Voice production (exercises for voice production). The Best Exercises for Developing Voice Power

  • 11.10.2019

Remarkable finds. I found the exercises described in words: both for diction, and for the muscles of the tongue, and for the development of proper speech breathing !!!
There are many letters, and each is useful.

Although the materials in this article are devoted to the importance of voice and diction when reading affirmations, both of these parameters have independent significance, so mastering the techniques described in this article will be useful to you, regardless of your intention to practice affirmations. As you know, people's impressions of communicating with each other are 55 percent based on body language, 38 percent on the timbre of voice and diction, and only 7 percent on the words they pronounce, so the problem of a good voice for a person is extremely relevant, since it determines almost 40 percent of his life success.

Exercises for the development of correct speech breathing.

1. Select comfortable posture(lying, sitting, standing), put one hand on the stomach, the other on the side of the lower chest. Take a deep breath in through your nose (this pushes your belly forward and expands your lower chest, which is controlled by both hands). After inhalation, immediately make a free, smooth exhalation (the abdomen and lower chest take their previous position).

2. Take a short, calm breath through the nose, hold the air in the lungs for 2-3 seconds, then make a long, smooth exhalation through the mouth.

3. Take a short breath with your mouth open and, with a smooth, long exhalation, say one of the vowels (a, o, u, i, e, s).

4. Say several sounds smoothly on one exhale:

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

5. Count on one exhalation to 3-5 (one, two, three...), trying to gradually increase the count to 10-15. Watch for smooth exhalation. Count down (ten, nine, eight...).

6. Read proverbs, sayings, tongue twisters in one breath. Be sure to follow the setup given in the first exercise.

A drop and a stone hollow.

Right hand build - break with the left.

Whoever lied yesterday will not be believed tomorrow.

On the bench outside the house, Toma sobbed all day.

Do not spit in the well - you will need water to drink.

There is grass in the yard, firewood on the grass: one firewood, two firewood - do not cut firewood on the grass of the yard.

Thirty-three Egorkas lived on a hillock near a hill: one Egorka, two Egorkas, three Egorkas...

I wonder how many Egoroks you get on one exhale?

7. Read Russian folk tale"Turnip" with the correct reproduction of inspiration during pauses.

Turnip.

Grandfather planted a turnip. A large turnip has grown.
Grandfather went to pick a turnip. Pulls, pulls, can't pull.
Grandpa called grandma. Grandmother pulls grandfather, grandfather pulls a turnip, they pull, they pull, they can’t pull it out!
The grandmother called her granddaughter. Granddaughter for grandmother, grandmother for grandfather, grandfather for turnip, they pull, pull, they can’t pull it out!
Granddaughter called Zhuchka. A bug for a granddaughter, a granddaughter for a grandmother, a grandmother for a grandfather, a grandfather for a turnip, they pull, pull, they can’t pull it out!
Bug called the cat. A cat for a bug, a bug for a granddaughter, a granddaughter for a grandmother, a grandmother for a grandfather, a grandfather for a turnip, they pull, pull, they can’t pull it out!
The cat called the mouse. A mouse for a cat, a cat for a bug, a bug for a granddaughter, a granddaughter for a grandmother, a grandmother for a grandfather, a grandfather for a turnip, they pull, they pull - they pulled a turnip!

All subsequent exercises given in this article are designed to be performed taking into account the described technique of speech breathing.

Psychological exercises for voice development.

You can develop your voice with these exercises in the same way that you develop muscles with physical education. As a result, the timbre of your voice will change, your voice will develop and become lower and more harmonious, its range will expand, the pronunciation will become clearer, the modulations will be more expressive, and the expressiveness will be more convincing. An additional effect of the exercises will be expressed in the activation of your strength. It is best to do these exercises regularly, and in the morning, because it will energize you for the whole day. Not only will you develop a more pleasant voice, but your overall well-being will improve a lot. As your voice develops, so will your personality.

1. Stand in front of a mirror. Exhale, then inhale, and repeat each sound until you have enough breath. So take a breath and get started:
iiiiiiiiiiii
eeeeeeeeeeee
aaaaaaaaa
oooooooooo
uuuuuuuuuu

This sequence is not random, you start with the highest frequency sound - "and". If you put your palm on your head, you will feel a slight vibration of the skin. This is evidence of more intensive blood circulation. Pronouncing the sound "e" activates the neck and throat area, you can feel it by placing your hands on your neck. Pronouncing the sound "a" has a beneficial effect on the chest area. When pronouncing the sound "o", the blood supply to the heart increases, and the exercise with the sound "y" has a positive effect on the lower abdomen. Speak slowly one after the other all the sounds three times. If you want the timbre of the voice to be lower, and the voice to be deeper and more expressive, then during the day say the sound "u" many times.

2. Now you need to activate the chest and abdomen, and for this you need to pronounce the sound "m" with your mouth closed. Do exercises for the sound "m" three times. Once very quietly, the second time - louder and the third time - as loud as possible, so that the vocal cords tighten. Putting your palm on your stomach, you will feel a strong vibration.

Particular attention should be paid to the "r" sound, as it improves pronunciation and gives strength and energy to the voice. In order to relax the tongue, carry out preliminary preparation: lift the tip of the tongue to the sky behind the front upper teeth and "growl" like a tractor. So, exhale, then inhale and begin to "growl": "rrrr." After that, expressively and emotionally with an emphasized rolling "r" say the following words:
role steering wheel ring ruble rhythm rice carpet cook fence cheese goods grass wing lilac frost etc.

3. "Tarzan's exercise" in addition to the method of voice development is a prophylactic against colds and myocardial infarction. Stand up straight, exhale, then inhale deeply. Clench your hands into fists. Loudly pronounce the sounds "eeeeeeee" and at the same time beat yourself on the chest with your fists, as Tarzan did in the famous movie.
Now do the same exercise with sounds:
eeeeeeeeeeee
aaaaaaaaa
oooooooooo
uuuuuuuuuu

At the end of the exercise, you will notice how your bronchi are cleared of mucus, how your breathing becomes free, how you are charged with energy. Clear your throat, get rid of everything you don't need! This exercise should be performed only in the morning, as it has an exciting and activating effect.

4. Indian yogis are known for their deep beautiful voice, which is achieved with the help of such a simple exercise.

Stand up straight and put your feet shoulder-width apart, take a few calm breaths in and out, then draw air into your stomach and take one sharp breath, accompanied by the sound "Ha-a". The exhalation should be complete, and the sound as loud as possible (echoes in neighboring houses). In this case, you can slightly bend the body forward.

After several weeks of training according to the proposed method, compare your current voice with the previous one that you recorded on the recorder, and you will see that the timbre of your voice has changed, and your voice as a whole has improved significantly, because now it has gained greater suggestive power, which means that the outgoing from you, the charismatic radiation became more intense, you began to speak more convincingly and more strongly influence the world around you.

As a result of such training and the implementation of the described exercises, not only your voice, but also your thoughts become calmer and deeper. The deeper and lower the voice, the deeper it settles in the mind, the more impressive the spoken words are, and thanks to this, you begin to speak not just differently, but much better. Due to this, everything that worries and worries you recedes, and then completely disappears. Therefore, never stop working on your voice and then you will never stop working on your personality.

Work on diction.

Diction is understood as a clear, distinct and distinct pronunciation of all sounds. mother tongue with their correct articulation with a clear and intelligible pronunciation of words and phrases. A clear and precise pronunciation of words is ensured by the correct articulation of each sound, and, above all, the ability to open the mouth freely and wide enough in the process of speech, because with a poorly opened mouth, sounds are pronounced as if through teeth.

Articulation is also controlled at a subconscious level, like voice formation, so it is advisable first of all to understand the reasons why you have poor diction and reprogram them with the techniques you already know. The situation for reprogramming can be formulated something like this: "I have poor diction", "I speak indistinctly", "I burr", "I incorrectly pronounce (can not pronounce) the sound "L" (sounds "P", "Z", "S", "F" or others according to your feelings.)". The reasons for poor diction are most often self-deprecating thoughts like "My business is to keep quiet" or "There are no Cicerons in my family", which are reprogrammed quite simply.

After reprogramming the subconscious, diction, as a rule, improves significantly, and for further development mobility of the muscles of the lower jaw, the ability to open the mouth wide enough in the process of speech, special exercises are used.

Exercises for the development of mobility of the lower jaw.

1. Freely lower the lower jaw until there is a gap of two fingers between the teeth.

2. Silently, lingering (on one exhale), say the vowel sounds:
aaaaaaaaaaaa
yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy (two fingers apart);
oooooooooooooo
ёёёёёёёёёёё (the distance between the teeth in one finger);
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii (mouth slightly open).

4. Pronounce several vowels in one exhalation in a continuous and drawn-out manner:
aaaaaeeeeee
aaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaa
iiiiiaaaaa
ooooh
aaaaaaaaa
iiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Make sure that when pronouncing sounds, the opening of the mouth is sufficiently full.

5. Say proverbs, sayings, tongue twisters that are saturated with vowel sounds that require a wide opening of the mouth. For example:
Mal, yes removed.
Two of a Kind.
Found a scythe on a stone.
Know the edge, don't fall.
What is the fisherman, such is the fish.
A rolling stone gathers no moss.
The snake is stingy, the hedgehog has a hedgehog.

6. Read the poem, clearly pronouncing the sounds a, i:

Already the sky was breathing in autumn,
The sun shone less
The day was getting shorter
Forests mysterious canopy
With a sad noise she was naked,
Fog fell on the fields
Noisy geese caravan
Stretched to the south: approaching
Pretty boring time;
November was already at the yard ...

A. Pushkin

In the process of doing the exercises, make sure that the lower jaw falls freely down, first pronounce vowel sounds a little underlined.

Exercises for the development of lip mobility.

With lethargy and insufficient mobility of the lips, the clarity and clarity of pronunciation of many vowels and consonants suffers. So, to pronounce the sounds u, u, you need to stretch your lips forward with a tube, for sounds o, e, round your lips, and for sounds s, z, stretch your lips in a smile. For the development of the lips, it is useful to use the following exercises:

1. Stretch your lips into a smile without exposing your teeth.

2. Stretch your lips into a bare-toothed smile with your mouth closed.

3. Pull tightly closed lips forward (as with a whistle).

4. Pull your lips forward in a tube shape.

5. Alternate between stretching your lips into a tube with stretching them in a smile.

6. Lift your upper lip to expose your upper teeth, then lower your lower lip to expose your lower teeth.

7. Draw out the vowel sounds (at first without a voice, but with emphasized articulation, then with a voice):

iiiiii (lips stretched in a smile);

oooooo (oval lips);

uuuuuu (lips with a tube).

8. Say consonant sounds (first silently, then with a voice):

ssssss, zzzzzz (lips stretched in a smile);

shshshshshsh, zhzhzhzhzhzhzh (lips are extended forward with an oval).

9. Pronounce several sounds in one exhalation together and lingeringly:

iiiiuuuu (lips are first stretched, then take the form of a tube);

uuuuuiii (lips from the shape of a tube turn into the shape of a smile);

ooooooiiiiii (rounded, tubule, smile);

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

sssssshshshshsh (when pronouncing a sound from the lips are stretched, when pronouncing w are stretched forward);

zzzzzzzhzhzhzhzh (when pronouncing z, stretch your lips, when pronouncing w, pull forward).

10. With tightly closed lips, form an explosion when pronouncing sounds p, b (dad, woman, bagel, cereal, drum, stick).

11. Fix the clarity and clarity of the pronunciation of sounds in the words willow, game, iron, lesson, scrap, perch, donkey, spinning top, lawyer, south, hedgehog, tree, Irina, institute, incubator, emerald, shelter, snail, rod, feeling, optometrist, equipment, juice, lock, wheel, hat, school, beetle, belly, drying, sun, iron, folder, drum, broom, bicycle, apron, sweatshirt, jacket.

When pronouncing words, watch the position of the lips in front of the mirror.

12. Read proverbs, sayings, tongue twisters. Follow right position lips, for clarity and clarity of pronunciation of words and phrases.

Stand up for each other and win the fight.

You will learn from the smart, you will unlearn from the stupid.

Cabbage loves water and good weather.

A wasp does not have a mustache, do not have a mustache, but a mustache.

Wolves roam, looking for food.

The tree has needles.

13. Read the story aloud and make sure that the lips take an active part in the pronunciation of sounds and words.

Bells.

I really love these simple flowers - cheerful bluebells. You will go out of the forest to an unmowed meadow overgrown with tall grass and you will gasp with joy - there are so many different flowers flaunting, similar to a festive round dance. Throughout the green meadow, daisies turn white, dandelions turn yellow, mouse peas bloom. And above all, all the more fun - purple bells. From the light breath of the warm summer wind, they sway, bow, bells ring inaudibly, joyfully welcoming the guest. All summer they bloom, the bells ring inaudibly, the familiar and lovely flowers of our meadows and forests.

Exercises for the development of the muscles of the tongue.

Language takes an active part in the formation of most speech sounds. The intelligibility of speech largely depends on his work. Particular difficulties arise when pronouncing words with a confluence of consonants, when it is necessary to quickly switch the movement of the tongue from one position to another. To strengthen the muscles of the tongue, improve its mobility and switchability, before using exercises in pronouncing sounds, words and phrases with a consonant confluence, clearly work out the following movements.

1. Stick your tongue out and move it to the left, right, up, down.

2. Stick out your tongue and make circular movements from left to right, then vice versa - from right to left.

3. With an open mouth and a slightly protruding tongue, make it wide, narrow, cup (the tip and side edges are slightly raised).

4. With a slightly raised tense tip of the tongue, “brush” the upper teeth from the outer and inside, in the direction from the inside of the teeth to the outside and vice versa.

Control the correctness of the movements carried out with the help of a mirror. Make sure that all movements of the tongue are performed easily and freely, without much tension.

Exercises in the clarity of pronouncing consonant sounds in syllables.

Read the syllables:

1. pa, po, pu, py, pe, pya, pyo, pyu, pi, pe, ta, then, tu, you, te, cha, cho, tu, ti, those, sa, so, su, sy, se, sya, sho, syu, si, se, zha, zho, zhu, zhi, same;

2. an, op, yp, yp, ep, at, from, ut, yt, et, as, os, mustache, ys, es, ash, osh, ush, ish, esh

Exercises in the clarity of pronunciation of words with a confluence of consonants.

Read aloud words with a confluence of two, three and four consonants: entrance, invest, baggage, tourist, map, flowerbed, service, tail, brush away, think, collect, roach, stamp, pimple, snobby, platoon, swim, weave, set , move, spark, feed, canvas, look, grotesque, milk mushroom, cover, instant, smooth, tetanus, smooth, tetanus, trunk, hawk, fires, sprats, emerge, open, health resort, fight, meet, overseer, uniform, ostrostka , metro builder, colander, wandering, transcription.

Exercises in the clarity and clarity of pronouncing sounds and words in phrasal speech.

To practice the clarity and clarity of pronunciation of consonant sounds and words, it is useful to use tongue twisters that are built on a combination of consonant sounds that are difficult to pronounce. Reading tongue twisters should begin in slow motion, while clearly pronouncing each word and each sound. Gradually speed up the pace, but make sure that the clarity and clarity of pronunciation does not decrease.

Prokhor and Pahom rode on horseback.

The jackdaw sat on a stick, the stick hit the jackdaw.

From the clatter of hooves, dust flies across the field.

The bull's lip was blunt.

The water carrier was carrying water from the tap.

Fenya has a jersey, Fai has shoes.

On seven sledges, seven in each sleigh sat themselves.

The chick of the chick clung tenaciously to the chain.

Prokop came - the dill was boiling. Prokop left - dill boiled. Just as dill boiled under Prokop, so dill boiled without Prokop.

Mother Romasha gave whey from yogurt.

The bee buzzed, the spider buzzed.

Scales at the pike, bristles at the pig.

The cap is not sewn in the style of a cap, the cap would be recapped, but recapped.

There is grass in the yard, firewood on the grass: one firewood, two firewood - do not cut firewood on the grass of the yard.

The ships tacked, tacked, but did not catch.

You can’t re-speak all tongue twisters, you can’t re-speak all tongue twisters.

Say small tongue twisters on one exhale. Observe the smoothness and continuity of their pronunciation.

Further consolidation of good diction is carried out by reading aloud poetic and prose texts. At the same time, at first, it is necessary to continue to monitor the work of the lips, tongue, lower jaw, for the distinct pronunciation of vowel sounds (stressed and unstressed), for the clear pronunciation of consonants, but not to allow their pronunciation to be reinforced or emphasized.

Each exercise is practiced until it is performed easily and freely, without much effort.

When working on diction, it is necessary to take into account correct use speech breathing and voice. So, when pronouncing tongue twisters, it is necessary to correctly convey their content, it is appropriate to pause, and to get air in a timely manner.

Classes to develop good diction are held daily for 10-15 minutes. The transition to the next exercise is carried out only after the previous one has been sufficiently clearly worked out.

We often don't like how our voice sounds on recordings, or during public speaking when we're nervous. French vocal professor Philippe-Nicolas Melo has been helping singers and ordinary people learn to control your voice. He shared with us simple exercises that you can do at home every day. According to Melo, after a week of practice, you will notice the first results.

Make a “shell” out of your left palm and attach it to your left ear - this will be an earpiece. Bring the right one to your mouth - it will become a microphone. Do a test like a sound engineer: count loudly, pronounce different words playing with sound. Do this exercise daily for 5-10 minutes for 9 days. By understanding how others hear your voice, you can improve the sound of your voice.

... "gets stuck" in the throat

Do exercises for the face. The goal is to free the throat, transferring the main work to the lips and diaphragm. Say the syllables "q-x": on the "q" the lips are rounded, and the "x" is pronounced with a wide smile. Repeat the exercise 30 times and then give a short speech to see if it works. During performances, the vocal cords will be less tired, and the muscles of the mouth will be easier to follow the commands sent by the brain.

... does not sound

Read some text aloud for 5-10 minutes a day, but without consonants. So, the phrase "Five exercises to love your voice" will sound like "I-u-a-e-i-o-s-o-yu-i-o-o-o." The consonants act like a springboard, causing the vowels to vibrate. Reread the same passage of text, this time minting the consonants. The voice will acquire the intensity of vibration and sound, while you will not get tired, and you will be better understood.

…too quiet

Place your hands on the solar plexus. Think of something that made you very angry. Say any text, pressing your hands to your stomach and trying to make the sounds come from the navel area. Release your anger by clearly pronouncing the consonants and opening your mouth wide. Try to express your emotions in this way more often - sadness, anger, joy. The voice will become richer, less formal, more sincere.

…impersonal

Standing barefoot, breathe calmly, expanding your belly with each breath. Slowly shift your foot from heel to toe and back. Continue with your eyes closed. If your energy is too concentrated in the head area, you will lose your balance. Stop controlling yourself and focus on your feet. This exercise will help you distribute energy better. You will better “settle down” in your body, and the timbre of your voice will become richer.

Why don't HRs invite applicants for an interview after the first phone call? Sometimes people are rejected because they speak slowly, indistinctly, uncertainly. Or, for example, public speaking. Even the most interesting lecture is not attractive if it is led by a gasping speaker. Listeners are distracted, paying attention to his imperfect “r”, constant hooting, breathing problems - the information fades into the background.

For you to sound full power and were at their best in any situation where you need to speak and win over with your voice, we turned for recommendations to Svetlana Vasilenko, an expert consultant on speech technique and rhetoric, author and host of radio talk projects "Kyiv 98 FM".

Svetlana has been working with her voice for 20 years and is sure that speaking beautifully and clearly is not a gift, but just an ability, as well as a skill to present information correctly. So she got her own method of teaching speech technique, based on personal experience and those techniques that she tested in the process of compiling the author's program.

Why We Sound Wrong: Three Key Reasons

Incorrect position of the speech apparatus. Almost 90% of people need to work with speech. Adults often do not pay attention to the pronunciation of some of their sounds. The imperfect sound is due to physical nuances - the tongue is not positioned as it should be, the lips are not relaxed at the right moment, etc.

Laziness. One of the most common causes of incorrect sound is simple laziness. We are too lazy to open our mouths, so we do not use the jaw - it is motionless during speaking, only the lips move. Figuratively speaking, sounds come out with the help of air, and their quality depends on how wide we open our mouth.

How sound is born

Sound is produced when air passes between the vocal cords. When we make voiced sounds and vowels, the glottis formed by the ligaments closes, with deaf sounds it diverges. Frequent speaking, i.e. the constant tension of the vocal cords leads to the fact that initially thin cords thicken, become less flexible, and the voice “overgrown” with hoarseness, loses pitch and flight.

Have you noticed how teachers lose their voice after 45 minutes of lectures and switch to a hoarse whisper? Usually teachers speak at three times the normal level, which means they use their chords to the limit. A large load on these muscles leads to the fact that knots or, as the singers say, calluses appear on them, from which the voice can disappear. These nodes can only be removed surgically, but it is not certain that you will sound as good as before the operation.

Therefore, professional lecturers, trainers, consultants, teachers, in order to preserve their voice and ligaments longer, learn to speak using a chest resonator, “turning off” ligaments from the process as much as possible. Roughly speaking, they say “chest”, not throat.

Ten Exercises to Improve Speaking Technique

1. Love yourself

Often those who have problems with articulation are sure that they love themselves. But in fact, in a person who loves himself, the sound is born deep inside, and the person wants to be heard. So he speaks louder and clearer. In order for a feeling of self-love to be born, praise yourself in the morning in front of a mirror for 5 minutes, constantly thank you for being such a good fellow, take time for yourself during the day.

2. Open your mouth

When pronouncing the words, physically open your mouth wider, work with your jaw. If a person is worried, nervous, afraid of being uncomfortable, then he does not open his mouth while speaking, moving only his lips. Therefore, his speech is quiet, little intelligible, as if under his breath. It is unlikely that an employer, colleague, listener, etc. will appreciate this.

3. Yawn and stretch

In the morning, instead of jumping up and shouting "I'm late! / Overslept!" stretch and yawn well. Most of the problems in speech technique are also in the fact that all the muscles are clamped: they become numb in the morning after sleep, and after that in the office we sit, hunched over and not warming up.

Stretching, you release all the muscles of the neck, which allow you to better "give" sounds. Yawning wakes up the jaw joints, relaxes the lips and windpipe with its small movable tongue. It is he who influences the way we speak - "releasing" sounds through the mouth or through the nose. Many speak in a nasal way precisely because they direct air and sound through the nose, without training this part of the articulatory apparatus with yawning-relaxation.

4. Keep your back straight

The diaphragm, a muscular septum that separates the chest cavity from the abdominal cavity, plays a huge role in the appearance of sound (conditionally, its border can be drawn along the lower edge of the ribs). Stooping, straining, we clamp the diaphragm, preventing its natural movement.

A good speaker has a “pumped” diaphragm, i.e. very mobile, so it can quickly change its position. With a straight back, our abdominal muscles are not clamped, which means that we can get as much air for speaking as necessary.

Check if you are sitting correctly - bring your shoulder blades together, lower them to the level when your back becomes even. At first, there will be a little discomfort from being unaccustomed, the main thing is that you can calmly stand or sit in this position. By the way, straightening up, you look more confident in yourself.

5. Keep your chin perpendicular to your neck

One girl determined her voice in ordinary life like “the creak of an unoiled door”, but at meetings with friends after a glass of wine, everyone admired her amazing chest voice. And to the question "What's wrong with my voice?" there was a very simple answer - she lifted her chin high, pulling the muscles of her neck, at the throat, and the sound could not come out normally. And in a relaxed state, her chin fell into place, air appeared - and the voice sounded as it should. If the chin is lowered below 90 degrees, then the back muscles of the neck are tightened and the sound does not receive enough air to appear.

6. « Wake up"resonators

As you go about your morning chores, mumble—sing out your favorite song, a random tune with your mouth closed, try to read a couple of paragraphs from a book with your mouth closed, or, most simply, say the sound “mmmm.”

7. Always drink in small sips

Gastroenterologists advise drinking warm water with lemon to wake up the body. The same water helps to wake up the speech organs. In the morning, drinking a glass of water in small sips, you train a small tongue. Rising, he "works" to the fullest, and your nasality disappears by itself.

8. Do vibration massage

As we have already said, sounds are not created by the vocal cords alone. Our voice becomes special, getting a beautiful vibration, thanks to internal resonators. Basic vibration massage techniques are done on the frontal sinuses (these are voids in the center of the forehead, at the point of convergence of the eyebrows), maxillary sinuses, upper and lower lip, and also the upper chest. The exercises below will reveal to you the intricacies of this massage at the indicated points.

Front sinuses. Massaging a point on the frontal sinuses, pronounce the sound "m" and send it up. Imagine that the sound goes somewhere up, above the crown, becoming thinner. In the place where the sky ends and the tongue begins, a vibration appears. Physically, nothing vibrates, but the very sensation of vibration will. Massage helps to wake up the resonators - and the body as a whole gets used to the correct sounding of all sounds.

Maxillary sinuses. When massaging the maxillary sinuses, "lower" the sound "m" completely into the nose. Close one nostril and pronounce the sound "m", while lowering the tone, releasing through the open nostril. If you do the exercise correctly, the wing of the open nostril vibrates a little. Control the execution - it is important that the vibration remains in the nose, and does not go to the teeth or tongue. This will not work out right away, but those who are used to talking through their noses can easily cope with this task.

Releasing sounds alternately through different nostrils, you can massage the points at the wings of the nose. You are probably familiar with the effect of such a massage. Often, when we need to speak with a stuffy nose, we intuitively three points near the maxillary sinuses, reducing swelling, clearing the airways, and therefore sound more intelligible, especially when pronouncing sonorous sounds, including "m" and "n".

Upper lip. Vibration massage is aimed at teaching the upper lip to resonate - it must relax in order to correct pronunciation all sounds. To do this, pronounce the sound "v", trying to feel how the middle of the upper lip works. The correct sound “v” is born exactly at this point: the air, leaving the mouth, at an angle of 45 degrees, enters the middle of the lip and vibrates a little. Doing this exercise, you will feel how this place itches. Add a point massage above the upper lip.

Underlip. For the lower lip, apply the same principle as for the upper lip, only using the sound "z". The sound "z" is born in the same way as "v", only the air is directed to the middle of the lower lip. Massage is done at a point below the middle of the lower lip. Due to the tightness of the middle of the lower lip, there may be problems with the pronunciation of “sh”, “u”, “g”. If it seems to you that the lips do not participate in the appearance of "v" and "h", start massaging these points and physically feel the vibration.

chest resonator. For vibromassage of the chest resonator, pronounce the sound “g” and, on exhalation, send it as far down the chest as possible. This is how you lower your voice as much as possible. In this case, the vocal cords do not take part in the appearance of sound, because they are completely relaxed, although physically you can feel their slight vibrations.

Check the correct execution like this - put your hand on the chest, below the neck. And it is in this place that you feel the vibration, but not on the neck, where the ligaments are. The voice becomes lower.

9. Always Train Your Chest Resonator

Put your hand on your chest and as you exhale, say "choo-choo-choo" as if you were a small engine. Ideally, you should hear how the sound beats from the inside of the chest into the palm for each "choo". It is difficult to speak "breast" at once, but over time it will become the norm.

10. Open your windpipe (trachea)

Open your mouth and breathe out the sound "a". At the same time, try to relax your throat as much as possible. In addition, by doing this you knead your jaws and lips - an additional beneficial effect.

A stressed person shrinks all over and the sounds hardly make their way out through his throat. Try tightening your throat, you will immediately understand what it is about. So every time you need to relax your throat before a public speaking, presentation, interview, take a couple of minutes for this exercise.

Articulation gymnastics

To speak clearly and quickly, confidently argue - you need to quickly and clearly work with the muscles of the lips, jaw and tongue. The exercises below will come in handy to develop the muscles of the speech apparatus. In addition, this simple gymnastics will solve the problem of most sounds once and for all.

Each muscle group is worked out separately, but always in a complex. Even if it seems to you that you cannot do some exercise, just do it - you need to train muscles that you have not previously used. Do each exercise 3-5 times. Also, while working on one specific muscle group, relax the rest of the muscles as much as possible.

Lips

"Duck". Pull your lips together as if you were saying the letter "y", and then stretch your lips, exposing the upper and lower teeth as much as possible. You can enhance the effect by making circular movements with the duck lips in different directions.

"Mask". Open your mouth wide and pull your lips inside your mouth as much as possible. This is a good massage for the lips and for the jaw. End with a big smile. The "mask" is good if there is no time for a full articulation gymnastics.

"Jar of Jam" Remember how you lick the jam with your tongue from your lips. Stretch your tongue, and tensing your muscles, slowly draw it across your lips. Here, the muscles of the tongue and lips are simultaneously included. You can enhance the effect by running your tongue behind your lips.

"Rabbit". Without the help of hands, lift up the upper lip, i.e. pull it towards your nose. Try not to wrinkle your forehead and relax your face.

Language

"Horse". Click your tongue like you did when you were a kid. This is especially good for those who have problems with the "r" and "l" sounds. At correct execution you should have a vibration between the palate and the middle part of the tongue. This exercise teaches the middle part of the tongue to work.

"Artist". The exercise is especially suitable for correcting the sounds "r" and "l" in owners of a short sublingual frenulum. Imagine that your tongue is a brush with which you draw a straight line from the teeth across the entire upper palate to the movable tongue, pressing the tongue tightly against the “canvas”.

"Sword". To work out the cheeks and lips from the inside. Tighten your tongue like a mini skewer and lick your lips from the inside - slowly running your tongue over the upper and lower jaw. Tension "turns on" the tip and base of the tongue.

"Boat". Helps correct the pronunciation of the "h" sound. The lateral muscles of the tongue rise and the tongue protrudes from the mouth. At the same time, you don’t need to pronounce the sound - this is how you make the “lazy” muscles of the tongue jump, which were not previously involved in speaking. It has been noticed that 90% of people who cannot say “h” do not know how to make a boat.

Jaws

"Nutcracker". Open your mouth as wide as possible. Do it very slowly. Then slowly close your mouth.

"Shifts". Push your jaw forward without straining your lips. Then separately to the right and separately to the left. Aerobatics - make a retractable circular movement of the jaw clockwise and counterclockwise. To begin with, try to make a movement in a square, gradually turning it into a small oval.

To minimize all injuries, as your jaw is not used to stress, do all exercises with your mouth open or ajar.

When there is no time

If you need to work on articulation in the absence of time, in the morning before an important meeting, then do the following exercises.

1. Write all the consonants of the alphabet in a row and choose any word starting with the letter "b" (or a word that is difficult for you to pronounce). For example, "barrel". Then say this word, changing the first letter: "barrel, varrel, garrel ...".

And if you want to additionally say goodbye to nasality, then close your nostrils with your fingers, inhale through your mouth, and, opening your mouth as much as possible, pronounce the same thing. So all the air will come out exclusively through the mouth.

Go back and forth alphabetically. You will immediately sound different and better - you will wake up the speech apparatus, almost all sounds will sound correctly.

2. Substitute in turn all the consonants for the vowels "i", "e", "a," "o", "y", "s". Run through the alphabet and you will sound much more persuasive in a morning meeting.

Breathing technique

The ability to breathe correctly is the most important thing in the technique of speech and oratory. The setting of breathing is done in parallel with the setting of sounds and the pumping of the muscles of the lips, tongue and jaw.

How to breathe correctly

You need to inhale only through the nose, exhale - only through the mouth. It is ideal if sounds are born along with exhalation.

As you inhale, completely relax your abdominal muscles and diaphragm. Remember how babies breathe with their belly sticking out? Do the same without tension - and a relaxed stomach will become a container for air, which is so necessary in the process of speaking. In such a stomach, the muscles of the diaphragm easily bend and let in air.

Exhaling, draw in the stomach, thus arching the diaphragm to the other side and thereby releasing air. Otherwise, you take in air, tense up, quickly pronounce what you need, and only then exhale - which is completely wrong.

Always remember: inhale - on a relaxed stomach, exhale with a tightening of the stomach.

Working out inhalation and exhalation

There are a huge number of breathing techniques, and all of them are based on the study of the diaphragm. And their common key moment- having done any exercise for inhalation, you must do the exercise for exhalation.

When starting out with breathing techniques, always take water with you to prevent hyperventilation. If you feel not quite comfortable, dizzy - just drink water and breathe calmly.

Inhale. Imagine that you have three bags of coffee in front of you. You were allowed to smell them all and choose one. You need to understand what kind of coffee you like the most and fully get enough of its aroma. Make one forced exhalation, and then inhale sharply three times so that it pulls in the chest. The stomach is relaxed, remember! Then tighten your stomach, exhale calmly.

Exhalation. First, get ready to perform - to get rid of excess air on the previous breath, i.e. hyperventilation, you need to do a forced exhalation. With sharp movements, as if with a pump, exhale the air along with the sound “f”, sharply drawing in the stomach with each movement.

And now you can perform the exercise: take a deep breath with your nose and on an exhalation divided by three, pulling up your stomach, sharply blow out three candles on an imaginary cake. Each candle with a separate portion of air. The trick is to leave a little more air in your lungs so that you can take a gentle breath and not gasp for air. Some may divide one exhalation into 12 parts.

General relaxation. If you are nervous, take a deep breath, taking in small portions of air for 4 counts, and smoothly, in one movement, release the air. Then inhale deeply in one movement, then, breaking the already exhalation into 4 counts, push the air out in small pushes.

1) Do not rush to do everything quickly, so as not to harm yourself.

2) Look at yourself in the mirror while doing the exercises. Control the correct execution until you bring it to automatism. The brain always draws its own algorithms for performing a particular task, so you can do it wrong without knowing it.

4) Don't be afraid to articulate. Vowel sounds not only become louder, but also gain strength if you open your mouth wide.

5) Regularly say tongue twisters to different sounds. Or, for example, collect your favorite tongue twisters into one tongue twister and learn it. Speak it slowly - this way you will make your speech apparatus better, learn to pronounce the words clearly.

6) Do not strive to get the result in one day. Muscles need to be accustomed, and this will take at least 21 days.

The voice is the most important tool for communication between a person and the people around him. With it, you can both gain the trust of an opponent, and immediately push it away, making a negative impression. Exercises for the development of the voice can give it a beautiful sound and solve many problems.

Breathing exercises for the voice are practices from yoga for the development of speech breathing. The most famous is the complex developed by Alexandra Strelnikova. It is designed to train and massage the muscles involved in sound production. Exercise helps expand the lungs, increasing their volume. Particular attention is paid to the breath.

A set of exercises for beginners includes 3 main classes.

Exercise #1

We stand straight, elbows down. We take a short noisy breath - hands clenched into fists. Unclench your palms, synchronously exhaling air in any form (through your nose or mouth).

One cycle includes 4 breaths. After there is a break of 4 - 5 seconds. In total, it will be necessary to carry out 24 cycles, in each of which there are 4 inhalations-exhalations.

Important points:

  • it is not necessary to control the moment of exhalation - the main emphasis is on a noisy breath;
  • there should be no air retention during inhalation or exhalation;
  • if you feel dizzy, then the exercise can be performed while sitting (the back is strictly straight).

Exercise #2

We stand straight, palms clenched into a fist, pressed to the waist. We take a short noisy breath through the nose. At the same time, we lower our fists to the floor, unclenching our fingers. We return to the starting position. The exhalation is free, the hands return to their original position.

The cycle is equal to 8 movements. This is followed by a short rest - 3 ... 5 seconds - and a new cycle follows.

Important points:

  • while inhaling, it is necessary to strain the area of \u200b\u200bthe shoulder girdle;
  • you do not need to open your mouth wide when exhaling;
  • exercise can be done lying / sitting.

Exercise #3

Stand up straight. Lean forward slightly, round your back, head down. We take a short noisy breath through the nose, straighten our back slightly and exhale freely.

The cycle includes 8 breaths. Then a short break and repeat the cycle.

Gymnastics to improve diction and articulation

Diction is responsible for the intelligibility of speech and the clarity of words. How to develop good pronunciation? To this end, it is necessary to train the movable part of the articulatory apparatus.

Any exercise for the development of diction is a continuation of breathing exercises.

Reading with a pencil

We take a pencil with our front teeth, without touching it with our tongue. We pronounce sounds aloud, in the pronunciation of which the lips do not take part - k, g, d, n, l, d. Then we soften them. Then we add vowel sounds to them.

We read any book aloud with a pencil in our teeth. You need to voice two or three pages. You have to work every day.

The combination of certain consonants and vowels

During the exercise, you need to pronounce a combination of three consonants with one vowel. It is necessary to mix a combination of KTP sounds with vowels letters Y, O, E, I, A, U. (Example: ktpy-ktpo-ktpe-ktpi-ktpa-ktpu). The sequence of consonants can be changed, but the final sound is always a vowel.

Consonant sounds may be different - BGD, ZhRL, MLR. The vowels remain unchanged.

Working out sounds that are difficult to pronounce

Each person has his own sounds, on which he periodically “stumbles”. Most often it is R, C, L.

You need to make sentences that include problematic consonants as often as possible, and say them out loud every day, pronouncing all the letters clearly.

Pronunciation of vowels

First, we pronounce the vowels I, E, O, I, A - each 4 times - without a sound, and then out loud. The mouth is opened wide, the lower jaw moves without tension.

Reading poetry aloud

We read any verses aloud, making rolling accents on the sounds I, A, I, E, E.

Tongue Twisters

It is necessary to pronounce any tongue twisters aloud. At the beginning of classes, this should be done slowly, gradually accelerating. It is very important that the sounds are pronounced clearly and rhythmically.

You can try to start learning. By practicing every day, you will definitely master it.

nuts

Nuts in the mouth is an old method of improving diction. Even ancient speakers successfully honed their diction in this way, using pebbles instead of nuts.

You need to take a handful of nuts and put them in your mouth. Say tongue twisters out loud, clearly pronouncing all the syllables. Practice daily for 20 minutes.

The number and size of nuts is determined individually, the main thing is to make sure that you do not have a gag reflex, which will definitely interfere with the exercises.

Training the muscles of the speech apparatus

Lessons to strengthen the lower jaw include the following exercises:

  • Open your mouth and hold the lower jaw down for 5 seconds. Then slowly close your mouth.
  • We make movements with the lowered lower jaw to the right - to the left. We do them at a slow pace.
  • The lowered lower jaw is brought forward and returned to its natural position. Conducts classes at a slow pace.

Tongue muscle training is a must. Inactive, underdeveloped muscles of the tongue cause slurred speech. The exercises will be as follows:

  1. You need to roll your tongue into a tube.
  2. Stick your tongue out as far out of your mouth as you can. Make them move up-down-right-left.
  3. Lick your lips, paying particular attention to the corners of your mouth.
  4. Click your tongue actively.

Exercises must be performed at a free pace, without muscle tension.

Classes to strengthen the facial muscles and lips include the following exercises:

  • The mouth is closed. Raise/lower your lips without opening your gums. The muscles of the face should not be tense.
  • Stretch your lips in a closed smile, and then fold them into a tube.
  • Perform a lip massage: gently wrinkle the upper one with the lower teeth, and the lower one with the upper ones.
  • Fold your lips into a tube and move them left and right.

The muscles of the pharynx also need training.

  • It is necessary to repeat the sounds I, U in turn. First in a whisper, then out loud. You should feel muscle tension in the throat area. Only 15 repetitions. The exercise helps in developing the mobility of the muscles of the larynx.
  • Breathe in through clenched teeth.
  • We stretch our lips with a “duck” and draw air into ourselves.
  • Imitation of chewing food. First open, then closed. The muscles of the larynx, soft palate, tongue, lips and pharynx receive the load.

Gymnastics that develops the power of the voice

  • It is necessary to pronounce aloud pairs of syllables AM-OM, UM-EM, YM-IM. In this case, the first of them should sound loud, and the second - quieter.
  • It is necessary to voice the syllables “AY-AY-AY”, “OH-OH-OH”, “HEY-HEY-HEY” aloud in the sequence of loud-muffled-voiced.
  • It is necessary to imitate a dog's roar, a steamship whistle, a buzzing bee, a mosquito squeak. Sounds are pronounced at first in ascending order and with subsequent fading, as if the imaginary object were first approaching and then receding.
  • We sing aloud the following syllables in the form of a musical scale: MA-MO-MU-ME-WE-MI. First in order, then in the opposite direction.

Each exercise must be done 3 times. It is very important to breathe evenly.

Improving the timbre of the voice

idiosyncrasy. It is influenced by the structure of the vocal cords, the shape, and the volume of the resonators. It is impossible to change it, but to improve it by decorating with overtones is a completely solvable task.

A set of exercises that contribute to the improvement and improvement of the expressiveness of the voice timbre includes the following classes:

  • Get up. The back is straight. With your chin fixed, stretch your neck forward. Hold for two to three seconds. Then tilt your head back and hold again. Perform a series of back and forth movements until pleasant fatigue. Movements must be accompanied by the pronunciation of the words "forward - backward."
  • The mouth is open. The tongue is pushed forward, down. Tilt your head towards your chest. Pull your tongue towards your nose and, in sync with the movement, raise your head without throwing it back. Tighten your neck muscles. Run 6 - 8 times.
  • Take a deep breath. Exhaling the air, we voice the word BOM aloud (with an emphasis on the last sound) so that a clear vibration is felt in the upper lip.
  • Deep breath. At the air outlet, we pronounce the syllables MO-MOO, MU-MUU, MI-MII, ME-MEE. The first syllable sounds short and clear, the second - in a chant, drawling.
  • Starting position - standing straight, arms crossed on the chest. We make a slight tilt forward and on the exhale loudly, drawlingly pronounce the sounds U, O. Then, on the exhale, we sing the words MILK, EYE, TIN, WINDOW.
  • We pronounce the words GALYA and DOVE aloud, imitating the Ukrainian pronunciation of the sound "g". You don't need to strain your throat. The sound must come from the abdomen. We pronounce GALYA sharply, and DOVE - we pronounce it in a singsong voice. Repeat the exercise 8 times. Be sure to record the exercise on a voice recorder. This will help to understand if there is any change in the timbre of the voice.
  • Click your tongue for one minute, imitating the clatter of horse hooves. During the exercise, change the position of the lips: at first they are folded into a tube, at the end they are stretched into a wide smile.
  • The mouth is open, the nose is pinched with fingers. You need to breathe only through your mouth. At this time, it is necessary to read any text aloud.
  • The head is lowered, the chin is pressed to the chest. On the exhale, it is necessary to sound the sound O or U (o-o-o or o-o-o-o) until there is enough air. During the pronunciation of sounds, you need to lightly pat on the upper chest, strengthening the existing vibration. This timbre development exercise helps to improve the sound of chest sounds.
