For several years now, decorative bottles, which usually decorate the shelves in the kitchen, have not gone out of fashion. For their manufacture, glass containers of the original form are used: jars or bottles made of transparent colorless glass so that their contents are clearly visible, which are filled with something bright, beautiful. Carving for vegetables and fruits originated many years ago in the East, and for thousands of years it has become a part of national traditions there. Currently, carving for vegetables and fruits has become very popular all over the world. In connection with the spread of the carving technique at the present time, decorating bottles with its use is a new direction in arts and crafts.
Target: obtaining the skills of making decorative bottles using elements of the "Carving" technique.
Tasks:
To teach how to cut ornaments from vegetables and fruits, put them in bottles and preserve.
Necessary materials: knife, chopping boards, bowls, plates, glass containers, a funnel for pouring marinade into bottles, clean napkins and towels. Vegetables (cucumber, forehead, cabbage, carrots, pumpkin, squash, squash, pepper), fruits (orange, lemon), herbs (parsley, dill, mint) salt, sugar, vinegar, distilled water.
The choice of materials must be approached very carefully. Decorative patterns on vegetables and fruits are cut with various devices. Main tool is a good little sharp knife. In its absence, you can use a regular office knife.

1. Preparation of utensils for decorating.
We choose dishes made of transparent thick glass of an interesting shape. Glass containers and lids must be thoroughly washed and sterilized. It is recommended to wash glass containers with brushes, brushes, use soda ash. There are different methods of sterilization: in a sterilizer tank, in water, steam. The dishes should be boiled in water for about 5 minutes, sterilized over steam - 8 minutes.

2. Food preparation.
When choosing combinations of products, you should give preference to contrasting colors - the compositions will be more enchanting. Red, green, yellow are favorites. Vegetables and fruits must be thoroughly washed, the stalks, leaves, the remains of the tops must be removed - everything is superfluous.

Then the prepared vegetables and fruits need to be cut nicely. You don't need to have special skills here, the main thing is to show your imagination. All cut out blanks are stored in cold water.

Make a slot in the middle of the workpiece.

Cut the veins from it. Cut oval holes symmetrically on both sides at a distance from the slot.

Trace the veins along the contour with a knife.

You can cut out the leaves and easier.

Cut small triangles around the edges of the pepper blank.

4. Bottle filling.
When filling a decorative bottle, you should select interesting color combinations... Raw materials are stacked, trying to do it not only neatly, but also beautifully. You can use a knitting needle to distribute items inside the bottle.

You can use onion rings, green pea and other products. Parsley greens look very nice.

In the filled bottle, you must immediately pour the preservative. A centimeter from the liquid level to the upper edge of the glass container is a perfectly acceptable free space.

After that, the neck must be tightly closed with a stopper (you can seal the neck with wax or sealing wax).

Such decorative bottles are obtained.

The neck of the bottle can be additionally decorated by covering it with a piece of burlap (decorative mesh) and wrapping it with twine (decorative tape). Attach artificial flowers and leaves, dried flowers, beads on top.

I used two colors of beans and lentils, peas, buckwheat and rice. I also wanted to use colored salt, but no, here it would be superfluous. The layers of cereals should contrast with each other, then the souvenir will look good. Also try to make layers of the same width and do not alternate large and small grains. It is best to start with the largest ones (beans, lentils, chickpeas) and gradually move on to smaller ones (rice, buckwheat, semolina). The narrow neck looks spectacular with small cereals.

If you are making a bottle in, then it is better to sort out the cereals and beans, removing all the debris - pebbles and spoiled grains. After filling the bottle completely, you need to plug it with a cork or close it with a lid and tightly wrap the neck (or part of it) with twine. The role of the twine is exclusively decorative; it can be replaced with a cloth or ribbon. Use glue to secure the thread securely. It is not necessary to glue the entire thread, it is enough just to fix its ends with glue.
