7. Moments that need attention

1. At the first start-up of the water heater, as well as at each start-up after switching off, make sure that the water heater is filled with water and only then connect it to the network.
2. If the power cord is damaged, it should be replaced with a special cord. This cord can be purchased from an authorized service center.
3. In winter and in cold areas, when the heater is not used for a long time, drain the water from the heater. To do this: close the cold water supply valve, open the drain cock (if there is a mixer, turn its regulator to the position maximum temperature), close the sludge drain (be careful not to scald), then drain the water.
4. Socket outlets must be properly grounded.
5. Clean the heater periodically during operation. Sequence of actions: disconnect the water heater from the network, shut off water faucet, open the drain valve by turning the handle, open the drain hole (be careful not to scald) and drain the dirt. It is advisable that this work be done by a qualified specialist.
6. If there is heavy scale formation in the heating elements or a large amount of sediment, remove the heating elements and clean them. When reinstalling them, observe the following: the bolts must be tightened evenly, without significant application of force, the fixing support must not be tilted. The power supply can only be connected after filling the water heater with water.
7. If the heater is not used for a long time, turn off the cold water supply tap and disconnect the water heater from the mains.
8. If the water pressure exceeds 6 bar, water drops or leaks may appear on the outlet of the safety valve.
The rare appearance of water droplets on the drain hole of the safety valve indicates normal operation of the heater.
The frequent appearance of water drops on the drain hole of the safety valve means that the water pressure is too high. In this case, it is necessary to install a reducer on the cold water supply pipe to reduce the pressure, which should be located at the maximum distance from the heater.
To drain the resulting water droplets, a drain pipe can be used, the end of which must point downwards and not be closed.
9. Before contacting the service center, make sure that the malfunction of the device is not related to the shutdown of the cold water supply, power supply, etc. If the water heater is not powered, the water overheating safety thermostat may have tripped. In this case, contact an Authorized Service Center. Have your warranty card ready. It will be needed by a service specialist during the repair of Ariston.

The presence of an autonomous water heating system provides not only comfortable living, but also independence from the whims of utilities. The performance of such systems, their efficiency and safety depends on the technical characteristics of the Ariston boiler, the connection scheme and the quality of the installation.

The key to a long and trouble-free service is compliance with all operating rules and timely maintenance. Ignoring the requirements prescribed by the manufacturer can lead to premature failure of both individual parts of the boiler and the entire product as a whole. In addition, the possibility of electric shock increases many times over.

The instruction manual contains all the necessary information regarding the installation, connection, conditions of use and the frequency of maintenance of the Ariston storage water heater. In addition, the document includes a list of the most common problems and a method for fixing them yourself, however, for effective solution problems will require knowledge of the design and basic principles of operation of the product.

The device and principle of operation of the water heater "Ariston"

A modern Ariston boiler for 30, 50, 80 and 100 liters is a hermetic structure consisting of the following parts and assemblies:

  1. storage tank:
  2. Electric heating element (TENA);
  3. Magnesium or zinc sacrificial electrode;
  4. Tuning and control unit;
  5. Casing.

The inner surface of the tank must undergo anti-corrosion treatment. Depending on the cost of the product, various modifications may have as anti-corrosion protection:

  • Titanium coating;
  • glass-porcelain coating;
  • A layer of heat-resistant enamel resistant to aggressive compounds.

Besides, expensive models water heaters from the premium manufacturer "Ariston" can have all-metal welded storage tanks made of alloyed stainless steel.

The air gap between the casing and the inner container is filled with a polymeric heat-insulating composition (most often, polyurethane foam). Thermal insulation allows you to noticeably slow down the cooling process, thereby reducing energy consumption.

Heating elements are divided into two main types: "wet" and "dry". Wet are called heating elements that come into direct contact with the heated liquid. In the process of interaction with the working environment, a persistent coating of insoluble scale is formed on the outer surface of the heating element, which prevents normal heat transfer. A zinc or magnesium anode is used to protect the heating elements and the inner surface of the tank from corrosion damage.

The functionality, informativeness and ergonomics of the water heater from the company "Ariston" largely depends on the design and design of the control unit and settings. There are two types of control mechanisms: electronic and mechanical. Digital systems has an attractive appearance and differs in accuracy of adjustment, however, it is extremely sensitive to voltage fluctuations.

The mechanical unit looks “simpler”, and the adjustment accuracy is not the same, however, the reliability of such devices fully compensates for these shortcomings. In addition, the price of models with electronic adjustment is much higher.

The casing of the unit can be made of both metal and polymer materials. The most common is the cylindrical shape, but models of other configurations are in demand.

How to choose the volume of the water heater

Boiler capacity is one of the main criteria to consider. Customer reviews and statistical analysis allowed to determine the required amount of hot water depending on the number of consumers.

For one person, a 30-liter Ariston heater is enough. If two people live in one apartment at the same time, Ariston for 50 liters will fully satisfy the need for hot water. A family of three or four people will need "Ariston" for 80 liters. If we are talking about providing a private cottage or a small restaurant, the best option would be "Ariston" for 100 liters or more.

Operating instructions for the water heater "Ariston"

The beginning of operation can be considered the installation and connection of the boiler to a centralized cold water supply system and electrical network. The quality of installation depends on the safety, efficiency and service life of the product. If, for one reason or another, the boiler is put into operation on its own, special attention should be paid to the points below.

It is necessary to start work on mounting and connecting an Ariston brand water heater by carefully studying the instructions attached to it.

  1. Since the power consumed by the device is quite large, it is necessary to make sure that the characteristics of the electrical wiring used for connection fully correspond to the expected loads and has. The best option for connecting to the mains is a separate cable from the switch cabinet or shield.
  2. Do not use components with visual defects, damaged threaded sections, etc. The safety valve included in the scope of delivery deserves special attention.
  3. Since the mass of the product is quite large, and the temperature of the water contained in it can reach up to +75 0 С, the boiler must be fixed to the bearing surface on metal diameter not less than 10 mm. It is allowed to use plastic dowels of the same load capacity.
  4. Installation of supply and discharge pipelines must be carried out in strict accordance with the diagram attached to the heater by the manufacturer.
  5. The place of connection to the power supply must be reliably protected from condensate, dampness and direct contact with water.
  6. You can connect "Ariston" to the power supply only after filling the storage tank cold water, otherwise the water heater heater may fail.
  7. If all the work is done correctly and the product is working properly, after switching on, the corresponding indicator should light up, indicating that the boiler is working.

Water heater Ariston: operation, maintenance and repair

To ensure efficient and safe work you must know and follow the basic rules for using the product.

  1. It is forbidden to turn on the device until the storage tank is completely filled.
  2. Mechanical or other damage to electrical cables is not allowed;
  3. Before starting the operation of the Ariston water heater, make sure that the grounding is in good condition;
  4. In the event of a malfunction, the unit should be immediately disconnected from the power supply, drain the water and contact the Ariston service center.

Even with proper operation, timely maintenance of the system is necessary to maintain operability. First of all, this is due to the low quality of the water supplied. Despite the presence of filters, a large number of chemical compounds and mechanical impurities that contribute to the formation of scale and other contaminants. Regular and internal surface of the drive will significantly increase the life of the boiler. Scheduled maintenance includes:

Preliminary draining of water from the storage tank;

Disconnection of plumbing fittings;

Dismantling the body of the water heater;

Cleaning the heating element and the inner surface of the tank without the use of particularly aggressive detergents, avoiding mechanical and abrasive effects as far as possible;

Assessing the condition of the magnesium anode and, if necessary, replacing it.

The conservation and subsequent activation of the boiler deserves special consideration.

Why Ariston water heaters are created

Household appliances for heating water, which are powered by electricity, are most often used for the period when hot water is turned off. As a rule, they acquire compact models. When professionally installed, it provides a supply warm water for daily household needs: washing, cleaning or showering.

In private sectors, with all communications, they use gas and larger volumes with storage. In this case, household appliances of the most famous Italian company are used all year round.

How to turn on the water heater Ariston

Under no circumstances switch on an empty heater!

Most household appliances are characterized by the following instructions when first turned on:

  1. Open the cold water supply valve (not to be confused with the safety valve);
  2. Open the hot water tap or lever from the mixer connected to the water heater;
  3. Wait a certain amount of time to collect water;
  4. When the heater is filled, water should flow from the mixer;
  5. Provide proper nutrition for the device;
  6. At the first start-up, the temperature should be set in the middle position, over time, the liquid temperature level is adjusted to save and quickly heat up;
  7. Electronic models Ariston is regulated by buttons for the required level of heating;

These steps must be performed by the installation wizard.

Due to inexperience, they forget to open the valve responsible for supplying hot water from the boiler. If it is not fixed in the desired position, then the heated water from the device will follow into the riser of the house.

Water heater repair Ariston

Ariston water heaters have vulnerable parts:

  • thermostat;
  • sensors;
  • switches;
  • heating elements.

Most often, valves and insulation gaskets are repaired. The integrity of the tank is violated less often. This failure occurs due to corrosion or careless handling. The tank needs to be repaired only in the service.

As an independent repair, timely preventive cleaning is implied. Every six months, it is recommended to clean the heater for the Ariston water heater.

How to determine the malfunction?

It's simple, with obvious changes in work:

  1. Strange hissing during operation.
  2. The standard heating period is extended.
  3. Switching on and off noticeably increased.

Any high-quality Ariston device is easy to handle with self repair. But it's better to follow this guide:

  1. De-energize the room and the device.
  2. Drain the water. Drainage must be provided by a hose with a diameter slightly smaller than the liquid discharge hole.
  3. Put the drain hose into the toilet.
  4. Shut off the cold water supply.
  5. Disconnect the hose from the cold water valve.
  6. Connect this hose to a faucet and lower it into the toilet.
  7. Remove TEN. Its fastening is always on a nut with a washer or a plate.
  8. Having pulled out the heating element, carefully examine all places with scale and try to remove everything without harm to the tank.
  9. After removing the scale, pour clean water over the tank.
  10. If the heater itself is in working condition, then you can clean it in the same way.
  11. Install all hoses and parts of the heater in the same order.

The budget and optimal way to wash off scale is lemon acid, diluted in water. This solution is poured into the tank and left for 24 hours.

With an independent approach, it is possible and necessary to replace parts only with original ones. Spare parts for the Ariston water heater from the manufacturer guarantee the quality, the money invested in repairs and the stable operation of the devices.

Peculiarities

Ariston heater able to heat water from +30 to +85 degrees. An interesting feature of this product is that such a water heater has an extremely pleasant and user-friendly design, able to fit into any room, and constantly provides a home hot water. Many models also have an energy saving function - the water automatically heats up to a temperature of +50 degrees. Of course, you can increase this figure if you wish. Also, Ariston 50 liter boilers can automatically turn off when there is a power surge, which helps prevent damage to the unit. V modern models it is worth noting the functions of accelerated heating and water filtration.

Kinds

Among the main models of Ariston water heaters, there are several types.

  • Water heaters accumulative type. Two tubes and power supply are connected to the storage heaters. The first tube is designed to supply cold water to the boiler. After heating it, it exits through the second tube. Typically, 50 liter models are mounted - they are attached to the wall. Water in these types of boilers is heated by electricity. Thanks to the thermostat, the storage electric boiler automatically turns off after the liquid is heated to desired temperature. Users marked storage boilers Ariston VLS, which, among other things, are flat. They are extremely compact, so they do not take up much space.

  • Boilers of gas type. Gas models differ in that they heat water not at the expense of electricity, but with the help of gas. Otherwise, the device and the principle of operation are similar to storage-type water heaters. It should be noted that the gas boiler is usually made of steel and is additionally covered with a layer of titanium enamel, which allows both to increase the reliability of the water heater and reduce heat loss.

  • Water heaters with indirect heating. They carry out heating of water by means of the coil installed inside. It is noted that these models heat water faster than all previous ones. But usually they are quite large and have big weight, but they are able to heat a large amount of water (150–500 liters). Such volumetric models are not recommended to be fixed to the wall, but placed on the floor. The floor water heater has a very durable coating that increases its service life.

Among other types of Ariston boilers, it is worth noting flat devices. These compact models have minimal dimensions, they can be placed anywhere. Despite their small size, these boilers are quite powerful. This option organically fits into the room of any size and does not take up much space. And also the manufacturer offers customers rather unusual boilers that can be positioned horizontally. Horizontal models can be placed in a specially designated niche, thereby completely hiding it, which allows for even greater savings in usable space.

Popular Models

It is worth highlighting some of the most common models of Ariston boilers.

  • Ariston Velis Inox. This model has horizontal and vertical variations. Stylish design and a flat body make the boiler a rather attractive technical device that does not take up extra space.

  • Ariston ABS VLS. This option is almost completely automatic. Installed in the device various systems, which monitor the temperature and protect the heating elements from overheating.

  • Ariston ABS PRO. This type of water heater is cylindrical in shape, which allows you to place it in the corner of the room. This version of the boiler is one of the most budgetary.

How to connect?

Usually, the installation and connection of Ariston 50 liter boilers does not cause great difficulties. Each device is accompanied by an instruction manual. Therefore, installing a boiler is a simple matter and can be done with your own hands.

Installation of a mounted boiler is carried out as follows:

  • measurements must be taken on the wall, including determining the height of the unit;
  • then a pair of holes should be made with a puncher, which should be approximately 10 cm in depth;
  • for fastening the boiler, strong anchors are used that can withstand the heavy weight of the structure;
  • then the boiler is simply hung on the anchor with a special mounting plate, which is located behind the body.

One of the main points when installing a boiler is to correctly connect and carry out the first start of the device, using rules such as:

  • first you need to open the valve to supply cold water to the boiler;
  • then open the mixer, from which hot water; most likely, at the first start it will produce loud and intermittent sounds, but do not be afraid - this is normal for the first inclusion;
  • then you need to wait a bit until the boiler carries out a set of cold water to heat it;
  • after filling the boiler and heating the liquid, the water from the tap must flow stably; it is advisable not to immediately set a large temperature regime;
  • After the first start, the water temperature can be easily adjusted using simple commands on the water heater.

Faults

Even the most reliable equipment is not immune from accidental breakdowns. No matter how high the characteristics of the device, it can still fail. Various factors can influence this. Water heaters are usually characterized by breakdowns of water heating elements and thermostats. In order to avoid damage to the heating elements, it is recommended to carry out preventive maintenance and cleaning of the heating elements at least once a year. A long period of water heating, extraneous sounds during boiler operation, or more frequent spontaneous shutdowns can serve as an indicator of a malfunction. Boiler repair can be done independently; To do this, you need to disassemble the unit and determine the location of the breakdown.

In order to eliminate the malfunction with your own hands, you must follow certain steps.

  • To begin with, it is worth disconnecting the device from the mains, and then completely drain the water from it. To do this, you can use a hose that connects to a special hole for discharging water.
  • Shut off the flow of fluid into the boiler. After draining the water, you can begin to inspect the parts of the water heater.
  • Often breakdowns occur precisely in electric heaters, so you should immediately inspect the heating element (heater).
  • With prolonged use, any heating element is covered with scale. Therefore, it should be carefully removed, while you can use special tools.
  • If replacement of any components is necessary, then it is necessary to purchase only original parts by contacting the official manufacturer.

In some cases, a water heater tank may leak. In this case, you need to carefully examine the body of the product. It is possible that the problem lies in a leaky gasket, which should simply be replaced with a new one. But if the heater tank is leaking due to a crack or chip, then it is unlikely that it will be possible to eliminate this malfunction by independent forces. You can try using the soldering method, but this is unlikely to help for a long time. If the housing is damaged, corrosion in the heater begins to occur faster, and heat loss begins to increase.

Therefore, the installation of the heater should be carried out very carefully so as not to accidentally damage the housing. If such a problem still occurs, then best solution will contact the service center.

After analyzing customer reviews on the use of Ariston boilers, it should be noted that most of the owners are satisfied with the purchase, because the operation of such a water heater does not cause serious complaints. Customers appreciated the stylish appearance, compactness and ease of operation of the water heater. They were also separately noted low level heat loss, low electricity consumption during boiler operation. In general, the owners of Ariston boilers noted good value for money, as well as professional service in specialized services.

As negative points periodic breakdowns of the water heating element were noted. Usually manufacturer Ariston gives a guarantee for the heating element up to one year. Some owners of boilers have had breakdowns before. But the performance of this element depends on many factors - frequency of use, water hardness and others. And also among the negative aspects, it is worth noting the lack of elements for mounting some wall-mounted boilers in the kit. These brackets must be purchased separately.

Problems and malfunctions of Ariston water heaters

Ariston equipment is rightly considered reliable, able to work for many years without causing inconvenience. However, regular maintenance and preventive inspection of the equipment is necessary.

Among the main faults are:

  • failure of the electronics - only the sensor, heater or switch may break, or maybe all at once;
  • during operation, the machine may knock out, which means that the equipment lacks “cash” voltage - for correct operation, you will have to turn off all powerful electrical appliances in the house for the duration of the wash;
  • the problem with the ignition may be poor-quality wiring.

All problems are solvable, but on condition that repairs and maintenance are carried out by service specialists.
