It is necessary to build and fill the slide at sub-zero temperatures

News of Tyumen and the Tyumen region - 21.12.2015

The most pleasant memory from childhood is, of course, winter fun. Games in the snow, sledding, skating, skiing and slides. We will talk about the latter in more detail and describe how from the snow and how to fill it correctly.

How to build a slide with your own hands in Tyumen

In practice, many faced a serious problem when. It either breaks up, then collapses, then pits form on it after pouring. We will teach you how to make the right slide yourself without any extra physical effort.

So, let's begin. To blind the slide yourself, you will need:

- Pure snow

- Water is cold)

- Shovel or stretcher

- Bucket, watering can

- broom

To make a hill of snow, you need to start from a few simple rules:

Choose a safe place

1) If you build it in kindergarten or in your backyard, you don't have to beware of nearby roads. And if you are making a slide in an unfenced area, then you need to choose a safe place. Away from the roadway, away from various obstacles, bushes, trees, fences, and so on, so as not to harm the child.

You need to build a hill from pure snow

2) After the place is determined, it is necessary to drag a lot of clean snow. The average and safest slide for children is from two to four meters. You can drag snow either with a stretcher or with a large shovel. We used a shovel. Let's say in advance to build a meter slide, it took us half an hour. Most of the time was spent on bringing the necessary amount of snow to the place. Then we collected the snow in one heap and formed a base from it - a hill.

How to make steps and sides of a snow slide

3) After the base, we make steps. They are easy to make with a shovel. It is necessary to compact first with your feet, and then form with a shovel. It is important to make them comfortable and small so that the child can easily climb to the top. By the way, the safe width of the steps is from fifty centimeters. Let's not forget about the sides. They can also be made with a shovel and hands. Choose the height based on the height and weight of your child. On average, the sides are made 10-30 centimeters.

How to fill a hill of snow

4) When the base of the slide is formed, we proceed to the most difficult process: pouring. The slope is filled only with cool water from a watering can, a hose with a spray nozzle or a bucket. It should be remembered that it is necessary to fill in at a low temperature - on average from minus 10-20 degrees. Otherwise, all your efforts are down the drain. Important! It is necessary to fill in a hill in three-four stages. To make the slide smooth, without holes and bumps, you need to use an ordinary broom when pouring. Yes, yes, a broom! With a broom we level the surface of the slide, and your children can easily slide down the hill with great pleasure!

When pouring a slide, you need to slam the surface with a broom

5) A hill of snow is poured with water several times. After the first, a thin and brittle crust forms, after the second - a rough frost, and the third time can be poured for the greatest strength and smoothness of the surface. When you fill the hill for the first time, slam the surface with a broom! If you follow all these rules, then you will get a great homemade slide!

  • Choose pure snow! If you neglect this rule, then when it gets significantly warmer outside, your children may get dirty!
  • Try to make the hill more even, without holes, depressions and bumps. If there are sharp bumps on the slide, children may tear their clothes.
  • A good and best height for children is two meters, and for older kids - three, four meters or more. For small children, it is better to make the necessary supports to avoid falls.
  • You need to ride the hill on the ice. Ice can be bought in a store for an average of 100 rubles or made by yourself. You can make an ice cube from linoleum or use a simple piece of cardboard.

Skiing from the mountain is a favorite pastime for children of all ages, and only adults can provide them with convenience and comfort in this matter, and they will have more than enough fun and enthusiasm. A slide can be built from a variety of improvised materials, and from which will be discussed in this article.

What is needed for the slide

In order to make a slide with your own hands, you can use metal, plastic, wood, as well as improvised materials left over from the old cabinet and desk. At least with a little imagination, you can build a real miracle from them and put them in the corner of the children's room to the delight of your baby.

You can make a slide for your child from an old desk.

For this you will need:

  • lacquered cabinet door;
  • plywood sheet;
  • small boards, which can be pieces of a shovel handle, legs from a table or chair.

Manufacturing steps:

Making a hill of snow

Making a mountain with your own hands out of snow is very simple. The main thing is to wait until the temperature on the street approaches the mark of about 0 ᵒС. And, of course, the presence of a sufficient amount of snow is important.

And you will also need:

  • shovel made of metal or plastic;
  • construction spatula, scraper;
  • bucket or watering can;
  • warm gloves.

Manufacturing steps:

  1. The primary task is to determine the location of such a homemade attraction. To minimize injury, it is imperative that you roll out onto level ground so that
    the child could roll evenly until it came to a complete stop.
  2. The height of the slide is determined based on the age of the riders. For crumbs up to 3 years old, an elevation of 1 meter high will be enough, and for older children, you can build a higher slope, the main thing is that the slope of the slope does not exceed 40 degrees.
  3. Having rolled up several large balls, form the foundation of the future building from them. If you plan to make a sufficiently high slide, then you should consider how the children will climb it. The problem can be solved by making the same snowballs that can be laid at the foot in the form of steps.
  4. Use a spatula and scrapers to level the surface of the steps and leave the structure until the onset of cold weather.
  5. Fill the hill should be in the cold. It is not recommended to use a bucket or a hose for this, as there is a high risk of large holes forming. It is better to use an ordinary garden watering can or the one that housewives use to water indoor plants.
  6. On a piece of plywood or a shovel with a wide working part slowly pour water onto the structure. And you can cover the elevation with a large piece of cloth and pour through it - this will help the liquid to be more evenly distributed over the snow.
  7. If, apart from the bucket, there was nothing at hand, then the water in it must be mixed with snow and cover the surface with this same slurry, leaving it to freeze overnight, and repeat the procedure in the morning.
  8. Everything, the hill is ready. If necessary, potholes on it can be trimmed with a spatula.

Reading time ≈ 6 minutes

What is winter without snow slides, ice sculptures and snowdrifts! On a frosty winter day, you just want to take an ice cube and run to ride on fresh air, but often ice slide may not be nearby at all. It is not surprising that many are interested in how to do it yourself without outside help build a hill of snow. This is a real joy not only for kids of all ages, but also for adults. Consider several ways how to properly erect and fill with water snow slide to freeze her.

Choosing a place in the yard

Let's first figure out what kind of slides exist at all, and what kind of snow structure you can build in your yard.

Types of slides:

The ideal place is a play area where the kids are used to spending time. Here are some tips for where the children's slide should be:

  • In a safe area away from the roadway, as well as from walking paths;
  • On the open area to ride freely and easily;
  • Far from various buildings, structures, pillars, trees and other plantings. Sliding should occur smoothly until it comes to a complete stop;
  • The slope should be gentle and not too steep (the optimal angle of the high part is 40-50 degrees);
  • The rollout must be directed to a flat area, without obstacles and ledges, so that children do not get injured;
  • The place should be well lit in the evening, as riding with flashlights is not only inconvenient, but also unsafe.

Choose a size and prepare inventory

It is important to remember that the higher you plan to build a snow slide, the more free space should be for a smooth descent. Consider the basic requirements for their manufacture:

  1. The top of the slide should be fenced with sides with a height of 40 centimeters. This is done to protect against accidental falls and stability if the sole slips;
  2. The stairs to the top should be non-slip and not steep (the dimensions of the steps in depth and height are 20 * 20 cm). It will be useful to sprinkle the steps with sand, but not too much, as it will fall on the slope and slow down the movement;
  3. The ratio of the height of the slide to the length of the entire descent should be in proportions of 1:6;
  4. The width of the slide depends on the intended purpose: for small children, for tubing, for riding alone or together in a crowd, etc.

Most the best time for the construction of the structure - a clear sunny day, since there is a slight thaw during the day, and at night the frost gets stronger. It is easier to work with a little wet and pliable snow, and at night the result will be fixed by itself.

What tools are needed:

  • Warm mittens and gloves to protect hands (it is advisable to wear rubber gloves on top);
  • Large metal shovels;
  • Broom;
  • Metal buckets, ladles and watering cans;
  • Sprayers, atomizers or rubber hoses;
  • Unnecessary rags and mops;
  • Flat hard devices (tabletops, long plywood, shields, etc.) for leveling snow on the descent;
  • Wide spatula or construction scraper;
  • Quick access to water.

Remember: only pure snow should be used to form the structure! It should also be free of foreign objects: stones, sticks, branches, leaves, etc.

The video below shows how you can build a snow slide with your own hands in a kindergarten or backyard of your house.

We begin to sculpt a hill of snow

Once you have decided on the location and dimensions of the structure, prepared all the equipment and called assistants, you can safely get to work:

If desired, you can use a ready-made frame, for example, wooden stairs, railings, boards, boards, countertops and even car tires which are subsequently covered with snow.

Let's start filling

Filling is the most crucial stage, it is important here not to spoil all the work done. The main thing is never to use slides for the bay warm water- it will only leave holes in the snow and melt it. The water should be ice cold - mixed with snow in a metal bucket.

Fill options:

  1. Spraying from a garden watering can or hose;
  2. Pouring water onto a wide shovel and then onto the mountain slope itself;
  3. Flooring on the slope surface with a wet rag;
  4. Pouring up the hill ice water from a bucket of snow, tamping and grinding with spatulas.

All hills, irregularities and defects are knocked down and leveled until the structure takes the required shape. During the night, the form should “grab”, and the very next day you can try out the slide and ride with your friends!

The main thing, when building a slide, is the presence of snow in sufficient quantities.

From speeches at the XXII Congress of the USSR snow builders.

Spring is coming. So it's time to write a post about the construction of an ice slide.

Required tool:

  • The shovel is big snow, flat.
  • Small shovel or scoop.
  • 2 buckets.
  • Rectangular bowl or ladle.
  • Broom.

Formation of the slide body

We choose the place of installation of the slide. We examine it. We outline the direction of the slope. There should be no objects in the direction of the slope that can interfere with movement. Such as trees, stumps, benches, fences, walls of buildings, car parks, opening hatches. A ramp crossing a walkway is not a good idea, although pedestrians who slip or get hit by moving children look funny enough. Rolling into the side of the roadway is also a bad idea.

With uniform movements, we throw snow on the selected place:

The speed of construction of snow structures is directly proportional to the number of builders armed with shovels and inversely proportional to the number of children present at the construction site.

Shovel S.P., Vodichka P.N. Snowman's Handbook. 1975 ed. 3rd, revised. and additional Page 156.

We form a hump-shaped hill with an intermediate compaction by trampling our feet and patting with a shovel:

The formation of a hill usually takes several days, and if there is little snow, then weeks. Accordingly, the evenness of the contours of the building is not yet necessary, because during the inter-construction period it will be decently broken by idle children. The main thing at this stage is the amount of snow and its compaction:

Little trick. A slide built on a hill saves snow and energy.

Magazine "Ice and Water". No. 8. August 1905

For the final formation of the body of the slide, it is important to choose the right weather. The best time for this is a thaw followed by a freeze. Accordingly, we begin to monitor the Hydrometeorological Center, Gismeteo, Yandex.Weather, etc. in advance. If the temperature during the day is + 5 ° C, and frosts are expected at night, then this is the right time!

The plasticity of thaw snow makes it possible to form almost vertical sides of the body of the slide, and subsequent sub-zero temperatures give sufficient strength:

The shape of the slide can be different. Low and flat - for small children, high and steep - for schoolchildren. The upper platform should be of sufficient size so that you can stand up there, put an ice cube (sled, plywood, briefcase, nothing) and pile up on it. The depth of the steps should be slightly more than the length of an adult's boot, because who else will support, correct, substitute, push. The side walls should be as vertical as possible, again so that an adult can come as close as possible and hold, correct, substitute, push. The slope and the upper platform can be fenced with sides, which is good for small-aged users, but bad for the rest, because it deprives the fan of rolling off the sides of the structure.

A typical standard slide looks like this:

Back view:

Wide steps allow you to spend less time on their inevitable repair during operation, because the partial collapse of wide steps does not immediately affect their holding capacity.

Watering

Proper watering- a pledge of reliability of snow structures!

Pakhomych. Brigadier of the ice and snow brigade No. 5.

It is necessary to water the hill late in the evening, in frost. Desirable temperature -8°C and below. For example, here are the most favorable days of the night for watering: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday:

Late in the evening, because at this time there is less chance of sticking to a freshly watered hill of priests of an idle child prowling past. True, tipsy adults remain, but there are much fewer of them. In addition, the air temperature is usually lower closer to midnight.

The first watering is the most important and the most labor-intensive. It is desirable to perform it immediately after the stage of the final formation of the slide. Those. it is necessary to choose a day when the temperature is positive in the afternoon, and drops below zero by night. Well, or the evening of the next day. In the screenshot above, a good day for the first watering is Friday. hard frost for the first watering is not necessary, just a negative temperature is enough.

So, we take 2 buckets. Pour cold water into them.

For watering, use a rectangular bowl. The flat side of the container allows you to pour water in a wide strip.

We pour the slide from all sides evenly over the entire surface and in a thin layer. We fill only the hill itself. We do not touch the horizontal ground section of the slope. We'll deal with them later.

The first watering consumes the maximum amount of water. It took twenty 7-liter buckets of water to climb such a hill, i.e. 10 sets of 2 buckets:

The next few nights, if the temperature is right, we continue to water. We water the sides of the slide and steps. We pay special attention to the upper corners. They break first of all and they need to provide sufficient strength. We water the slope last.

The subsequent watering will take less water, because it ceases to be absorbed into the snow. By pouring ten 7-liter buckets of water a day, we bring the surface to a brilliant state:

We do not pay attention to the bumps. They will be smoothed out with ice cubes and subsequent watering:

But deep holes need to be repaired (see section):

After reaching sufficient strength, we stop watering the steps. The snow stuck on the steps will not allow the feet to slide when climbing. Smooth and slippery should only be a ramp and top platform. From them, before watering, be sure to clean off the accumulated snow. You can use a shovel, but better with a broom or brush.

Ideal result:

During the day, children also roll out the horizontal part of the slope:

You can start filling it. Pour a thin layer of a piece of slope in front of the slide. Children roll the next part of the slope. We pour it. Etc:

At the end of the horizontal part of the slope, you can organize a low ice roller, such as a springboard. On it, the children will, squealing, bounce funny.

Various decorations can be frozen into the surface of the slope of the slide, for example, photographs of fish. It's funny.

Result

If the slide is built correctly, then children will definitely start on it:
