Ariston water heater 65 liters user manual. User manual (instruction) for the operation of the Ariston electric water heater

  • 18.10.2019

Availability autonomous system water heating provides not only comfortable living, but also independence from the whims of utilities. The performance of such systems, their efficiency and safety depends on the technical characteristics of the Ariston boiler, the connection scheme and the quality of the installation.

The key to a long and trouble-free service is compliance with all operating rules and timely Maintenance. Ignoring the requirements prescribed by the manufacturer can lead to premature failure of both individual parts of the boiler and the entire product as a whole. In addition, the possibility of electric shock increases many times over.

The instruction manual contains all the necessary information regarding installation, connection, conditions of use and maintenance intervals. storage water heater Ariston. In addition, the document includes a list of the most common problems and a method for fixing them yourself, however, for effective solution problems will require knowledge of the design and basic principles of operation of the product.

The device and principle of operation of the water heater "Ariston"

A modern Ariston boiler for 30, 50, 80 and 100 liters is a hermetic structure consisting of the following parts and assemblies:

  1. storage tank:
  2. Electric heating element (TENA);
  3. Magnesium or zinc sacrificial electrode;
  4. Tuning and control unit;
  5. Casing.

The inner surface of the tank must undergo anti-corrosion treatment. Depending on the cost of the product, various modifications may have as anti-corrosion protection:

  • Titanium coating;
  • glass-porcelain coating;
  • A layer of heat-resistant enamel resistant to aggressive compounds.

Besides, expensive models water heaters from the premium manufacturer "Ariston" can have all-metal welded storage tanks made of alloyed stainless steel.

The air gap between the casing and the inner container is filled with a polymeric heat-insulating composition (most often, polyurethane foam). Thermal insulation allows you to noticeably slow down the cooling process, thereby reducing energy consumption.

Heating elements are divided into two main types: "wet" and "dry". Wet are called heating elements that come into direct contact with the heated liquid. In the process of interaction with the working environment, a persistent coating of insoluble scale is formed on the outer surface of the heating element, which prevents normal heat transfer. For corrosion protection of heating elements and inner surface tank is zinc or magnesium anode.

The functionality, informativeness and ergonomics of the water heater from the company "Ariston" largely depends on the design and design of the control unit and settings. There are two types of control mechanisms: electronic and mechanical. Digital systems has an attractive appearance and differs in accuracy of adjustment, however, it is extremely sensitive to voltage fluctuations.

The mechanical unit looks “simpler”, and the adjustment accuracy is not the same, however, the reliability of such devices fully compensates for these shortcomings. In addition, the price of models with electronic adjustment is much higher.

The casing of the unit can be made of both metal and polymer materials. The most common is the cylindrical shape, but models of other configurations are in demand.

How to choose the volume of the water heater

Boiler capacity is one of the main criteria to consider. Customer reviews and statistical analysis allowed to determine the required amount of hot water depending on the number of consumers.

For one person, a 30-liter Ariston heater is enough. If two people live in one apartment at the same time, Ariston for 50 liters will fully satisfy the need for hot water. A family of three or four people will need "Ariston" for 80 liters. If we are talking about providing a private cottage or a small restaurant, the best option would be "Ariston" for 100 liters or more.

Operating instructions for the water heater "Ariston"

The beginning of operation can be considered the installation and connection of the boiler to a centralized cold water supply system and electrical network. The quality of installation depends on the safety, efficiency and service life of the product. If, for one reason or another, the boiler is put into operation on its own, special attention should be paid to the points below.

It is necessary to start work on mounting and connecting an Ariston brand water heater by carefully studying the instructions attached to it.

  1. Since the power consumed by the device is quite large, it is necessary to make sure that the characteristics of the electrical wiring used for connection fully correspond to the expected loads and has. The best option for connecting to the mains is a separate cable from the switch cabinet or shield.
  2. Do not use components with visual defects, damaged threaded sections, etc. Deserves special attention safety valve included in the package.
  3. Since the mass of the product is quite large, and the temperature of the water contained in it can reach up to +75 0 С, the boiler must be fixed to the bearing surface on metal diameter not less than 10 mm. It is allowed to use plastic dowels of the same load capacity.
  4. Installation of supply and discharge pipelines must be carried out in strict accordance with the diagram attached to the heater by the manufacturer.
  5. The place of connection to the power supply must be reliably protected from condensate, dampness and direct contact with water.
  6. You can connect "Ariston" to the power supply only after filling storage capacity cold water, otherwise the water heater heater may fail.
  7. If all the work is done correctly and the product is working properly, after switching on, the corresponding indicator should light up, indicating that the boiler is working.

Water heater Ariston: operation, maintenance and repair

To ensure efficient and safe work you must know and follow the basic rules for using the product.

  1. It is forbidden to turn on the device until the storage tank is completely filled.
  2. Mechanical or other damage to electrical cables is not allowed;
  3. Before starting the operation of the Ariston water heater, make sure that the grounding is in good condition;
  4. In the event of a malfunction, the unit should be immediately disconnected from the power supply, drain the water and contact the Ariston service center.

Even with proper operation, timely maintenance of the system is necessary to maintain operability. First of all, this is due to the low quality of the water supplied. Despite the presence of filters, a large number of chemical compounds and mechanical impurities that contribute to the formation of scale and other contaminants. A regular and internal surface of the drive will significantly increase the life of the boiler. Scheduled maintenance includes:

Preliminary draining of water from the storage tank;

Disconnection of plumbing fittings;

Dismantling the body of the water heater;

Cleaning the heating element and the inner surface of the tank without the use of particularly aggressive detergents, avoiding mechanical and abrasive effects as far as possible;

Assessing the condition of the magnesium anode and, if necessary, replacing it.

The conservation and subsequent activation of the boiler deserves special consideration.

How to turn on the Ariston water heater after winter: instruction manual

If the use of the device in the cold season is not planned, measures should be taken to preserve the system, and, above all, the water heater itself. For this you need:

  1. Completely drain the water from the storage tank;
  2. Disconnect the plumbing fittings from the inlet and outlet pipes;
  3. Clean the heating element and the inner surface of the tank;

Consider the basic rules of how to use the Ariston water heater. Each device comes with a user manual, but often everything is written there in obscure technical terms.

Inclusion

If you are turning on the boiler for the first time, you should do the following:

After that, it remains to wait until the liquid heats up and start using hot water. For convenience, you can mix cold tap water with warm water from the boiler to achieve the desired temperature.

Water heating

Depending on the volume of the tank, the time of the first heating will differ. It takes about an hour to heat 30 liters of water to 65 degrees, 50 liters two hours, and 80 liters three hours. Also, the time depends on the heat of the incoming water and the power of the apparatus. In winter, the water comes in cold and it will take longer to warm up.

Boilers with more powerful heating elements spend less time and more electricity on primary heating. For example, Ariston Platinum SI 80 H with a volume of 80 liters and a heating element of 1.5 kW heats water from 20 to 65 degrees in 3 hours and 6 minutes.

For two people, a volume of 30 liters is enough, fifty is enough for a family of 3 people. An eighty-liter model should be enough for 4-5 people living in the room where the water heater is installed. Also, the consumption largely depends on the habits and purposes of using hot water.

Use of shower and bath

If you plan to take a bath, you should take a larger volume of the tank. For these purposes, Ariston TI TRONIC INDUSTRIAL for 300 hp is well suited. To make sure there is enough water, set the thermostat to a higher temperature. This will allow you to dilute the hot water more strongly and due to this one tank can be enough for several people.

When using the shower, initially spend less water. At the same time, you can save even more by turning off the faucet from time to time, using water only to wash off the soap.

Do-it-yourself Ariston boiler repair instructions:

Ariston Company is the largest manufacturer household appliances which started its work in 1975. The president of this organization is the Italian Vittorio Merloni, who is also its founder. In 1980, Ariston became the European leader among manufacturers of household appliances and electronics.

Advantages of water heaters:

  1. Security. adapted to almost any working conditions. They are also equipped new system security to prevent emergencies.
  2. Durability. Long service life of heaters is ensured by quality materials from which they are made. This is mainly stainless steel with protective welds, as well as a steel tank with a titanium coating.
  3. Ease of use. On the front panel of the boiler there is simple system control, with which the desired heating temperature is set. Also, a malfunction indicator is installed in the water heater panel, which gives a certain signal in case of improper operation of the unit (overheating, incorrect thermostat operation, switching on without water, etc.)
  4. Profitability. Ariston water heaters have the lowest energy consumption rates. Average electricity savings are 35%.
  5. Bacteria protection. Very often, water stagnates in heaters, in which bacteria multiply over time. The ECO protection built into the water heater prevents the appearance of bacteria not only on the walls of the device, but also on its internal elements.
  6. High intelligence. The presence of the LCD display makes it possible to set the desired operating mode: day, night and economical.

The lineup

Flat boiler Ariston

The range of water heaters is quite huge and is constantly updated. They are very compact, although they have a large displacement. For a family of four, an 80 liter tank is ideal.

Mechanically controlled square tanks are very common. The only drawback is the unimproved fastening mechanism.

There are also models with a maximum capacity of 100 liters. Such units are able to provide industrial shower rooms. The insulating layer of such models is made of polyurethane foam.

The range of Ariston water heaters can have both an increased electronics system and a simple control mechanism. The warranty for volumetric tanks is given on average for seven years. For additional fastening boilers are made of special metal frames.

Main selection criteria

  1. Thermal insulation material.
  2. control method.
  3. What material is the tank made from?
  4. Power consumption.
  5. term and method of use.
  6. The presence of a protective system.
  7. Quantity and quality of heating elements.
  8. Water heating time and its maximum temperature.

The cost of a water heater depends on such factors: manufacturer, tank volume, materials of manufacture, power, warranty, additional functions. The prices of electric boilers range from 5,000 to 10,000 rubles. Concerning gas water heaters, then their cost ranges from 13,100 to 23,500 rubles.

heating element for boiler

Each boiler is equipped with a heating element. The device and characteristics of the heating element may be different, but most of all for an 80-liter Ariston water heater, a heating element of 1500 W on an oval flange is suitable.

It is made of stainless steel and has a curved shape. Inside the structure there is an oval flange, the size of which is 9.1 × 64.5 mm. The manufacturer of this device is also Ariston.

The heating element has the following specifications:

  1. Power - 1500 watts.
  2. Voltage - 220W.
  3. Warranty - 1 month.

How to clean the boiler?

To clean the water heater, you will need the following tools: knife, flashlight and a metal brush for washing dishes. First, you need to disconnect the heater from the power supply. You also need to turn off the water supply throughout the house or apartment.

Then, you need to remove the cover, which is located at the bottom of the tank, and disconnect all the wires there. All water is drained from the tank through a hose attached to the drain valve. At the bottom of the tank there are bolts that must be unscrewed, while substituting any container.

For thorough cleaning of the boiler, the electrical part is removed from it. You need to take it out very carefully so as not to catch rubber gasket. The removed electrical part must be cleaned with a special iron mesh, or with a certain chemical agent.

The next stage of cleaning is to remove scale and debris from the tank. To do this, you need to completely inspect the tank cavity (with a flashlight) and clean out all debris with your hand.

The cleaned tank must be thoroughly dried, after which it can already be collected in its original state. Also, before starting work, you should check the tightness of the tank.

If the rubber gasket does not allow water to pass through, then the boiler can be put into operation.

The firm "Ariston" specializes in the production of water heating equipment. Water heater "Ariston" 80 liters (instruction attached to the device), as well as other models of devices are widely known to the inhabitants of our country. Each new model has more stylish design and produced with the latest technology.

Figure 1. Ariston water heater for 80 liters

Characteristics of water heaters

All models of water heaters of the company have a very long service life. This effect is achieved by coating the inner walls of the device. modern materials which protect the boiler from rust. cold and hot water they do not mix inside, so it is possible to constantly maintain the temperature of the liquid inside the unit. Built-in temperature sensors are designed to protect Ariston from overheating. At the moment of a sharp change in the mains voltage, a protective device is activated and disconnects the boiler from the network. A special thermal insulation layer that keeps the water hot saves electricity or gas.

Some models of heaters have protection against bacteria. Water in such devices is always clean. Sometimes it happens that there is no water in the plumbing system. In this case, the device cannot turn on. Again, a special protection system will not allow him to do this. Almost all models of the company, including Ariston 80, 100, 30 liters, are equipped with the functions listed above. Main differences different models consists only in the external design of the devices. The body can be flat, round, horizontal, vertical. Any of them fits perfectly into the interior of the room (Fig. No. 1). Internally, their device is exactly the same (Fig. No. 2):

  • internal boiler;
  • thermal insulation layer;
  • branch pipe for water inlet and outlet;
  • magnesium anode (Fig. No. 3);
  • thermostatic thermostat.

Figure 2. The device of the Ariston water heater for 80 liters.

A boiler is a tank for cold water. Outside, it is closed by an outer casing. The water entering the tank is heated by a built-in heating element. Sometimes there are 2 heating elements. This is if an electric water heater. Between the boiler and the outer casing there is a layer of thermal insulation. In general, the design resembles a thermos device. The water in it retains its temperature for a long time. It comes out through the outlet tube. Ariston 80 also has a magnesium anode. It is installed to prevent deposits of mineral salts on the inner walls of the tank. It should be changed as needed. You can see this when cleaning the heating elements (Fig. No. 4).

When the water is heated to the set temperature, the thermostat disconnects the device from the network. The operation of the unit is monitored using an indicator light. The built-in thermometer allows you to monitor changes in water temperature. This is how the Ariston 80, 50 liter, 100 liter and other models are arranged. Their operating instructions are the same for any model. Each instrument is supplied with an instruction manual. It must be carefully studied, then the device will work for many years.

Purpose of water heaters

Installing a boiler in the house is carried out to provide the home with hot water. The heater can be selected in 100 liters, 80 or smaller sizes. Everything Ariston models have the same internal structure, therefore, the connection diagram of the water heater is used the same for this series of devices. It is better to invite a specialist to install the device. If you decide to do it yourself, the work should be done according to the plan:

  • inspect the device from the outside;
  • prepare fasteners;
  • check grounding;
  • place the outlet correctly.

Figure 4. Cleaning the heating element of the Ariston water heater.

When inspecting the device, it is necessary to check the safety valve well. It should not have visible flaws. If they are found, the valve must be replaced. As fasteners, it is recommended to use plastic dowels and self-tapping screws for them. You need to connect a heater for 100 liters or any other to a separate power line. The outlet must be located in a dry place. The use of extension cords is prohibited.

Properly installed storage boilers run immediately after they are connected to the network. This is indicated by the illuminated indicators. The temperature of the water inside the device is also shown by thermometers.

Conclusion on the topic

There are many systems for providing hot water to private houses and country houses.

The most famous high quality devices are produced by Ariston.

There are many models, but they all have the same internal structure. Instructions for use of these devices is also the same for all brands. Storage devices for heating water differ only in external outlines. All characteristics of different models are also the same. Only the 80 liter model can still use the antibacterial function. To activate it, you just need to press the "power" button and hold it in this position for 5 seconds. The water temperature can be set between 30-75 °C.

Each time you turn it on, you need to control the water level in the boiler. When turning off the boiler for a long time, you need to drain all the water from it. Each device comes with a 1 to 2 year warranty. Repairs are made in almost every city with a warranty card.

Water heaters are designed to heat the volume of water to a predetermined temperature and further maintain the temperature in automatic mode.

The water heating time depends on the power of the heating element and on the volume of the water heater.

  1. The heating time of a water heater with a capacity of 15 liters with a heating element (heater) of 1.2 kW from 15°C to 60°C is approximately 45 minutes.
  2. The heating time of a water heater with a capacity of 100 liters with a heating element (heater) of 1.5 kW from 15°C to 60°C is approximately 3 hours 50 minutes.

Water heaters are equipped with:

  • water heater
  • Safety valve
  • Bracket (for models up to 30 l inclusive)
  • Installation and operation instructions
  • Warranty card (issued by the seller)
  • Factory packaging

Principle of operation and main elements

The water in the water heater is heated to the set temperature. When the hot water tap is opened, cold water begins to flow into the water heater through the cold water supply pipe. Cold water coming from below displaces previously heated water through the hot water pipe coming from the top of the unit. Thus, hot water, starting from the top of the tank, enters the consumer, and the bottom of the water heater is filled with cold water.

The thermostat is activated and the heating element (heater) starts heating the water again to the set temperature. In thermoelectric models, water heating in the water heater can also be carried out using a built-in coil, which is connected to the heating system.

The main elements of the water heater are:

  1. The inner tank is made of steel and is protected from the corrosive effects of water by either fine enamel or enamel with a high titanium content. (depending on the model) or made of stainless steel.
  2. Thermal insulation - made of polyurethane foam, ensures minimal heat loss even when the water heater is turned off.
  3. Temperature regulator - sets the desired water temperature and is located either outside or under the cover, depending on the model.
  4. Thermostat - monitors the set temperature and controls the supply voltage to the heating element (heater).
  5. Safety valve - installed at the inlet to the water heater and prevents the return of water to the supply water supply line and protects the tank from pressure above 8 bar (atm.)
  6. Magnesium anode - additional protection of the inner tank against corrosion.

Installation

To install the purchased equipment, you can use the paid services of our service center specialists (tel. TsTO "Elves" - 270-39-12, 268-96-46), who will carry out all the necessary work.

You can also use the services of any other qualified professionals. However, in this case "Merloni TermoSanitari" is not liable for damage caused by incorrect installation and disregard for the recommendations of this manual, namely:

  1. The electrical connection must be carried out in accordance with the rules in section "2.3. Electrical connection".
  2. The safety valve included in the scope of supply must not be plugged or replaced.
  3. Installation is recommended to be carried out by qualified personnel.

For ease of installation directly under the sink, the 10 l and 15 l models, which have the letter "S" in the designation, have a pipe supply from above.

To reduce heat loss along the length of the pipes, the device should be installed as close as possible to the point of hot water extraction. To facilitate the maintenance of the device, leave space for free access to electrical parts (approximately 0.5 m).

For water heaters large capacity(from 200 liters), which have a recirculation outlet, in the case of remote hot water extraction points, it is recommended to organize recirculation.

Water heater mounting

A) Models with a capacity of 10 to 30 liters inclusive

Attach the supplied bracket to the wall. The fittings must support twice the weight of the water heater filled with water.

Slide the heater onto the tabs of the bracket and, pressing down slightly, fit onto them.

C) Wall-mounted models with a capacity of 50 to 200 liters inclusive

The wall mount brackets must be capable of supporting three times the weight of the heater filled with water. It is recommended to use metal fasteners with a diameter of 10 mm (screws, screws, hooks, etc.)

Floor installation

Floor water heaters from 200 to 500 liters are installed only on the floor and have legs included in the delivery. To prevent the appliance from tipping over, install the feet symmetrically so that the weight of the water heater is evenly distributed over the three support points. Fix the legs by screwing them to the walls of the water heater.

Connection to the water supply system

The hoses and connections connected to the water heater must be able to withstand both operating pressure and a temperature of at least 80°C.

Standard connection

With a standard connection, the water heater operates at a pressure determined by the pressure in the line.

Connection of the inlet pipe of the water heater to the water supply system is carried out through the safety valve included in the delivery set.

For ease of maintenance, when connecting to the water supply system, it is recommended to add a tee outlet between the inlet pipe of the water heater and the safety valve, to which to connect a tap to drain water from the water heater (in order to avoid accidental openings, it is better if it is opened with a special key).

Do not use too much force when screwing in the safety valve to avoid breakage.

The safety valve has two functions:

  • allows water to pass through in only one direction check valve)
  • at pressures above 8 bar, it bleeds water through the hole on the side (calibrated to 8 bar)

The appearance of water droplets from the opening of the safety valve during water heating is natural process and is associated with the expansion of water in the tank when heated.

Under no circumstances should the valve opening be blocked!

If the water pressure in the line exceeds 5 bar (atmospheres), a pressure reducer should be installed after the water meter.

Connection "with open outlet"

Using electric water heater for one point of consumption, it is possible to use the "open outlet" scheme.

To do this, use the appropriate valves and connect according to the diagram in fig. 2 in the instruction manual.

The installation of a safety valve is not mandatory, but to prevent the return of water to the water supply system, its installation is still desirable.

Note. This scheme is rarely used, since it is impossible to use a standard mixer.

Connection to an open water tank (cottage option)

If water enters the water heater by gravity from the tank, then the tee for distributing water from the tank to the water heater and other needs must be higher than the top point of the water heater.

Electrical connection

The power supply is connected directly to the thermostat terminals using a cable of rated cross section (e.g. three-wire copper cable 3x1.5 mm²), while grounding is mandatory. The ground wire is connected to the terminal with the symbol.

The supply cable must be led through the hole at the back of the machine and connected to the thermostat terminals and the earth terminal.

B) For models with a capacity of 50 to 500 liters inclusive, the supply cable is connected to the thermostat terminals and the earth terminal through the provided hole in the plastic cover of the water heater. Attach the cable to the cover using the clip provided.

To disconnect the heater from the mains, use a two-pole switch (preferably automatic) with a distance between open contacts of at least 3 mm (power cable and two-pole switch are not included in the delivery set).

Make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to the value indicated on the name plate of the heater (nameplate).

Turn on and work

Commissioning

Make sure the heater flange is centered. If it moves slightly, correct its position by loosening and tightening the nut(s).

Immediately before switching on, fill the water heater with water by opening the cold water supply valve and the hot water valve to expel the air. After filling the water heater, close the hot water faucet, inspect the machine to make sure it is not leaking. Turn on the water heater. For models with a capacity of 10 to 30 liters, it is necessary to turn on the switch directly on the device itself.

The control thermostat controls the operation of the machine.

In heating mode, the indicator light is on.

The cold water inlet pipe may become hot during operation.

Before each subsequent use, make sure that the water heater is filled with water by opening the hot water tap and making sure that water flows.

Temperature control

For the thermostat maximum setting temperature ranges from 68 to 75°C.

The temperature can be adjusted by turning the knob connected to the thermostat (for models with this knob) or by turning the thermostat adjusting screw with a screwdriver (for models without a knob, to do this, remove the plastic cover).

It is recommended to set the regulator to position "E". In the absence of an external regulator, this is approximately 75% of the maximum. In this case, the device operates in an economical mode, significantly, the rate of scale formation is reduced.

A) For models with a capacity of 10 to 30 liters inclusive

An increase in temperature is achieved by turning the screw clockwise, and a decrease - counterclockwise.

C) For models with a capacity of 50 to 500 liters inclusive

Decreasing the temperature is achieved by turning the screw clockwise and increasing it counterclockwise (as shown graphically on the heating level indicator or marked with "+" and "-" signs).

If the water heater is left unattended for a long time, disconnect the water heater from the electrical network and turn off the tap in the cold water supply line.

Shutdown for the winter

If the water heater is not used for winter period(for example, in a country house), all the water must be drained to prevent freezing of the water in the water heater.

To do this, disconnect the water heater from the electrical network, turn off the tap in the cold water supply line, open the tap on the outlet pipe and drain the water from the inlet pipe (by unscrewing the safety valve or opening the tee tap).

Models 10 UR and 15 UR must be removed from the wall and turned over to drain the water.

Maintenance and current repairs

Routine repairs and maintenance are recommended to be carried out by specialists with the necessary qualifications.

Replacement of individual parts

Before carrying out any repair or maintenance operation, disconnect the appliance from the mains!

Replacing the thermostat and indicator light

A) For models with a capacity of 10 to 30 liters inclusive

To gain access to the thermostat, unscrew and remove the front cover of the water heater.

The thermostat is removed after unscrewing the two fixing screws (without draining the water from the tank).

To replace a faulty indicator bulb, remove the thermostat by unscrewing the two fixing screws, disconnect the terminals and unscrew the bulb from the socket.

B) For models with a capacity of 50 to 500 liters inclusive

To access the thermostat, unscrew and remove plastic cover water heater. The thermostat is removed from the terminals of the heating element with a slight effort (without draining the water from the tank). To replace a faulty indicator bulb, after removing the plastic cover, disconnect the terminals and remove the bulb from the socket.

On models with a capacity of 500 l, the adjustment knob must be removed before removing the plastic cover; remove the thermostat from the mounting plate by unscrewing the mounting screws, remove the sensors from the sleeve.

Replacing the heating element

The water heater must be emptied before working on the heating element. To do this, turn off the tap in the cold water supply line, open the tap on the outlet pipe and drain the water from the inlet pipe (by unscrewing the safety valve or opening the tee tap).

Models 10 UR and 15 UR must be removed from the wall and turned over.

A) For models with a capacity of 10 to 30 liters inclusive (And models SG 50, 80, 100)

  • Remove the front plastic cover;
  • Disconnect the power terminals and the ground terminal, unscrew the nut;
  • Remove the flange holder, then, holding the bolt with pliers, press the flange inwards;
  • Now the flange can be pulled out by turning it 900;
  • When reinstalling everything, make sure that the flange gasket, thermostat and heating element are installed correctly.

B) For models with a capacity of 50 to 500 liters inclusive (except models SG 50,80,100)

  • Remove the plastic cover;
  • Disconnect the power and ground terminals;
  • When fixing the flange with five bolts, unscrew the bolts and remove the flange;
  • When fixing the flange with a clamp and a bolt, unscrew the nut and, pressing on the flange with a movement directed towards the inside of the apparatus, remove the flange by turning it by 90°;
  • The heating element is connected to the flange;
  • When reinstalling everything, make sure that the flange gasket, thermostat and heating element are installed correctly. For horizontal models, the heater must be mounted turned down.

Replacing the rubber gasket

When dismantling the flange, it is advisable to replace the rubber gasket with a new one.

Regular maintenance

Scale can be carefully scraped off the dismantled heating element so as not to damage its protective surface, or the heating element can be treated with substances designed to remove scale.

For additional corrosion protection, Merloni Thermosanitary water heaters are equipped with oversized magnesium anodes. With the aggressive properties of water, the magnesium anode wears out in 1-2 years.

The condition of the magnesium anode should be checked YEARLY. In case of severe wear, the magnesium anode must be replaced!

If the magnesium anode is worn out (residual length less than 5 cm), the warranty for the tank is void.

To replace the magnesium anode, remove the heating element flange, unscrew the old magnesium anode and screw in the new one.

Following the rules of regular maintenance will allow you to ensure a long service life of the water heater.

When the bipolar protective device trips

In the event of water overheating, a thermal fuse (according to C.E.I. regulations) breaks the electrical circuit on both sides of the heating element. In this case, determine the cause of overheating and reset the thermostat manually by pressing the reset button located on the thermostat (or, in case of a malfunction, replace the thermostat).

  1. Before calling the master on the first suspicion of a malfunction, first check if the reason for the failure is the lack of light or water.
  2. If hot water does not flow from the taps, first check that the water and electrical connections meet the requirements set out in the relevant sections of this manual. Check up reliability of contacts between plugs and corresponding clips of the thermostat. If everything is in order, then the two-pole protective device (see previous section) may have tripped, or the circuit breaker, or burned out heating element.
  3. Before carrying out any maintenance, repair or cleaning operations, disconnect the heater from the mains electricity and water supply.
  4. If the indicator lamp does not turn on, and the device heats the water, check the bulb.
  5. If the safety valve is equipped with a handle for draining water from the water heater, it is recommended to flush the safety valve at least once a month to avoid clogging. To do this, lift the handle several times.
  6. It is not recommended to remove scale from the inner surface of the tank, because. the scale layer is an additional protection of the tank against corrosion.
  7. When connecting to a water supply system, direct contact between two different metals should be avoided (for example, when using copper pipes). For this purpose use connecting dielectric adapters which can be purchased from an authorized service center.
  8. Thermoelectric Models

    (for models with a capacity of 50 to 300 liters inclusive)

    An additional operation for this type of water heaters is to connect them to the central heating network.

    Connect the top outlet of the water heater to the upstream circuit of the central heating system and the bottom outlet to the downstream circuit using 2 valves.

    Warranty obligations specified by the manufacturer

    Guarantee period

    The warranty period for the inner steel tank is at least 3 years, depends on the model and is indicated in the warranty card.

    The warranty period for other elements is 1 year.

    Basic conditions for the implementation of warranty repairs

    In the event of a warranty case, turn off the power supply from the water heater, turn off the water supply and call the master of our service center (tel. TsTO "Elves" - 270-39-12, 268-96-46).
