We know how to relieve you of such worries. Trust our specialists - they will not allow your housewarming party to be overshadowed by the difficulties of transporting and arranging things.

Difficulties that you may encounter when organizing a move

One of the biggest difficulties is the independent organization of the entire event. You can expect:

  • Disruption of plans due to problems at work.
  • Improper packing of things, which can lead to damage to property.
  • Lack of movers. Inexperience of assistants, inability to work harmoniously. Lack of knowledge on proper loading and packing of things.
  • Increasing the cost of moving to a new apartment. Delay of the car due to untimely loading of things. Too long transportation due to poorly chosen route and travel time. Ordering a large car due to the inability to properly distribute furniture inside the body.
  • The inability to take out or bring in large-sized furniture without the use of additional rigging equipment (narrow doorways, lack of a freight elevator, original design of flights of stairs).

How to make a plan for an apartment move?

If you decide to organize transportation on your own, be sure to draw up a preliminary plan. You need:

  1. Choose a date for the move so that you and all your assistants can take part in it.
  2. Make a list of people who will help you. Keep in mind that someone may get sick or simply not come.
  3. Calculate the time of ordering the car. It is better to lay an extra hour for force majeure circumstances that often arise in such cases.
  4. Pack your things in advance, think about how to take out bulky furniture.
  5. Measure stairwells and doorways in your new home to see if you can lift large items into the apartment.
  6. Make a plan for loading things into the car. Think about how to fold them compactly and how to fix the furniture inside the body.
  7. Find additional passenger transport that will take your assistants to their destination.
  8. Think about how to arrange furniture and things in a new apartment, in what order to unpack them.

A A

Anyone who has had to move to a new apartment at least once in their life knows the feeling of “prostration” that arises when looking at numerous things in closets, bedside tables and shelves. Moving is not in vain “equal to one fire” - some things are lost, some beat and break on the road, and some just disappear somewhere in an unknown way. There is no need to talk about the amount of effort and nerves expended.

To your attention - the main secrets of the correct move!

Preparing to move - what to do first?

The most common mistake people make is packing at the last minute. It would seem, “Yes, everything will be in time!”, But - alas and ah - the result of the fees in the last hours before the arrival of the car is always equally deplorable.

Therefore, it is better to start preparing in advance.

About a month before the planned move, the most important things to do are:

  • Terminate all contracts (note - with the landlord, with companies providing cable TV, telephone, Internet, etc.) so that in the new apartment you are not required to pay money for services that continue to be provided in the old one under existing contracts.
  • Throw away everything you don't need , and everything that can interfere with the new owners.
  • Clearly define the date of the move , conclude an agreement with the relevant moving company and inform those who will help you with the move to your new home.
  • Sell furniture (clothes, washing/sewing machine, other things) that you don't want to take with you, but that still look pretty decent. It’s better not to set high prices so that you don’t have to leave these things for later. old apartment is free. It’s better to let them “fly away” at a modest price than no one will buy them at all. And remember: if you haven’t used a thing for more than six months, then you don’t need it - feel free to get rid of it in any convenient way.

One week before moving:

  1. We pack all the things that you will not need in the near future.
  2. Throw away the excess.
  3. We begin to disassemble things, products and furniture in the kitchen.
  4. We buy disposable plates / forks to calmly remove all the dishes from the kitchen.
  5. We connect the Internet in a new apartment so that on the day of the move we do not frantically call companies for this purpose, running between boxes with a useless router.
  6. We clean carpets and wash curtains (save yourself energy in a new place), as well as rewash things that require it.
  7. We do a general cleaning in a new apartment, so as not to waste time on this after the move.

One day before moving:

  • We send children to their grandmother (friends).
  • Defrost the refrigerator.
  • We deal with the keys to the old and new housing ( mailboxes, garages, gates, etc.).
  • We take meter readings (note - we take pictures).
  • We collect the rest of the things.

7 secrets of preparing for the move, which will make your life easier and the fees themselves

  • Revision. Moving is a great way to get rid of excess junk. Starting to sort things to pack them for the move, immediately put a large box “to throw away” or “give to the neighbors”. Surely, you have things (clothes, tiles, lamp, toys, etc.) that you do not need in a new apartment. Give them to those in need and do not drag excess trash into a new apartment. Toys can be given to an orphanage, decent things can be sold on the relevant sites, and old blankets / rugs can be taken to a dog shelter.
  • Box with documents. We collect it especially carefully so that we can take it with us to the car on the day of the move. Put all the documents that you have into folders, label them and put them in one box. Naturally, you need to do this not the day before the move.
  • Box of "1st Necessity". So we label it. In this necessary box, when moving, you can easily find a first aid kit, toothbrushes and toilet paper, a set of change of clothes for each family member, the most necessary products (sugar, salt, coffee / tea), towels, pet food and other important things.
  • Box with valuables. Here we put all our gold with diamonds, if any, and other valuable items that are expensive or have a different value for you personally. This box should also be taken with you (we don’t shove it into the general “heap” in the truck, but take it with us to the salon).
  • Disassemble the furniture. Do not rely on chance and do not be too lazy to take it apart, so that later you do not cry over a torn sofa, a broken table and chips on a rare chest of drawers. old furniture it makes no sense to disassemble and drag it with you from chipboard - just distribute it to your neighbors or leave it near the garbage heap (whoever needs it will pick it up himself).
  • Do not make large purchases in the week before moving. Do not make food stocks either - this is excess weight and space in the truck. It is better to replenish the bins in a new place.
  • Prepare food the day before moving (there will be no time to cook!) and pack it in a cooler bag. Nothing is more inspiring in a new place after a move than a delicious dinner.

Collection and packing of things for the move - boxes, bags, tape

Collecting things that you have acquired in an old apartment even for 1 year is almost impossible in 1 day.

Therefore, the ideal time to "start" - a week before moving. The most important thing when collecting things is packaging.

Therefore, we start with boxes and other items for a comfortable move:

  1. We are looking for or buying cardboard boxes (preferably sturdy and with holes for easy carrying). Most often, boxes are given away for free in hypermarkets or local stores (ask store administrators). Estimate the volume of your things and take boxes according to this volume. On average, it takes about 20-30 large boxes to pack things from a 2-room apartment in which a large family with pets lives. It is not recommended to take giant boxes - they are inconvenient to carry and difficult to lift, in addition, they often tear under the weight of things.
  2. Do not spare money for a wide quality adhesive tape! You will need it in in large numbers, and not just to seal boxes. And preferably with a dispenser, then the work will go much faster.
  3. Also, you can not do without cardboard "gaskets" (newspaper, wrapping paper), twine, ordinary stretch thin film and a pack of transparent bags.
  4. Special film with "pimples" , which everyone likes to click so much, we buy in large quantities.
  5. Multi-colored markers and stickers will not interfere either.
  6. For packing furniture you need a dense fabric (old curtain sheets, for example), as well as thick film (as for greenhouses).
  7. For heavy items, we allocate bags and suitcases (the boxes may not withstand them), or we put the weights in small and strong boxes, after which we carefully fix them with tape and twine.

General work plan:

  • We reinforce all boxes with good adhesive tape, paying special attention to the bottom of the container. You can also make pens out of it if there are no holes on the boxes themselves (or you can make these holes yourself with a clerical knife).
  • We allocate separate room(or part of it) for packed items.
  • We buy a notebook for notes, where there will be all the information on bills, movers, counters and the things themselves.

On a note:

If you use costumes, you will be glad to know that there are cardboard "cupboards" for safe transportation expensive things right on the hangers.

How to move and not forget anything - lists of things, labeling boxes and much more

In order not to search painfully for a long time in a new apartment for clothespins or tights in all the boxes that no one ever takes apart right away (usually it takes from a week to a month, and for especially lucky ones - up to a year), Use the rules of proper packing of things:

  • We mark the boxes with stickers and markers. For example, red is for the kitchen, green is for the bathroom, and so on. Do not forget to duplicate each box in a notebook.
  • Be sure to put the number on the box (on each side of the box, so that later you don’t have to twist it in search of a number!) and duplicate it in a notebook along with a list of things. If you are not shy about movers and are not afraid that “things will be stolen”, then a list with things can also be glued to the box. In a notebook, you should have all the boxes with all the lists of things. The numbering of the boxes is also useful in that it will be easier for you to check in a new place whether all the things have been brought into the apartment.
  • Life hack: not to look for clothespins and washing powder, pack them right in the drum washing machine. Tea and sugar can be put in a teapot, and a pack of coffee can be put in a box with a Turkish coffee grinder. The cat carrier can hold bedding, bowls and pet food. And so on, with other things.
  • When folding wires from appliances and gadgets, try not to confuse them. In a separate box - a scanner with wires, in another - a computer with its own wires, in separate packages, phones and other gadgets - each with its own charger. If you are afraid to get confused, immediately take a picture of the area where the wires are connected to the equipment. This cheat sheet can make life easier for you after you move.
  • Load bedding separately with towels and blankets with pillows.
  • Don't forget to set aside a separate toolbox as well. and little things needed for repairs, you will need it almost immediately after moving.

House moving - preparing furniture for transportation

Do not rely on "strong" furniture and "caring" loaders.

If your furniture is dear to you, then take care of its safety before moving.

  • Everything that is disassembled is disassembled, packaged and labeled. For example, we disassemble the table into parts, each one is packed in a special thick paper or cardboard ( perfect option- pimply film), each detail is marked with the letter "C" (table). We put the accessories from the table in a separate bag, twist it and fix it on one of the parts. Ideally, if you can fix all the details together or put them in narrow boxes. Don't forget the instructions! If they are preserved, put them in a bag with fittings, so that later it would be easier to assemble furniture. Place furniture keys and other quick assembly tools in the 1st Essentials box (described above).
  • We wrap sofas and armchairs with thick fabric , on top with a thick film and wrap it with tape. We do the same with mattresses.
  • We wrap all handles on doors and drawers cling film or foam rubber so as not to scratch other things.
  • If you do not pull out the drawers from the chest of drawers (table) be sure to secure them so that they do not fall out when carrying. Also fix all the doors on the furniture - on the kitchen and so on.
  • Remove all glass and mirrors from furniture and pack separately . Usually they fight first if the owners leave them in the closets.

If you are sending things to another city by container, then pay special attention to packing furniture and boxes!

Moving to a new apartment and pets - what you need to remember?

Of course, the ideal option is to send pets and children to relatives during the move. Firstly, it will be easier for parents, and secondly, it will protect children and animals from accidental injuries.

But if this is not possible, then use the "reminder" for moving with pets:

  1. Don't swear at pets. For them, the move itself is stressful. Their attention to things and boxes is quite natural. Don't yell or yell. Remember that they will not feed themselves.
  2. Give the animals something to distract them while gathering and running around with the boxes. - a separate box for cats (they love them), toys, bones for dogs.
  3. In advance (a couple of weeks) resolve all issues with the veterinarian, if any. Update the information on the chip (note - phone number, address).
  4. For transporting fish: pour the water from the aquarium into a bucket with a ventilated lid (transplant the fish there too), and transfer the vegetation from it to another container, adding the same water. Divide the soil into bags. The aquarium itself - rinse, dry, wrap with a "pimple" film.
  5. For transporting birds: we wrap the cage with cardboard, and on top with a warm and dense cloth (birds are afraid of drafts).
  6. Rodents can be transported in their own cages , but it is recommended to insulate them if it is too cold outside. In the heat, on the other hand, choose a place for transportation in which it will not be too hot and stuffy (so that the animals do not suffocate).
  7. Do not feed dogs and cats right in front of the road , be sure to walk the dogs, and remove the drinkers for the duration of transportation - or, if it's hot, replace them with wet sponges.
  8. For cats and small dogs, it is better to use rigid carriers. Naturally, it is not recommended to transport them to new house in the cargo compartment of the car. The best option is to carry pets on your lap.

And do not forget to take a couple of days off to move and unload things in a new place. Moving after a day's work is an ordeal.

Site site thanks you for your attention to the article! We would love it if you share your feedback and tips in the comments below.

You will need

  • Cardboard boxes, adhesive tape, marker, notepad, packing ropes, polystyrene balls, wrapping paper, packing rags, screwdriver or screwdriver, clerical knife.

Instruction

Decide whether you will use the services of a moving company and, if so, to what extent. Usually, it is reasonable to resort to the services of professionals if, in the presence of free funds, there is sorely not enough time for careful all the details. Managers of the moving company will control all stages: the process of preparing for the move, the transportation itself, and even the final stage of the move, which consists in installing furniture and oversized cargo in a new place.

Get rid of those whose transportation to a new place does not make any sense. Having decided on the date of transportation, order the transport with which it is more convenient for you to move. You can download all the property at a time, down to the smallest detail, or you can move things in small parts. It all depends on the volume and dimensions of the transported belongings, as well as on the remoteness of the moving place. The largest, of course, are intercity transportation.

Pack your items. All of them except household appliances and furniture, it is more convenient to transport in cardboard boxes. For ease of orientation in a huge number of boxes in a new place, it is necessary to think over a system for labeling them. There are several ways to resolve this issue. You can complete the boxes and sign them in accordance with the purpose of the items they contain, for example, “books”, “papers”, “dishes”, “ winter clothes". And you can mark the boxes according to the principle of the room for which these things are intended, for example, “bathroom”, “kitchen”, etc. It is better to fold and label essential items separately so that these boxes are immediately conspicuous.

Prepare your furniture for the move. The most competent thing is to disassemble everything that can be disassembled. In this case, the furniture occupies a smaller volume, and in addition, it does not deform. This applies to most cabinet furniture, and if desired, you can also dismantle the built-in furniture. All fittings are carefully removed, assembled, packed and attached to the parts of the disassembled furniture or also marked. If cabinets, racks and chests of drawers are transported as a set, then remove protruding and removable parts from them - handles, shelves, etc. The boxes are usually taken out or tightly sealed with tape, the same is done with the doors. Particular attention should be paid to the glass details of furniture.

Pack household appliances and electronics according to the manufacturer's recommendations (they are usually listed in the instruction manual). If a moving company is engaged in transportation, demonstrate to its representative the working condition of the equipment.

note

In order to avoid the troubles associated with the loss of cargo or its damage during transportation performed by a moving company, contact companies that have an excellent reputation and positive reviews.

Useful advice

Simultaneously with the labeling of the boxes, you can maintain a kind of pivot table, which will reflect all the contents of each of them. In this case, for the convenience of unpacking at the place of arrival, it is better to number the boxes.

For many, moving to a new apartment is associated with natural disaster. Fuss, a lot of boxes, the inability to find the right utensils - few people will cheer up such things. However, if you plan carefully, relocation can be easy and painless for you.

Instruction

It is better to start gathering right in the morning, because you need to leave time for cleaning and placing items in new places. It is advisable to choose a day off for this and enlist the support of friends in advance. Get enough sleep the night before to keep you fresh and full of energy on the day of the move.

Before moving things and furniture, do a general cleaning in the new apartment. Of course, you can do this after the move, but numerous boxes and trunks will interfere with you.

Usually moving begins with packing things. And then you discover a lot of items of clothing, dishes and souvenirs, the existence of which you did not even suspect. This is a great reason to get rid of them and not to carry unnecessary things to a new apartment. After all, if you could do without them for so long, you are unlikely to need them in the future.

It's great if you have large cardboard boxes left over from buying household appliances. Otherwise, you can call on friends and even bypass the nearest stores. They will probably be able to help you. Sign each box: dishes, clothes, books and start putting things in the appropriate boxes. This will help you quickly unpack your belongings in a new apartment and find the item you need.

Cutlery can be stored in pots and pans to save space. And in order not to spoil small household appliances, it will be better if you wrap them in towels.

Wrap upholstered furniture film. Be sure to tie cabinets and bedside tables that you did not dismantle before moving so that the door does not suddenly open during the journey and the furniture does not break.

To transport things, you can ask friends and acquaintances who own cars for help. Or you can use the services of companies that will not only transport your belongings by truck, but also help bring heavy boxes to the floor.

In a new apartment, the first thing to do is to equip the bedroom. You will be tired, unpacking may take several days, and you need to rest. Set the bed, wipe the bedside tables with a damp cloth. Get out bed linen and pajamas (they should be prepared in advance). Open the windows and air out your new bedroom. Now you can live in the apartment.

Yesterday I left the house, the door slammed shut, I missed the bus, my wallet was pulled out of my pocket. And today I won the lottery, they gave me a bonus at work, and turned it on at home hot water. Why does it happen?

Instruction

Not every day is good for a change in life. The numbers have long been known. There are even special occult teachings that explain and list the meanings of various numbers. According to them, you need to move on the 2nd, 8th, 11th, 14th, 16th, 21st and 25th. It is strongly not recommended to go to the new house 5, 12, 13, 19, 22, 26 or 29.

Each person has his own lucky number. It is easy to calculate using certain formulas. If you already know this number, wait until it appears on the calendar, and feel free to hit the road. It neutralizes the negative from the previous paragraph.

In many flip and wall calendars, they now write in which sign the Moon is on each specific day of the month. If the night luminary is in Taurus, feel free to go beyond the threshold. Great prospects and a successful move await you. On the contrary, when the Earth's satellite passes through Leo, Capricorn or Scorpio, do not go anywhere, but sit quietly at home near the TV. No change in location at this time will bring anything good. The rest of the zodiac signs are indifferent to your housewarming party.

The Russian people have an interesting one. She claims that those who set off on a journey during the rain will have a good road and pleasant impressions upon arrival at the final destination of the trip. So, a little rain when moving should not scare you. It is enough just to cover the cardboard boxes with a film and do not leave upholstered furniture for a long time. open sky.

Time is divided into days, weeks and years. It is common knowledge that Monday is a hard day. Do not rush to start any business at this time. Also bring nothing good moving, started on Wednesday or Friday. These are the days when it is desirable not to start any new business.

Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday are great times to move. All problems are solved by themselves. Nothing beats, and if it beats, then at random. No injury or breakage. One big holiday. Especially on Thursday. Because on Friday you will recover a little from moving at work, and on Saturday you will put your new home in order. Believe me, on this day you will need not less, but much more strength and patience.

You can’t move on Sunday, because this day should be devoted to rest, self-knowledge and preparation for a new work day. Having discarded these arguments and nevertheless arrived at a new place on Sunday, you will not have time to arrange even the most necessary things, and on Monday morning you will have to leave for work from an uncleaned apartment.

To move into a new apartment, first make a move plan. Consider everything important details. Pay special attention to packaging, this will avoid damage. Remember that there are some signs.

Fuss, haste and the lack of a built-in sequence will unbalance even the most balanced person. Therefore, it is important to know exactly where to start moving to another city, and try to build a detailed algorithm of actions. The correct trajectory of the planned fees will help save strength for the start of a new stage in life.

The first and most important stage is emotional preparation.

Regardless of the reasons for the move (job change, family circumstances, the desire to radically change your life), the decision has already been made and the point of the new place of residence.

At the thought of the volume of upcoming activities, light jitters and emotional panic begin. Therefore, it is important to take the time to resolve your condition and create a positive attitude.

Of course, for everyone, even the most confident people, the uncertainty of a new life (social and climatic conditions cities, lack of acquaintances) scares. Especially if all family members (children, parents, pets) move with us, it is important to take care of the emotional comfort of everyone.

So remember:

  • You should not expect an instant solution to all problems from the move;
  • Certain difficulties will arise at the first time of adaptation.

Set yourself up for all the upcoming changes with a positive perception of events. Set goals for yourself and your loved ones for a positive turn in life, for opening up prospects for new acquaintances, events, positive changes in fate. After all, all difficulties have a wonderful property to end.

In this video, Marina Fedorova will tell step by step steps preparation for this process:

What do you need to move to another city?

This point of preparation for the move should be paid special attention. Things, this is of course important, but there are a lot of documentary issues and formalities that must be settled before the final departure to a new address.

  1. The passport: if the terms for changing the document are coming to an end, then it is better to immediately make an exchange in the “old” city, otherwise it will be impossible to do this at a new place of residence before obtaining permanent registration;
  2. Debts, loans, debts, fines, communal payments must be repaid before the change of registration and actual residence in order to avoid further documentary and judicial troubles;
  3. Collection of important documents: all passports (including foreign ones), certificates (of marriage, birth of children), diplomas, certificates, certificates, certificates and characteristics from the place of work and study of children, medical cards, vaccination certificates, poles, SNILS, driver's and pension certificates, military tickets, (ideally make more copies of documents);
  4. Upon arrival, try to register as soon as possible at the new address at the FMS office, re-register the car, register with the military registration and enlistment office, contact Pension Fund for re-issuance of documents, attach to the nearest clinic.

By preparing the folder with documents as much as possible and resolving formal issues before the move, we ensure that the likely difficulties in the new city are reduced.

And here is a list of what definitely not worth doing before moving to a new place of residence:

  1. Postpone the collection of things for the last days before departure;
  2. Buy large appliances, new furniture;
  3. Make large stocks of food (in order to avoid spoilage, it is better to shop at the place of arrival);
  4. Spend large amounts (it is desirable to have money in reserve, with the expectation of the first 2-month stay, especially when the situation with work is not clear).

In addition, try to study the future city (the Internet will always help) in terms of the availability and territorial location of social services, the transport system, medical care, and emergency services. Important phone numbers can now be written down on a piece of paper or scored in the phone's memory.

Algorithm of correct actions

To avoid turmoil, unnecessary fuss and fear of losing or forgetting something, let's approach the process of moving in a business style - we will draw up an algorithm of actions:

  • One month before moving: prepare contracts for the sale of new and current housing (or rent), document the contract with the carrier, throw out old things or put them up for sale (for example, pieces of furniture that will definitely not go with you to a new life);
  • During the week: we pack all the things that are not needed for the first time (do not spare too much, it is better to throw it away or give it to someone), buy disposable dishes, wash curtains, bedspreads, wash carpets;
  • Per day: we put the remaining small things, put the first aid kit, hygiene items.

What to pack for moving?

First you need to carefully stock up on packaging material and prepare tools (screwdrivers, screwdriver, scissors, stationery knife, markers, adhesive tape, ropes).

What kind of packaging do you need?

  • There are many boxes left in stores - feel free to ask for them, it's better than buying new ones or collecting (30 pieces should be enough);
  • Stock up on stretch film, bubble wrap, thick fabric, greenhouse film, newspapers, paper, bags;
  • Prepare bags and suitcases, bags.

Notepad is an indispensable assistant

Make an inexpensive investment in the upcoming moving process - buy a notebook (or notebook). This homemade organizer will save not only time, but also nerves.

Record in it:

  1. action algorithm;
  2. list of important cases;
  3. a list of documents to be prepared;
  4. information about the new point of stay;
  5. spending amounts;
  6. list of packed items;
  7. important addresses in the new city and phone numbers of people who can be contacted for help at first.

How to carry things when moving?

Things that are securely and properly packed are much more likely to arrive unharmed.

Let's sort size and fragility:

  • Furniture: it is advisable to disassemble and wrap with a thick cloth or pimply film, carefully collecting all the small parts in a box or bag. Be sure to mark with numbers, or sign. Mirrors are removed and packed separately. If the furniture is not disassembled, then we fix the opening elements: doors, drawers. Wrap upholstered large furniture with dense cloth, film on top and wrap tightly with tape;
  • Books: in small piles and rewound with tape, put in boxes;
  • Clothes and shoes: in bags and suitcases (vacuum packaging will help well for spaciousness);
  • Crockery and breakable objects: wrap each item with cardboard, newspaper, paper, put it in a box and prevent voids (block items with cardboard or bubble wrap);
  • Linens and other things made of fabric in large bags or bags;
  • Technique: wrap with air film and into boxes (ideally put together instructions and neatly wound wires);
  • household chemicals should be packaged separately.
  • Oily, coloring substances must also be transported separately.

And most importantly - all things should be numbered and written down in a notebook full content according to each box number.

Thinking about the safety of things, do not forget the most important thing - finally arrange a meeting for friends. Their good wishes and sincere faith in your new bright future is the first item on the list of "how to start moving to another city."

Video: proper organization and planning of your move

In this video, Olga Denisova will tell you how to properly plan and where to start the whole process:

Housewarming is a joyful event in the life of every family, but the very need to move and transport things from an old house to a new one causes not very pleasant emotions for many.

What is the best way to pack It is worth starting to prepare for the move 2-3 weeks in advance. At this time, you can audit your belongings and determine what you will take with you to a new apartment, and what is better to throw away or distribute to relatives and friends. You should not take with you something that you have not used for several years, even if at first glance it seems very necessary.

It is better to start gathering with things that you do not use very often in everyday life. You can pack them in cardboard boxes and bags in a week or two, and it is most convenient to fold the essentials just before moving.

In order to securely pack everything, get a sufficient number of cardboard boxes, bags, bags, tape and containers. Put the heaviest items in the smallest boxes, and the lightest items in the largest ones to make them easier to carry. The heavier the box, the thicker the tape should be to seal it. For convenience, it can also be tied with a rope. Pillows, blankets, clothes and other soft items are best placed in bags or vacuum bags. Air is pumped out of them, thanks to which things occupy less space. Be sure to sign the boxes in which you put things, for example: "Living room", "Kitchen", "Bedroom". In this case, both you and the workers will immediately understand which room to carry them to. You can also sign the boxes according to the type of things they contain: "Books", "Shoes", "Children's toys", etc.

Get a special notebook and make an inventory of the property. Note which items are in which box. This list will help you not to forget anything, and thanks to it you can quickly and easily find the right thing later.

Caution glass! Fragile items made of glass, porcelain or crystal should be packed very carefully. Those who have repeated experience of moving are advised to pack them in boxes as tightly as possible, after wrapping them with bubble wrap, paper or a soft cloth. The free space in the box must be filled with foam rubber or cotton wool. In this case, nothing will break during transportation. And do not forget to write on such a box in large letters that it contains glass.

Air bubble wrap should also be used to wrap furniture and appliances if you don't want it to be damaged in transit. In this case, the furniture must be disassembled and wrapped in several layers of film for each door and each shelf. In the same way, you should carefully pack your computer. Styrofoam can also be used for this, but the foam will make the computer box heavier.

When everything is almost assembled and ready, and the day of moving is approaching, the question arises whether to transport things on our own or turn to specialists. If you do not have a car, and relatives or friends cannot help you with the move, you can use the services of the so-called moving company. Moving companies (from the English moving - moving) provide services for the disassembly and assembly of furniture, packing of things and transportation of goods. Hiring a reputable company can save you a lot of time and hassle. Good moving companies usually have several teams. They must also have their own office and transport, including special furniture vans with soft walls. In such a van, furniture is attached in one specific position. Thanks to the protective material, it will not suffer even if the truck hits a bump or brakes hard. The cost of all services must be discussed in advance so that the workers do not issue you with a mind-blowing bill. Companies that value their reputation have a price list that indicates the types of work. Discuss with the representatives of the moving company how much the move will cost you, and conclude an agreement with them. The contract should specify not only the price of the services of the moving company, but also its responsibility for the safety of your belongings. This way you can avoid unpleasant surprises.

Independent moving Whether or not to use the services of moving companies is your choice. But even if you decide that you can do it on your own, there are certain points that you should consider. So, large items, furniture, and then smaller items are loaded into the car first. Flower pots should be loaded last. And if you are afraid that something will break, you should take these items with you to the salon. Furniture should also be brought into the apartment first. Moreover, it is worth starting from the most distant rooms, so that the furniture does not stand in the aisle and does not interfere with you. Try to unpack and assemble the furniture immediately after unloading and check if it is damaged. Be the last to bring in books, clothes, and boxes of odds and ends.

Folk signs about moving

Everyone knows that the first threshold of a new home should be crossed by your cat. But there are many other signs associated with the move. So, in Russia, after an animal entered a new house, the oldest member of the family had to enter after it. Also, our ancestors believed that a brownie lives in every house, which guards it, so when moving they tried to take it with them. To do this, it was necessary to take a broom from the old house, because according to folk beliefs it is behind the broom that the brownie lives. In the new house, the brownie was left some kind of treat or a saucer of milk for the night. Now some, in order for the brownie to move with the owners, use the usual cardboard box. In the old days, before leaving, the house was always cleaned - leaving garbage or some objects was considered a bad omen. In the same way, it was necessary to immediately wash the floors and wipe the dust in a new place. And a horseshoe was hung on the door for good luck. Those who are currently guided by the principles of the popular Feng Shui teaching believe that no family member should enter a new house empty-handed. Everyone must bring something to the new home.

According to Feng Shui in a new apartment, it is recommended to immediately open the windows, turn on the light and water for at least a few minutes in order to clear the room of negative energy. If there are any damages and imperfections in the house, they should be fixed as soon as possible. And if you find that during the move some of your things still broke, you should throw them away, especially if it is dishes. Leaving broken cups or plates is considered bad luck. By tradition, it is customary to celebrate housewarming twice - immediately after the move, together with the family and with the closest people, and the second time - with relatives and friends, when the owners have already got used to the new house a little.
