Proper installation and connection of Ariston storage water heaters for 15, 30 and 50 liters

For self connection electric water heaters the first thing to do is choose a location and install. Most often, these devices are placed in the bathroom or in the toilet.

Please note that EWH for 50 liters or more takes up considerable space. The closer the device is to watershed points, the less heat loss.

Installation

Of course, the easiest way to install a floor water heater. All you need to do is choose a location. If the floor covering has defects, it is recommended to level the floor in advance (pouring a screed or laying a tile).

Installation of wall-mounted boilers takes place in several stages:

First, mark up the fasteners. To do this, you will need to measure the distance between the openings for the hooks on the back of the device. Markings can be done with a pencil, using a building level. Using a puncher, drill holes for the fasteners. Anchors can be used as fasteners. Fasteners are selected based on the mass of the boiler. For small EWHs, 10mm anchors are quite suitable, for 30-liter ones, 12-millimeter ones are used.

Water supply

The next stage is the connection to the water supply. First, think over the scheme, draw it on paper, and then transfer it to the wall. Drill holes along the entire length of the pipes and install clips. Turn off the tap at the water inlet, a tee is installed on the branch closest to the electric water heater. A pipe is drawn from it to the device. A tap must be installed on the pipe, for convenience Maintenance, strainer and check valve.

Next, bring a flexible hose to the EWH and connect it to the branch pipe. Most often, input is indicated in blue. Similarly, a branch is drawn to the watershed point. Experts do not recommend connecting without a hose. It is not only beautiful, but also reliable. In the event of sudden pressure surges, the entire blow will fall on the tank.

After you connect all the nodes, open the taps and check all connections for leaks. If a leak is found, then reconnect or add more tow to the threads.

Electrical connection

To connect less powerful models of Ariston water heaters for 15 and 30 liters, it is allowed to use moisture-resistant sockets, while powerful devices must be connected with a separate wire, which is output to the machine.

How to turn on the water heater "Ariston"?

It is very important to use 3-core copper wires with a cross section of at least 2.5mm. Moreover, to protect against breakdowns on the wire, it is recommended to install an RCD.

In principle, this is all, now you need to wait until the device heats the water. For maximum comfort, you can mix hot water from the boiler with cold water from the tap, while obtaining the desired temperature.

Water heating

Based on the volume of the tank 30, 50 or 80 liters, the initial heating time will be different. It will take approximately 1 hour to warm up a 30-liter tank of Andris lux 30 to 65 degrees, a 50-liter tank of a VELIS boiler will take a little more - 2 hours, and a tank of 80 liters will heat up in 3 hours.

The time for which the heating will take place also depends on the heat of the incoming water and the power of the boiler. So, for example, in winter period the incoming liquid is icy and, accordingly, it takes a little more time to heat up.

Water heaters with powerful heating elements heat water much faster, but consume more electricity.

Use of the shower and bath

If the device has two heating elements, then you can reduce the load and use the device in economy mode.

For example, for fifteen-liter devices, one heating element with a power of 1.2 kilowatts per hour is quite enough; in 80-liter ABS VLS EVO PW 80 models, two heating elements are installed, the power of which is 2.5 kilowatts per hour. The time for which the electric heater heats up depends on the power of the heating elements.

Why thermal insulation is needed

The Ariston electric water heater is a tank, it can be enameled or silver-plated (in expensive models), the body is closed. The service life of enameled steel tanks is longer, and the formation and accumulation of scale is much less.

To maintain the heating temperature, there is a heat-insulating layer between the tank and the body. Foamed polyurethane or foam rubber is most often used for thermal insulation.

Heat loss in fifty-liter EWH is about 12 degrees in 24 hours.
