash off. That is why washing the stove with a mixture of vinegar and soda is not recommended for owners of silver, black and other colored models.

Step 5: Soaking the stove in a vinegar solution will remove most stains. However, to clean out old greasy plaque, you should additionally work with one of the following tools:

  • dishwashing detergent;
  • ammonia;
  • ammonia.

Apply the product to a small brush (a toothbrush is ideal!) and begin to clean local dirt in small circular motions.

Step 6. Separately, you should stop at the stage of cleaning the handles of the gas stove and the electric ignition button, which are so difficult to clean because of their small size, the existing cavities and crevices clogged with grease.

  • If the handles are removable, then remove them and soak for several hours in a solution equal parts vinegar and water or in a hot solution of grated laundry soap. If, after such treatment, old fat is still not removed, treat difficult areas with a solution of ammonia and water (1: 1), let the alcohol work for 5-10 minutes and wipe the handles clean.
  • How to clean the handles of the gas stove if they are not removable? The principle of operation is simple: treatment with solutions "vinegar + water" or "ammonia + water", soaking for 10 minutes, cleaning with a toothbrush in a circular motion. Cracks should be cleaned with a toothpick.

Step 7. If your gas stove has an oven, it's time to clean it too. Follow our step by step instructions to do it effectively and correctly.

Step 8. Replace the clean grates, burners and their covers, make sure the alcohol has evaporated (if you used it) and check the operation of the stove.

Washing a gas stove is a boring and time-consuming task. No wonder most housewives do not like this kind of work. It is even more difficult if you need to clean the grate: it seems to deliberately collect layers of fat, soot and dust on its surface, which are very difficult to remove. But there are proven ways to help you cope with this task without much difficulty. We will tell about them.

Why is it so difficult to clean the gas stove grate

It is this part of the plate that suffers from dirt the most. Lattices are very inconvenient to clean, so many housewives leave this activity “for later”. And the dirt grows and grows, until we are faced with the fact that its removal already seems almost impossible.

The first thing that settles on the bars of the grate is the fat from the dishes being prepared. It is not so important whether you fry cutlets or cook soup in meat broth. Grease splatters from the pan. The fat spills out of the pot along with the boiling water. And if this disgrace is easy to erase from the flat surface of the stove, then cleaning the grate is not such an easy task.

Compare what the bars of a clean and dirty grate look like

Getting on the details of the plate along with water, the fat sticks literally tightly, clinging to the metal after the moisture evaporates. On it, in turn, dust settles. And if you have a cat at home who likes to walk on the tables, then you will quickly notice on the stove and his hair stuck to the greasy grates. Agree, an unpleasant sight ...

Under the influence of high temperatures during cooking, the fat deposited on the grates with dust and food residues begins to turn into soot - a hard, ingrained crust. Over time, it can cause corrosion if you do not take the necessary measures.

To clean dirty grates, you can use various means containing alkalis, acids and abrasive particles. All of them can help you, but the ease of cleaning with their use directly depends on the level of contamination. For example, if you are going to remove a large number of chronic fat with soot using abrasives (river sand, cleaning powder, soda), before using them, you will have to soak the grate for a long time. Otherwise, you run the risk of painfully scrubbing the rods without much result.

Alkaline and especially acidic chemicals are excellent at removing grease, carbon deposits and other contaminants.. But due to the active effect on the metal surface and the pungent smell, it is better to use them only in case of emergency, when the dirt really looks invincible.

Note! The easiest and most effective way to deal with any grate contamination is to remove it as soon as it appears. As soon as you notice that something has splashed or spilled from the pan or pan, wipe the stove and grate as quickly as possible until the fat and food remains have solidified.

Universal ways to wash grease and soot

For the manufacture of gas stove grates, traditionally used:

  • cast iron;
  • stainless steel;
  • enamelled steel.

There are several universal safe methods that can clear any of these materials.

The first folk remedy - soda

One of them is the use of baking soda. Moisten the product a little with water until a slurry forms and coat the grate with it on all sides. Leave to lie down for about an hour so that the soda has time to dissolve the layer of dirt, then wipe it thoroughly first with a stiff brush, and then with a sponge. The grate will become clean and shiny.

Ordinary baking soda - a universal remedy for cleaning grates on a gas stove

Boiling water

Heat the oven to the highest temperature. Pour water into a deep baking sheet so that it completely covers the grate placed on it. Put the tray in the oven and wait. Water, heating up, will soften the burnt fat: it will simply fall behind the rods. After that, it will be enough to wipe the grate with a wet cloth, if necessary, lightly walk with a scraper or a hard sponge.

Steam

For fast, gentle cleaning without the use of chemicals, which also requires no application special efforts, you can use a portable steam generator with a round stiff brush attachment. A jet of hot steam perfectly softens grease, and a brush cleans them from the surface.

The steam generator with a special nozzle will help you remove stubborn grease

The steam generator will help to effectively clean any, including fixed grate.

Mustard

Mustard powder can also be used to dissolve fat.

  1. Wet the grate.
  2. Apply on it a paste made from mustard powder and a little hot water.
  3. Leave for 2 hours.
  4. Scrub with a hard sponge and rinse.

The property of mustard to break down fat has long been known, so it is successfully used as a cleaning and disinfectant.

We take into account the material

And now we will consider the most suitable cleaning methods for each type of grate separately. It is important to know what material the grate on your stove is made of, because the choice of how to care for it can directly depend on this.

cast iron alloy

Cast iron as a material is not very easy to clean. For example, a heavy and bulky cast-iron grate should not be loaded into a dishwasher. You can try to simply scrape off the dirt with a knife or a stiff brush, but this is long and hard, and scratches that are unpleasant to the eye can form on the surface.

Calcination

The most effective calcination of a cast-iron grate on an open fire. It is best to do this in the country or in the yard with the help of a diluted fire or blowtorch. But you can ignite it at home, right above the gas stove.

  1. When burned, dried fat with dirt will emit a strong odor, so first open the windows and doors wide open, turn on the hood.
  2. Place the grate over a lit gas stove burner.
  3. Turn it from time to time so that all the edges can work with fire.
  4. Hold until all the fat with dirt burns through.
  5. After annealing, wipe the cooled grate with a wet cloth and dry.

A variant of this method is calcination in sand.

  1. Place the wire rack on a large baking sheet (which is fine) or a metal sheet.
  2. Fill it with sand and put it on the fire. After a few hours, greasy contaminants will burn out.
  3. Rinse the grate with water and dry.

River coarse sand - the most affordable abrasive for cleaning grates

Mechanical decontamination

Another very effective method, although more expensive. Home craftsmen figured out how to greatly facilitate this process and do without tedious scraping.

  1. Buy a nozzle in the form of a not very stiff metal brush for a drill or grinder at a hardware store.
  2. Install, turn on the device and drive it along the grid in a circular translational motion.

This automated cleaning shows brilliant results. In addition, this method is good if the grate is fixed or non-separable, designed for 4 burners.

Interesting! Excellent for removing stubborn dirt from a cast-iron grate, car engine cleaner. Wet the sponge well with it and carefully wipe the product from all sides, especially where there is more dirt. After that, rinse the grate in running water and dry.

Stainless and enameled steel

Cleaning of steel gratings from frozen fat and related contaminants can be carried out both directly on the stove and in the bathroom. For stainless steel, you can use any aggressive detergents, including abrasive ones. But enamel requires a more careful attitude. It is not recommended to scrape such a grating with a metal scraper, and even more so with a knife: enamelled surfaces are prone to scratches and chips.

You can’t clean the enamel with a knife or a hard metal brush mounted on a drill: the risk of getting chips and scratches, which will later become covered with rust, is very high

If you are going to use caustic chemicals, wear safety goggles and a medical mask if possible. So you protect the mucous membranes of the eyes and respiratory tract from toxic fumes.

Chemicals

Best for steel gratings are gels marked "Anti-fat".

  1. Apply such a substance evenly in a generous layer on the surface of the grate.
  2. Maintain the exposure time specified in the instructions.
  3. If necessary, rub the grate with a sponge and then rinse under running water.

Steel grate is highly resistant to aggressive chemicals

Remember: no matter what method you choose, no matter what tools you use, always wear rubber gloves on your hands when working in the kitchen. Both chemical and natural substances (what can I say, even ordinary water) with prolonged exposure adversely affect the health of the skin of the hands.

Vinegar

You can also dissolve fat with vinegar:

  1. Take out a deep baking sheet to an open balcony or courtyard.
  2. Place a grate in it and pour vinegar over it.
  3. Leave for a few hours.
  4. When all the fat has dissolved, wipe off the remaining dirt with a rag.

Concentrated acetic acid must be diluted with water according to the instructions on the label.

Important! If the product you are using has a pungent odor, do not work with it indoors, open a window or go outside. open air. And do not leave the processed grate for a long time so as not to breathe toxic fumes. Follow label instructions.

soap solution

The classic way, simple and affordable, but requires the most time and effort.

  1. In a large basin or other container with a suitable volume, prepare a strong soapy solution from the shavings of laundry soap or any strong dishwashing detergent. Water must be taken hot.
  2. Place your stove grate in this solution and leave to soak overnight.
  3. In the morning, you can easily wipe off the dirt with an iron scraper or a hard sponge.

Soak the steel grate in a saturated soapy solution for at least 12 hours, and then you can easily wipe off the burnt fat

Melamine sponge

Having recently appeared on the market, melamine sponges have already become popular among housewives due to the fact that they easily and carefully cope with most dirt. You need to use this miracle tool in this way:

  1. Dampen the sponge with water.
  2. Rub the dirty areas on the grate bars.
  3. Remove the foam with a dry cloth.

This method is great for cleaning hard-to-reach places, especially fixed grates.

The substances that make up the melamine sponge perfectly cope with any pollution.

Washing in the dishwasher

This method is simple and ideal for enamel. Just do not forget to remove all plastic and rubber parts from the grate before loading into it, if any. And add more detergent than usual, especially in case of rather strong and old pollution.

To make subsequent cleanings much easier and not cause trouble, apply a little trick: create a protective coating on the grate. Apply a mixture of 2 parts of stationery silicate glue, 1 part of any washing powder and 6 parts of soda ash to the bars of a clean grate, dry and rinse.

Soda ash with the addition of silicate glue and washing powder will help you avoid heavy dirt on the grate

Note! Be sure to thoroughly dry the grate after cleaning, do not put it on the stove when wet. Fat sticks very easily to wet areas.

Cleanliness in the kitchen is a guarantee of comfort and health, and cooking on a perfectly clean gas stove is a hundred times more pleasant. It is very important that a dirty grate does not spoil general impression. We hope we have helped you find the right cleaning method for you. Tell us in the comments about how you deal with such pollution. Good luck to you, and let the kitchen assistant - a gas stove - always please the eye with brilliance!

Appliances work for us: dishwasher and steam generator

If the house has a dishwasher, and the grate is disassembled into parts, the fight against fatty deposits will not require much effort from the hostess. One cycle in intensive mode is enough for the grate to regain its original purity. If fat deposits have been accumulating for several months, the dishwasher will most likely not be able to cope with them right away. In this case, after the end of the first cycle, without waiting for the end of drying, you can remove the grids and process them manually: the brightened and softened fatty layers can be easily removed with a knife or a stiff brush. You can do without " self made", but then for complete cleaning grates will need one or two more wash cycles.

A household steam generator can also help clean dirt from the gas stove grate. Steam has a temperature of about 140 ° C, and this is quite enough to remove carbon deposits and greasy deposits from the cast-iron surface. To clean the grilles, a small round nozzle with hard bristles is usually used, however, it is not always possible to reach hard-to-reach places, so dirt can remain in the corners. But the cleaning of the plate in this case occurs without the use of any household chemicals.

Grid cleaning with soaking

To save your own strength, it is better to thoroughly “soak” the dirt in a detergent solution before cleaning. This can be done in enamelled bath or large pelvis. Dissolve grease in very hot water (you can use stove and oven cleaners, gels for kitchen surfaces, dishwashing liquid, or any other alkaline agent). You can also use regular soda. Immerse the grids in the solution for several hours.

Alkali dissolves grease, and softened deposits will be much better cleaned from cast iron. You can apply the cleaning agent (already undiluted) to the grate again before washing and leave it for 10-15 minutes to act.

To clean the grate, it is better to use not sponges (they wear out very quickly on cast iron), but a stiff brush or a metal washcloth. Angles and hard-to-reach places can be processed with an old toothbrush.

Cleaning without soaking

If the grate is one-piece and cannot be immersed in water, you will have to do without soaking. In this case, you will have to use more aggressive detergents. As a rule, special sprays for cleaning ovens and products marked “Anti-grease” are used to clean dirty grates.

Moisten the grate with water, treat with a product, leave to act for 10-15 minutes, then carefully brush. For heavy soiling, this procedure will have to be repeated several times.

note

If you clean the grate without removing it from the stove, cover the surface of the stove with foil, then dirt and cleaning agent will not enter the nozzle.

Even if you use a mild detergent to clean the grates, wear rubber gloves. Cleaning the grates is a dirty job, and the risk of scratching your hands or breaking your nails is quite high.

Before cleaning, you can ignite the most polluted places over the fire to burn out fatty deposits.

Numerous studies indicate that fat in combination with multi-layer soot is one of the causes of certain diseases, including cancer. The influence of this factor on the body is associated with slow poisoning and malfunctions. internal organs person. It is for this reason that the topic under discussion becomes relevant.

Why is it difficult to remove a layer of soot?

Fat, food and other residues on the elements of the gas stove and dishes under the influence of temperature turn into hard-to-remove soot. This red-hot conglomerate exudes carcinogens that are harmful to human health.

A layer of soot remains on the grate after each use of the plate, and if it is not washed off immediately, the layers will gradually form an unpleasant, multi-layered, hard and durable crust. Particles of soot literally eat into the metal. This is what creates known problems with both cleaning certain types of dishes and the gas grill.

Nagar not only spoils the appearance of the grate, it exudes bad smell, which negatively affects health, but also destroys the metal, changing its heat-conducting qualities, and therefore worsens the quality of cooked food.

Taking into account the fact that grates for gas stoves are made of different metals (enamelled steel, cast iron, stainless steel), which have different physical and chemical properties and react differently to the formation of soot, various methods and means are used to clean them.

Cleaning grates made of different materials

Cleaning the cast iron grate

Cast iron is a heavy and brittle metal that is afraid of water and retains heat well. It must be cleaned with care. Cleaning methods include:

  1. Calcination. It's safer to ignite fresh air or at home, having previously opened windows and turned on ventilation, since toxins evaporate when carbon deposits burn out. The product is held over the fire, turning it over from time to time until the main part of the soot burns out. The remaining dirt is removed with a damp cloth;
  2. Compositions for cleaning motor transport engines. After applying the agent to the surface, the carbon deposits are quickly removed, the quality of cast iron after such an operation does not suffer;
  3. You can remove carbon deposits from the surface of the grate using metal brushes or special nozzles on a drill. It is not recommended to constantly use this method, since during this procedure erasure occurs upper layers material.

Cleaning the stainless steel grate

Stainless steel is a highly durable and resistant to chemicals and abrasives material, for cleaning which use a variety of methods and aggressive substances:

  • mechanical methods. Cleaning is done with river sand, soda or metal brushes. The metal is wetted and then processed for the required cleaning time. Microdamages do not affect the quality of stainless steel;
  • Self-manufacturing cleansing pastes. Recipes:
    1. dilute about one hundred grams of washing powder with ammonia (30 ml), then cover the material with this composition and hold for 15-20 minutes, then wash the product;
    2. mix soda ash with hydrogen peroxide to the state of liquid porridge, which you can use to scrub the grate with a coarse sponge, then wash off the dirt in running water;
    3. dilute mustard powder with vinegar (9%) in approximately equal proportions, add a small amount of dishwashing liquid to the composition. Apply the resulting slurry to the area to be cleaned for 20 minutes, then rinse hot water using a sponge;
  • Use a paste of the following composition: stationery glue (50 ml), soda (150 grams), washing powder or some other detergent (50-60 grams). Mix the parts and cover the product with this thick composition. When dried, the composition becomes transparent and is easily washed off in hot water along with soot.

Well proven for cleaning stainless steel Activated carbon. For this, a paste is prepared from crushed coal and water, which is applied to the grate for 20-25 minutes. After that, the soot is easily washed off with warm water.

Cleaning the enamel grate

Enamel-coated products are generally lightweight, durable, but extremely prone to chipping and sensitive to chemicals. Therefore, methods for removing carbon deposits from them should be gentle:

  • Soak the grate overnight in a few liters of concentrated soapy water. After that, the carbon deposits are removed with a sponge and hot water;
  • Use melamine sponges - the newest tool for cleaning dirt. They are made from a special resin, which, after a special technology, receives abrasive properties. Melamine sponges do not damage the product, and due to their relative softness, they effectively clean the surface.

TO universal ways cleaning, applicable for different metals, conditionally include:

Folk remedies

The disadvantages of chemical detergents are known to all. It is for this reason that many housewives prefer the old and proven folk remedies, which, with a competent approach, can provide not the worst, but safe for health results.

Boiling

Boiling in the oven is carried out in the following way:

  • Five tablespoons of soda (for ten liters of water), a grated bar of laundry soap and a grated apple are added to a large container of water.
  • Baking soda, due to its acidic properties, has excellent cleaning properties.
  • Malic acid gives the surface a glossy sheen.
  • After immersing the grate in the solution, boil long time, then remove the remnants of soot and wipe dry.

There is an easier way: the grate is placed on a baking sheet and placed in the oven for 30 minutes (maximum burning mode). Nagar after such boiling is removed easily.

Ammonia

In cases where the grate is heavily soiled, you can wash it with ammonia:

  1. To do this, use a capacious bag with a secure latch or a strong garbage bag, place a grate in it and spray ammonia in the bag.
  2. To evenly distribute the ammonia, the closed bag with the contents must be turned over several times.
  3. Keep the grate in it for a long time (5-8 hours). During this time, the soot will dissolve, leaving a dark brown slurry, and the grate will become clean.
  4. Then it should be washed in water with the hard side of the sponge and wiped dry.

Since ammonia evaporates easily, it is better to carry out this procedure in the fresh air with gloves, with a respirator, and soak the grate in a tightly closed container.

mustard powder

Mustard powder is a proven and productive way to cleanse body fat and soot from household items. For this you need:

  • using a slightly damp cloth, generously coat the grate with powder;
  • place it in a large container and hold for 2-3 hours;
  • then rinse the grate with warm water using a sponge.

You can prepare a composition that includes mustard powder and water, cover the grate with it and place it in a garbage bag, tying it tightly. Keep the design in a bag for 3-4 hours, after which the dirt is removed with a sponge and hot water.

Laundry soap and stationery glue

The cast iron grate is fairly easy to clean from soot with laundry soap and clerical glue:

  • Fill a large container with water (about ten liters), add grated soap (about two-thirds of a piece), while stirring and dissolving the soap, add about 150 milliliters of glue there;
  • Boil the solution and then, placing a grate in it, boil over low heat for 1-2 hours;
  • Remove the grate and place, without letting it cool down much, into the water;
  • Then, for greater effect, you can use a melamine sponge. The method is time consuming but effective.

Baking soda

Soda, like mustard, has long been used to clean contaminated surfaces. The cleaning procedure is as follows:

  • Place the grid in standard sizes durable trash or other bag;
  • Pour 500 grams of soda there and pour water. Close the bag tightly and then shake it several times;
  • Keep the product in the bag for 2-3 hours, turning it over from time to time;
  • Remove the grate and rinse thoroughly with water using a sponge.

Another way is to dilute soda with warm water to a gruel. Cover the grate with this gruel and leave for 40-50 minutes. This time is enough for the soda to react with soot and soften it to a large extent. Then you should clean the grate with the rough, and then with the soft side of the sponge.

silicate glue and laundry detergent

The composition of silicate glue and washing powder is an old method that effectively helps to clean the surfaces of products from fatty growths and soot. In this case, about 40 ml of glue should be mixed in 500 ml of warm water, add about 150 grams of washing powder. Place the product in a capacious plastic bag and keep it there for 4-5 hours.

After that, do not forget to rinse the product with a household sponge in hot water.

soda and vinegar

A solution of vinegar and soda will also help to clean the product qualitatively:

  • Fill a suitable container with medium temperature water;
  • Pour into a container about 250 grams of soda and about 250 grams of vinegar (9%);
  • Place the product to be cleaned in the container and keep it in the solution for 2-4 hours, and then rinse thoroughly.

Such a solution is effective for especially contaminated surfaces. Soaking time is determined depending on the degree of contamination of the product.

Chemicals

Of the chemical cleaning agents, perhaps the best effect can be achieved using formulations such as Sif, Sanita, Shumanit, AmWay, Oxyday, Primalux other. These substances, according to the attached instructions, are easy to use. The principle of their use is simple - the substance is applied to the surface to be cleaned, then they pause for several hours, after which the dissolved soot is removed with a household sponge.

Usually the manufacturer of such products makes a special mark on the packaging "Antifat". However, in the selection process, it is extremely important to consider the material of the workpiece. So, for stainless steel, special sparing substances are produced that preserve their high-quality appearance.

Chemical compositions also differ in their consistency - gel, in the form of sprays and other types.

  • Cleansing cream Sif. Universal remedy suitable for various surfaces. Contains microgranules of mineral substances and biological additives that break down fat, soot and rust, while maintaining the surface of the product. The cream is sparingly consumed and applied with a sponge. Then the composition is rubbed and incubated for 10-15 minutes. Then they are washed off with the remnants of soot;
  • Sanita. Alkaline based product suitable for all types of coatings. Does not damage the surface, does not leave any scratches. It is produced in the form of gels and sprays. Able to decompose fat within minutes. In addition, Sanita cream has a disinfecting effect, is economical;
  • Shumanite. Production Israel. It softens pollution well, but can negatively affect the skin and respiratory organs. The composition is applied in a thick layer on the grate, which is then placed in a sealed bag overnight. Then the soot is washed off with a soft sponge;
  • Amway. Effective and safe gel, without abrasive inclusions. An all-purpose cleaner that removes old and deep-seated dirt from various metals without damaging them. The soot softened by this composition is removed with a household sponge. Excellent tool, but with a high price tag;
  • Cilli Bang. This powerful tool is effective for removing fatty layers and soft soot. Does not contain abrasive inclusions. After application, it is kept for 15-20 minutes, and then washed off. Represents the mid-price category of cleansers on the market;
  • Paste Astonish. Carefully and reliably cleans old dirt. Contains active ingredients - sodium silicate, as well as soft abrasive inclusions.
  • "Primalux". Its application depends on the type and quality of contamination. Able to successfully clean carbon deposits. It is diluted with water in the proportions indicated in the instructions. The concentration of the agent is selected in a practical way, depending on the nature of the contaminants to be removed. Can be applied in closed system washes repeatedly. Application in hot water significantly increases cleaning efficiency. Apply to the surface with a brush;
  • Oxyday. Ecologically safe remedy from organic components for deep cleaning. After application to the surface, the composition processes organic fat layers. In addition to deep cleaning, it destroys pathogenic bacteria and acts as a natural disinfectant.

For the rapid dissolution of contaminants in the composition chemicals cleaning often includes acidic and alkaline compounds, as well as other aggressive elements. Therefore, in the course of working with chemical compositions, it is important to adhere to safety rules:

  • It is necessary to work in rubber gloves;
  • It is important to use a respirator, since some components in the composition of cleaning products affect not only the product being cleaned, but also the person, his skin and respiratory organs;
  • During the cleaning process, various impurities appear in the air. Therefore, the process is best carried out in a well-ventilated area. It is better to remove children and animals from the place of cleaning at this time.

Effective Ways

Application household appliances- one of the simple and productive tricks to clean and wash the cast-iron grate of a gas stove at home. Dishwasher suitable for this if the lattice small sizes or dismantled into parts and easily placed in the dishwasher. The operating mode of the machine in this case is set the longest, at the highest temperature. In the case of fresh soot, the grate will be cleaned quickly. Year-long soot will soften, and it can be cleaned with a household sponge.

If there is a household steamer at home, the grate is placed in a vertical position and a jet of steam is directed at it for several minutes. When the soot softens, it can be wiped off with a rag or a household sponge using a detergent.

but the most efficient way To clean the grate from grease and other dirt is to quickly wash it immediately after the appearance of the first plaque. This procedure is the easiest and most uncomplicated.

The calcination method is excellent for cleaning cast iron and steel products. To do this, the grate is placed over the fire and held, turning over, until the burnt-out pieces of soot and old fatty layers fall off. Residues of dirt are removed with a brush and wiped with a slightly damp cloth.

It is not recommended to wash cast iron products with water.. At home, you can ignite the grate above the stove, creating good conditions for ventilation of the room (set the hood to the maximum power level and open the windows). safe, harmless and effective tool cleaning is a complex composition of soda, mustard powder, salt and vinegar (mixed in equal proportions).

The mixture is applied to the surface of the product and aged for 3-4 hours, then the grate is washed and wiped dry with a rag.

How to prevent pollution?

To facilitate the cleaning process, it is largely necessary to carry out several simple rules:

  • Regularly wipe the grates and stove after use;
  • Clean the grate every week. Good way cleaning - immersing the product in a soapy solution overnight, after which it is imperative to wipe it dry, since grease and dirt cover the wet surface more intensively.

Compliance with these simple rules will serve well to preserve health, significantly save time and money.

  • soak hot items immediately after the food is cooked - a significant temperature difference deforms the metal structure;
  • Sand cleaning cast iron grates made in China. These gratings are made from the so-called white cast iron, which has the lowest strength characteristics of all its types.

It must be remembered that ordinary sand is rich various types microorganisms and bacteria. Items cleaned with sand must be thoroughly washed, but it is better to simply use a safe abrasive, such as soda or other means.
