Schoolchild's corner: design, color selection and location in the interior of the children's room (93 photos). Furniture for a schoolchild's corner, tips for choosing a schoolchild's corner near the window in a small room

  • 13.06.2019

Every child dreams of his own personal corner where he can spend time doing his homework or just doing his favorite things. Such a place can be a schoolchild's corner, which, if desired, can be equipped in almost any, even a small apartment. This requires only a competent approach to space planning.

The choice of furniture for arranging student space depends on the area of the apartment, the number of rooms and children in the family.

Writing corner options

The main focus, as a rule, is on a desk with hanging shelves or desktop cabinets for placing textbooks and notebooks. And you can show imagination and translate into reality the most interesting options furniture placement.

Modern designers have developed a number of modular designs that perform several functions at the same time.

Such models represent a schoolchild's corner with a bed, in which the study area is combined with a sleeping place, shelving for books, wardrobes for clothes and toys. In the niche of the bed there can be additional drawers for bed linen.

Furniture for a girl's children's room can be made in delicate pastel colors and have an interesting configuration: with elements of a princess's castle or other fairy-tale characters.

A furniture set for a boy, designed in marine shades, may resemble a pirate ship with porthole doors and other "marine" details.

Furniture in the nursery for a teenager-schoolboy looks more serious and stylish. As the child grows, the interior also undergoes changes. It can be a laconic high-tech design or minimalism.

A functional corner table is placed by the window, and the bed can be replaced by a classic sofa. If there are two children in the family, then a practical option would be bunk bed saving space.

If the child does not have a separate room, the student's corner with a closet is located in the common room. It can be a small modular design with functional space.

To date, there are many companies involved in the manufacture of furniture to order. If pick up suitable option of those presented for sale is not possible, use the services of specialists. They will make furniture according to individual design, taking into account required dimensions and configuration.

If the student's corner is a costly purchase for family budget, take advantage of the installment payment that many provide furniture stores. After all, it is not always a short time it is possible to accumulate the amount necessary for the purchase.

Decorating a student's corner

Regardless of what kind of interior you want to embody in the children's room, it should contain the main elements of the student's workplace, which help to comfortably and fruitfully complete school assignments:

A desk or computer desk with a wide work surface that allows you to sit comfortably when doing written work. The table for the child is selected in accordance with his height. It is best to buy a table together with the student, so that he sits at the table, decides how much it suits him.

In addition, listening to the needs of the student when choosing furniture means making a purchase that he will be happy with, which will provide a desire to network for completing the lessons.

Computer chair providing shaping correct posture. The backrest of the chair should be adjustable in height, ensuring that the back is properly supported in the desired position.

Shelves or modules for placing books, notebooks, stationery and other educational supplies.

The child must be taught to order in the workplace. It is clear that order in things cannot exist if there are no places for their storage and convenient location. Auxiliary furniture should be easy to use, so it is better to place it so that the student can reach everything he needs without getting up from his chair.

All furniture should be of high quality and practical, because it is purchased not for one year. Drawers should be equipped with reliable fittings, slide smoothly and easily. After all, any shortcomings in the best way affect the concentration of the student when doing homework.

The design of the workplace can be done together with the child, let him mark everything as he wishes. In the case of a sleeping place in another room, a schoolchild's corner without a bed is arranged.

If there is only one room in the living room, you can purchase a compact corner computer desk with add-ons in the form of various shelves and small boxes. Another option for a rational layout is the location of the study space under the loft bed.

In case of an acute shortage of free space, a saving option would be folding table located against the wall. Above it, you just need to hang a couple of shelves for school supplies. Or you can use the place near the windowsill, which gives natural bright light, by placing on it a wide tabletop, suitable for two children.

Favorable shades in the design of the training place

For children, an emotional atmosphere is very important, conducive to calm, concentrated work. The correct color design of the room will help organize it. Green color has calming properties, and yellow - activates mental activity.

Remember your school youth, where green was always the predominant color in the classroom. It gives positive energy and creates a working atmosphere. It is worth remembering that busting green causes excessive relaxation, so do not overdo it with the design.

Yellow is a great option, it has a tonic effect, which is necessary for a schoolboy who is at home. It is best to make yellow accents on furniture and school accessories.

Bright colors, a combination of blue with red or orange, on the contrary, excites and makes it difficult to concentrate. In this connection, it is better not to use them in the design of the working area. In general, the interior should be discreet, creating favorable conditions for the working atmosphere.

Equipping the corner of the student, add home comfort, making the design not only practical, but also comfortable. Incorporate those elements into the decor that remind you of something pleasant and joyful, such as souvenirs from various trips and framed family photos.

Location selection

A key aspect in choosing the location of the student's corner is the presence of natural light. The window opening should be located to the left of the desktop - for right-handers, or to the right - for left-handers.

The main thing is that the light falls on the written plane from the side. If there are several children in the family, and there is no possibility of creating a couple of corners, then it is best to put a table in front of the window so that everyone has enough lighting.

At the onset of darkness, along with ceiling lights it is necessary to organize additional lighting of the workplace. A table lamp or luminaire with a bright but soft light can be placed on the side of a table or placed on a wall.

It is good if the artificial light source is equipped with a swivel design that allows you to adjust its height and direction of light incidence.

It is desirable to separate workplace from the rest of the room so that the child is not distracted by foreign objects when doing homework.

Psychologists do not encourage the complete separation of the working area, as this creates a closed space, negatively affecting the child's psyche and suppressing performance. A rational option may be a screen that creates zoning space.

As it became clear, creating a schoolchildren's corner is not an easy task that requires a special approach. All the same, the future of the student depends on its correct decision. In a rationally organized corner, the student will not only cope well with the assimilation of school material, but will also be able to maintain his health and always be in a good mood.

Every person needs working space where he could concentrate, distract from other worries and carry out current affairs. For a student, a school is still work, therefore, to complete the lessons, he also needs to organize a separate zone.

A sensitive parent will definitely take this fact into account and will try to provide his child with everything necessary. The main attribute of this zone in the children's room is a desk. However, it is not always possible to successfully fit it into the interior: it can be bulky and occupy a significant part of the room, which is not at all convenient. In this case, compact furniture - student corner, would be a great solution. In addition to ergonomics, it also has high functionality; with its help, you can successfully organize the space.

Schoolchild's corner with bed and table: 3 in 1 option.

Determine the right place

Before proceeding with the selection of appropriate furniture options, you need to evaluate the room: its size, layout, window location.

The first thing to consider is the natural light source.

Tip: it is desirable that the light falls on the work surface from the window on the left side, if the child is right-handed, and vice versa.

The table may also be located. This option is good for families where two children share the nursery. So the surface of the table can be combined with the window sill, using its usable area.

Corner without a bed

Second important point- correct zoning.

Its location also should not be closed: good decision will place the furniture in such a way that the child can see part of the room or a street panorama from behind the table. You should not limit your child's visibility in the hope of increasing his concentration of attention, so you will achieve the exact opposite effect.

Types of school corners

To date, the variations in performance are so extensive that it can be extremely difficult to decide and stop your choice on one particular option. To accept correct solution will help and options for organizing a training area with a photo.

1. Student corner with a bed.

This option includes several useful components at once: a desk, a bookcase for storing books, a small wardrobe-case for clothes, several shelves and a bed - all this makes the children's school corner multifunctional and practical.

2. Corner table - window sill.

It is a countertop mounted in the window sill or located directly on it. This is a great option for decorating the workplace, and for optimizing the room in a limited space.

3. Corner with storage systems.

As a rule, these options are equipped with drawers, shelves and all kinds of compartments for storing school supplies and personal items. They are very useful, because they are able to accustom the child to the order in the organization of their activities.

Features of choice for a boy and a girl

Of course, when designing a child’s workspace, it is important to take into account not only his tastes and wishes, but also the gender of the child.

The corner of a schoolgirl can be made in light, pastel colors. The cream color looks nice. you can choose pink, purple color. The furniture product often has carvings, ornaments or floral patterns.

The school corner for the girl is equipped with many drawers for storing school supplies and personal gizmos - diaries, notepads with notes, etc. In other words, it combines elegance and convenience.

The school corner for the boy has a somewhat ascetic design. Traditional light blue and blue will always be a popular choice among parents of boys. The study area in brown, gray will also look good in a boy's room.

The choice of furniture color depends on general design room, its tone.

If two guys live in the room at once, it is recommended to consider multifunctional options: for example, a corner combined with a bunk bed.

The loft bed can be additionally equipped with a wardrobe, chest of drawers, shelves. However, this type of furniture will not be very comfortable, because the children will have to do their homework in turn.

It will also help to solve the problem of placing two students at the same time, but on condition that the layout of the room allows you to install this option in accordance with all the rules.

If for some reason you cannot afford to buy this type of furniture, you can make a table yourself. So you will not only save some money, but also create an interesting and unique design desired item furniture. The video below will introduce you to the stages of work and tell you about all the intricacies of self-production.

Homework requires a lot of time, so students spend long hours in their work corner. It is very important to make sure that your child's workspace is properly organized, because not only academic success, but also health depends on it. And also - it should be beautifully organized, because aesthetics is a mood. In order for work to be a joy (and study is quite hard work), it is necessary that the schoolchild's corner be bright, optimistic, original, decorated to the taste of the child. It should be almost the most beautiful place in the children's room, where there is all the very best, namely:

How to equip a student corner

The desk is the basis of the work area, all work on the preparation of lessons takes place on it. It is best, of course, to buy a new, non-bulky, modern table light shade. You can also use a computer one, and buy a separate cabinet on wheels for it.

Children love everything bright and new. That's why you should not put an old polished table, or, moreover, a kitchen one. It should be a comfortable and ergonomic table, and after all, it is not bought for one season. Behind beautiful table and work harder!

04

Ergonomic standards have not been canceled either, so the table must be positioned correctly. You can not put the table close to the window, the distance between the window and the table must be at least 25 cm. Otherwise, the light from the window will be strongly reflected from the tabletop.

05

And it is better to position the table relative to the window so that the light mainly falls on the left.

The table must be large enough (the table top is at least 120 cm long), otherwise it will be difficult to place everything you need on the table.

To make it easier to sort study items and make the design more fun, you can make the drawers of the table in different colors or use different fittings.

Armchairs are usually ergonomically better suited for long sitting than chairs, they are mobile, they usually have soft upholstery and the height can be adjusted. The chair, on the other hand, has constant dimensions and is not always equipped with armrests.

09

Is it a chair or an armchair, the main thing is that they fit in height. The chair is suitable if the elbow of the lowered straight arm of the child who sits on this chair is 5-6 cm lower than the table. The feet should reach the floor, if they do not reach, you need a special small footstool. The lower back of the child should be pressed against the back of the chair - this gives support to the spine.

Now a computer is the most used thing in teaching, and it is impossible to imagine a modern student without a computer. On the table, it must be placed so that the distance from the monitor to the eyes is at least 70 cm.

Photo 11 of 24

Not every tabletop allows this, so when buying a table, it is better to focus on models with a pull-out keyboard shelf. Then this rule will be strictly observed, since the width of the shelf is also added to the width of the countertop.

Photo 12 of 24

Of course, the computer should be with a flat screen - it saves space and gives less harmful radiation at times. The sliding shelf allows you to keep the keyboard clean.

There must be a book stand on the table. The distance from the eyes to the book should be at least 30 cm, and when the book just lies on the table, the distance from the eyes to the top and bottom lines is different, which makes the eyes strain.

In addition to the book stand, there should be a large enough stand for stationery: pencils, brushes, felt-tip pens, pens, scissors, erasers, paper clips, etc. This stand should be bright, original, and it should be convenient to use.

Of course you need table lamp- better with a small lampshade, and better with a flexible "leg". It should illuminate well, but not take up much space on the table. You need to put an energy-saving light bulb, since ordinary incandescent bulbs get very hot.

You can also put on the table a multi-tiered tray for papers, notebooks that are currently in use. On the side you can attach a hook for a school bag.

The rest of the desk is better not to clutter up. Clutter on the table causes confusion in thoughts and discourages the desire to study.

Next to the desk should be a rack for textbooks, books, notebooks, boxes. It can be open or closed, the main thing is that it should be just a rack, and not bookshelf because the rack holds a lot more items. It can be placed next to the table or fence off the work area with it, like a screen - it all depends on the individual location of the work area.

Hang a special board on the wall on which you can pin notes, pictures, postcards, lesson schedules.

You can also hang a magnetic or slate board, or a combination of both. Then the student will be happy to plan his affairs, each time compiling a “collage” on such a board.

It makes sense to hang a few bright hanging cups, small boxes or an interesting sachet, attach separate hooks so that you can hang something. You can simply pull a decorative cord, and pin information on it with bright clothespins.

In addition, a small cozy rug and a soft ottoman or bean bag chair will highlight the working area, on which you can sit in moments of relaxation or read something. Get a resting place in the "mini" format.

A small living area, in this case a one-room apartment, leaves very few options for redevelopment when parents combine one room with a child. However, changes should only occur because new life brings with it a lot of responsibilities on the part of the parents and a lot of impressions on the part of the child.

But do not be upset in advance, because today experienced designers have created the most successful techniques that are easy to implement even in small apartment. The main goal of redevelopment is to use every meter functionally so that each family member finds his own place to his liking.

Efficient Zoning Rules

To combine an adult zone and a children's corner in one room, it is important to know the laws of ergonomics, because sometimes they are simple, but effective ways able to expand the space. Let's look at a few rules for effective zoning and visual magnification spaces:

  • The use of arches, podiums, shelving, mechanical partitions perfectly copes with the task of zoning. At the same time, they perform the role of separation and beneficial functionality;
  • Mirrors are often used by designers in their projects to expand a room. Thanks to the mirror, the interior objects are mirrored due to this, the room seems larger. It is even better to use light colors of the walls and ceiling;
  • Furniture module. The choice of furniture should be based on its mobility and compactness, especially with the current choice of goods from European manufacturers, this is easy to do. For example, it is better to replace the bed with a folding sofa, which has a secret place for linen..
  • Make a coup on your balcony or loggia. By glazing and insulating this part of the apartment, you can lengthen and increase your area.

Properly designed interior depending on the age of the child

Children grow and their interests change with age, what was interesting in infancy is no longer impressive at four years old. Therefore, differences must have their original history from birth to school years.

A children's corner in a one-room apartment in the first two years of life cannot be firmly called the property of the child, since at this age the main furniture is a crib and a changing station.table combined with chest of drawers.

Further more. How older child the more you have to change your priorities. Starting from the age of two, it's time to look at furniture that is more interesting for children: bright shelves, pictures of animals in frames, crafts and more. Another important feature is lighting.

There should be a lot of light, so it is advisable to place the crib near the window, but not right next to the windowsill. Very often, the children's area, when the child is still very small, merges with the adult one due to the fact that the crib is placed next to the adult's bed. In this case, just separate the area with a comfortable small chair and a bright rug.

Preschooler and his apartment

Here you can no longer get by with a crib and a chest of drawers, a preschooler needs a table, a full-fledged place on a teenage bed, shelves for stationery.

Here are a few tips for using Odnushkawhen zoning a room:

  • Opt for beds with drawers;
  • The sliding wardrobe is a great idea for a common dressing room, it can be built into a niche;
  • Fence off the part of the room where the child will be located with decorative curtains.

The question of the style of the room worries most residents who have children. Properly decorate a room in a classic and modern style. devoid of superfluous items Scandinavian style also suitable, in view of its simplicity and lightness, every year it is chosen by more and more designers to create a warm and calm interior.

7 years - new changes

To equip a schoolchildren's children's corner means to make it as independent as possible from the spaciousness of the parent's corner. Children grow up and they need more and more personal space. You can create a partition in several ways:

  • Raise a rack;
  • mount sliding doors or heavy curtains made of durable textiles;
  • Put a closet on the border between the parent sleeping sofa and the children's corner.

In the arrangement of interior items and furniture, one thing can be said - mobile and compact designs operate here. For example, a bunk bed with a table below to save extra square meters for another purpose. As for the decoration of the walls, you can safely give the choice to the child, since the wallpaper with mini bears or some other animals from infancy will no longer interest him. The personal furniture of the child is a manifestation of his individuality, so give him the full right to choose.

Mistakes to avoid in a child's room when decorating

A nursery in a one-room apartment, even if there is nowhere to roam to realize the desired fantasies, can be made multifaceted and functional, look at the photos in which the zoning of the room between parents and the child organically combines interior items. However, there are some mistakes to be avoided:

  • Electric lighting. Avoid cold light as it makes you feel cold and restless. The warm tone of the lamps will give the room coziness and warmth.
  • Too bright colors. Making a room defiant is unforgivable if you decide to combine all the colors of the rainbow in one room. In such a room, not only is it difficult to be in it, it will be impossible to concentrate.
  • The most expensive thing parents are often ready to buy for the arrangement of their child. But do not rush and think about whether it is rational to make wall cladding with excessively expensive wallpaper. Those who have children know that it is better to postpone such an undertaking until preschool age child, as there is a good chance that the walls can be painted, scuffed and painted. Create a beautiful atmosphere with crafts, such as inexpensive, light-colored wallpaper that will make an impression when decorated with butterflies. They can be painted or pasted on by purchasing them from a stationery store.

  • Placing a bed near a window. A window, even the most reliable one, is often a place of drafts, so it is better to step back from it at least a meter.
  • Floor covering - carpet. Carpet, no doubt, is a warm material, not slippery, but spilling water from paints or compote on it, you are unlikely to be able to clean it completely.
  • Heavy curtains near the window. Do not decorate the window with voluminous curtains, they take up free space.

Safety in the children's room

Creating the comfort of a child's room, it is important to foresee all possible dangerous corners in advance. In an effort to make the nursery bright and colorful, do not forget that often children are mobile and swift in assimilation of a new space, so it is very difficult to keep track of them.

Sports corner for a child

Each child is gifted with certain abilities and each is talented in his own way, but almost every child loves sports, which include: climbing stairs, a rope, a horizontal bar, etc. In order for the design one-room apartment combined a sports corner, work zone must be properly designed, because often the wall bars are a sports corner.

It would be logical to install this corner opposite the bed against the wall, and put a voluminous mat down, this moment is especially important if you teach the child from an early age. Very often for small children they offer small slides and swings. In our case, they can be bought removable, which are then removed and hidden in a secret place.

To date, manufacturers of sports corners offer their consumers special wall mounts, on which a bicycle or scooter can be easily hung.

Space for the child is an important component in the holistic surroundings of the room. Interior design is not an easy task, but it can be solved. Thoroughly prepared parents have all the powers to develop their child as a worthy person, the main thing is not to infringe on his personal space. Check out the photos of designers who offer to skillfully combine the lives of parents and the younger generation.

Today, readers will learn how a desk, chalkboard, and a few cute accessories can create a cozy kids' office in a small wardrobe niche and open up a room.

So, I decided to set up a school closet nook and do it my way.

This workplace will be for my 10 year old daughter in her bedroom. She is a bit of a tomboy with us, and three or four shelves are enough for her to store clothes. We have many other closets in the house, including a large built-in one in our room.

And in her room, next to the equipped place, there is a wall cabinet in which she can hang clothes. Her room also has a wall with eight shelves and eight drawers, as well as a large drawer at the bottom of the bed. Thus, there is plenty of storage space.

If she was more of a girly fashionista, I would not have dared to take this step. I firmly believe that the interior of the children's room, like the house as a whole, should be arranged in accordance with our aspirations.

My children's closets were often dead zones full of clutter, so I don't see a problem in using this space to serve our needs in a more useful way. In this case, moving her daughter's desk into a closet allowed her to open up the entire room.

The new workspace actually helped her keep the room tidier than before. Here's how we set up our office in a closet.

The project began with a typical wardrobe with two sliding doors. We tested the future office in a closet in theory for two weeks - installed old table to see if my daughter would work there. The daughter was happy with this rearrangement and the way her room began to look.

I emptied the closet, painted the space, installed lighting, hung shelves and set up a table, creating an organized and fun space for my 10 year old daughter.

I put in fun accessories and bright décor items—glass jars of craft supplies, stationery, and a plant—to personalize the space. Any of these points can easily be changed as her tastes change as she grows older. At the same time, there is plenty of storage space that will help my daughter stay organized for years to come.

We wanted to create a space for homework, creativity, reading and entertainment. Therefore, there should be shelves for storage, bins with pencils and markers, and plenty of space on the table.

When the closet was empty, I started by removing the doors, shelves, and clothes hanging rod. If you're worried about reselling your home, just save these pieces so you can put them back when you need them. My all-time favorite team came to watch my mom use the crowbar to help clean up the mess. Make sure all screws and nails are removed if you are doing something like this in a child's bedroom.

I then painted the entire cabinet space, including the ceiling, with two coats of Rust-Oleum chalkboard paint. After the paint had dried, it was necessary to prepare its surface for use as a school board. To do this, I rubbed a piece of chalk into the paint over its entire area, after which I left it like that during the day. Then I rubbed it with an eraser and also left it during the day. After that I washed everything down with a damp cloth.

The cabinet space is 1.9 m wide and 50 cm deep. I had enough space to set up a 1.65 m long desktop, as well as a shelving unit from Ikea on the side of it, arranged in such a way that it was not visible from the outside. The 10 cm gap from the shelving to the back of the former cabinet is ideal for storing large items such as board games.

I installed a rail in the center of the former closet. The black finish of the board was useful for marking the studs that attached the rail to the wall.

Then came two floating hanging shelves and two Astrid wall lights from Ikea.

I bought poplar plywood, cut for me by the nice gentlemen at Home Depot, which will now serve as a table. After making sure the board fit perfectly, I sanded it down, applied one coat of primer and two coats of Benjamin Moore Semi Gloss White. I primed the entire piece of wood, but only painted the top, bottom, and leading edge, as these are the only sides of the desktop that will be visible.

I attached the table with four planks, used to reinforce and support surfaces such as shelves or tables. In my case, I screwed it into the slats to support the table board to give it a floating look. And I left a small space between the table top and the wall so that the wires from the lamps could hang down.

I measured so that the desktop surface was 76 cm from the floor, and also made sure that it was flush with one of the shelving shelves. I then installed the bracing bars, added the L-brackets for extra support, and laid down the table board, screwing it in with screws underneath.

Since there is a shelving unit on the left side, the table top does not reach the left wall, so it is not possible to place a plank on it. So I put a small prop behind the door frame inside the closet. She is not visible from front side and supports the front left corner.

Here is a view from under the table showing how the fasteners are connected under the table.

I added wooden lath with fastenings on the front side of the table top. It was screwed into the table from below and helps keep the middle of the surface from sagging. This plank fits nicely between the table front and the door frame, giving the whole office a more finished look.

After the issue with the wall lamps was resolved, traitorous cords ran down the wall. I needed a way to make them disappear. I bought a special hiding cord with an adhesive layer - a plastic D-shaped tube, hollow in the middle, with room for one wire.

I cut the size I needed for two of my cords and covered them with two coats of the same paint as the wall. Once they were dry, I glued them to the wall with an adhesive layer above the table.

Then I gathered the wires under the table and tacked them with cable nails, those big round top staples that can safely hold the cords. This is the perfect way to keep your cables hidden along the baseboard or attached to the surface of the furniture. Both wires from the lights under the table now meet at the surge protector.

The office is ready! The steps to create it were not too complicated, but it took a lot of time. The result is a unique and fun space that is a hit with my 10 year old daughter and would work for an adult as well if desired.

The bedroom is full of drawers and shelves. A large wall occupies one of the walls entirely and makes up for the loss of the wardrobe.

This built-in closet suits her for hanging clothes (I added a wardrobe rod to it). It looks small from the outside but actually reaches the ceiling on the inside.

Designer Christina Katos told us about the arrangement of a school office in the space of a closet at home.
