What to do if the Internet does not work on the phone. Universal instruction

  • 21.10.2019

Hey! I decided to take this problem into a separate article in order to try to deal with these incomprehensible problems with Wi-Fi in Android OS together.

Moreover, one device (e.g. smartphone) who works in the operating room Android system can access the Internet, and another (eg tablet), also connects to Android, but does not go online.

I saw this problem many times in the comments, they describe it like this:

Or like this:

I think that the problem is more than clear, you can move on to solving it. Which, unfortunately, is not as clear as the problem itself 🙂 .

We solve the problem with Wi-Fi on Android

Well, or at least try to solve 🙂 .

When I answered questions that I was asked in the comments to other articles (mainly to the article on), then basically advised experiment with the mode of operation of the wireless network, or with the channel. In some cases it helped (very few people write about the results).

Well, I only have these two options. So, if your smartphone or tablet connects to your router, but the Internet does not work on it, then we do this:

  • First of all, we try to change the channel on which our network operates. Try, for example, instead of Auto, put static 6th channel. Try several options. More details in the article -. After each change, save the settings and reboot the router.
  • We are trying to change the mode of operation of the wireless network. For example, the default is probably 11bg mixed, you try 11n only. I will not write about this, see more in a separate article -.
  • In the router settings, on the tab where you configure Wi-Fi (most likely the Wireless tab), set the correct region.

Update: check if the proxy is disabled

In the comments, Alexander suggested another way that helped him get rid of this problem. And yet, Albert wrote that this method also helped the emu. So, I decided to add this information to the article.

According to Alexander, the problem was that in the smartphone settings (more precisely a specific network), manual proxy setting has been enabled. As soon as he turned off the proxy, everything immediately worked. Programs like the Play Market began to go online. Here is the comment itself:

I will show you how to turn off the proxy server on your HTC. On other devices, this process will be similar, if not exactly the same.

So we go to Settings, then choose WiFi. Click on our network (with which problems), and hold your finger a little. A menu should appear. In it we choose Change network. Next, check the box next to Advanced options. Looking for an item Proxy settings and choose a status Not (if you have it set to Manual).

I hid the screenshots under the spoiler:

Show (hide) instructions in pictures for disabling the proxy server

It is strange to start the instruction with this, but if it already works for you Mobile Internet, then there is no need to climb into the jungle of your smartphone settings and tweak something there. This text is for those who, suddenly, something went wrong.

If your smartphone is connected to the MTS network (you see MTS at the top of the smartphone screen), but you cannot load the page in the browser, or mobile app reports that there is no Internet access, let's look for a solution. Just in case, first of all, make sure that you have activated the Mobile Internet service, which opens access to ... mobile Internet. If your tariff provides for a certain package of mobile Internet, make sure that the volume of traffic allocated to you has not been exhausted - you can do this in personal account on the MTS website or using a free SMS to the number 5340 . And you can also try to go to the internet.mts.ru page from your smartphone and see everything there. If the packages are in place, or something just didn’t work out for you, let’s play some magic with the settings of your gadget.

Why do you need any settings at all?

The set of certain parameters that a smartphone “remembers” for accessing the Internet is akin to a set of keys to your apartment. Let's assume that your front door two locks. In order to get inside, you need to have two keys, one is indispensable, and any third is superfluous. You, all your household members, as well as the good neighbor woman Zoe, who kindly waters the flowers when you go on vacation, have the necessary set.

It's about the same with the internet. The first mandatory key to access the network is the SIM card of a specific operator, which is installed in your smartphone. In addition, you also need a suitable set of settings keys.

Really in the 21st century they didn’t come up with anything so that the subscriber could not think about the settings?

They figured it out, of course. Firstly, as soon as you change your phone by installing a SIM card in a new device, the necessary settings will come to you in the form of messages that you only need to save. Secondly, there is a free “Access without settings” service, which allows you to use the mobile Internet even if the gadget is not configured for some reason or is configured incorrectly.

I don't have that kind of service.

If the services Access without settings» you do not have, you can connect it yourself - dial the command on your phone in dialing mode *111*2156# and press the call button. The same service, by the way, is also responsible for the correct transmission of MMS.

No, I want to have correct settings and understand what and how.

You can "order" automatic settings in two ways. The fastest: send a blank free SMS to a special number 1234 (what will happen next - a little lower). Another way to request settings is through the MTS website, which will have to be discussed in more detail. We remember that the Internet does not work on your smartphone, and therefore use a desktop computer.

Click the Submit button.

Regardless of the way in which the settings were requested, two special messages will come to your smartphone very soon.

This is what the first one looks like for setting up mobile Internet:

Like this - the second, for MMS:

By clicking "OK" on each of them, you will automatically configure everything as it should. That's all.

Well, let's not linger. For smartphones from different manufacturers, everything is arranged differently, and therefore a very small digression. If your gadget runs on Android, then find the "Settings" item in the menu, in it - the section " Wireless networks”: usually it is at the very top. In this section, we need the item "Mobile networks" (if you do not see it, click on "More"). Inside, we make sure that data transfer is enabled at the very top. And after that, go to the "Access Point (APN)" item.

If you have an Apple gadget, go to "Settings" in the item " cellular". On the tab that opens, make sure that the “Cellular Data” option is enabled at the top. If you need to manually make a choice between 3G, 4G and GSM networks, go to the “Data Settings” item, and then to “Voice and Data”.

The window for manual settings of network parameters is hidden in the "Cellular data network" item. Here is the full path to the window where this item is: "Settings" - "Cellular" - "Data Options".

Let's write further on the example of Android. For "apple" gadgets, the setup is the same (remember about different, but the same sets of keys).

So, if you went to the "Access Point (APN)" item and inside you have nothing but the "New Access Point" line, you go there. If there are access points, but there is no point with the name MTS Internet - too.

If you already have an access point called MTS Internet, go there and check if everything is configured there as in the screenshot below. When creating a new access point, fill in all the fields according to the same screenshot. In the password field, you need to enter mts, that is, the login and password are the same.

If you use MMS, then for the correct operation of this service, you need another access point, in the same place where we just set up the mobile Internet. If it doesn't exist, create it. You need to configure it as shown in the screenshot:

To be honest, we don't know why you had to manually set everything up, but once you've done it, we're really proud of you. It's time to start using mobile Internet. Check if anything interesting has appeared on VKontakte - with a sense of accomplishment.

We all use the worldwide web, and it is not uncommon to see requests on the Internet: there is no Internet connection, why there is no Wi-Fi on the phone, why the Internet does not work on the phone, etc.

All of us have had a problem with the Internet connection on a mobile device and sometimes it ended in failure, and sometimes in success. Therefore, these tips will be relevant for any model of your mobile device. And also with any type of Internet to which you want to connect this device.

You can connect your mobile device to the Internet in two ways. They are very simple. The first is to call the operator and, following his advice, perform the algorithm of actions for connecting to the Internet in your mobile device.

The second way is to connect to the Internet manually. To do this, go to Settings and select More ..., then Mobile network. In the window that opens, select Apn access point, add a new access point that suits you, then fill in the name, apn, username and password fields. After that, you can freely use the benefits of the Internet.

There can be many reasons why a mobile phone, android or tablet cannot connect to the Internet. We will look at six main causes that you can fix yourself. Let's start:

  1. You don't have internet on your phone, check your account. Maybe you ran out of money and that's why you can't.
  2. Your mobile device itself has not registered with the network. Then you need to register it and reboot your mobile device yourself.
  3. Data transfer is in the process of being turned off, you need to call the operator and, at his prompts, connect this mobile device to the Internet.
  4. Mobile Internet does not work, you can simply be out of the operator's coverage area. Therefore, it is worth looking for a location where the signal will be picked up better and stronger. Also, the cause may be a failure and malfunctions in the mobile operator itself, which are quickly eliminated.
  5. If the mobile Internet is turned off. You need to go to Settings, find Wireless networks, and in the Advanced item find the line Mobile networks (depending on the version of the mobile device), and enable Data transfer on the phone.
  6. If the access point is configured incorrectly. You need to contact the provider's access point, get the settings data and manually connect your device to the Internet as described above.
  7. Your mobile device does not support internet connection.

If the Internet has stopped working in a smartphone, android or other mobile equipment and none of the above tips helps. It is proposed to cancel all settings and go to the original ones, which is not desirable.

To do this, you will need to contact the master at the service center, or reflash your mobile device yourself. In order to independently return the settings of the mobile device to the original ones, you need to find on the Internet how to do this and repeat it according to the proposed instructions.

Viruses are attacking!

Also, the reason for the lack of Internet may be a virus. Which has leaked into your device and does not allow it to work fully. To do this, you need to get rid of it with the help of an antivirus program. Which you need to download to your mobile device, check it for viruses and neutralize them.

Also, mobile Internet may not work on a mobile device due to a bad APN signal. This may be due to incorrect settings. To fix this problem, you need to contact an employee of the provider who can fix everything.

Pinched wires can also be the cause. Which fell under the sofa, wardrobe or they were squeezed by the door. Which can lead to a disconnection of the Internet. You need to monitor the cable that is in your apartment so as not to damage the Internet delivery to your home. The Internet may be disabled by the provider. When they break down or during bad weather conditions.

If you are having problems connecting to the Internet, check all the methods that are described in our article. We hope that our tips will help you. Good luck!

Today, the problem of not working Internet on phones is very common. Why is this happening?

This problem is popular among all operators in the Russian Federation - Megafon, Tele2, Beeline and others. But the problem may lie in the smartphone itself.

On the "Android" OS, this problem is more common. And we will provide several options for solving the problem.

1. Reasons

Let's start with the most common reasons for a broken Internet.
Here is the list:

- Zero or not at all negative account balance. In order to exclude this option, you need to check how much money is left in the account. Checking is performed on each operator in different ways. In order to find out the status of the account, you need to contact the operator using a special number. Today, SIM-cards contain numbers for checking the balance.

- Out of range. This is also a common problem. To exclude this option, pay attention to the network of your smartphone. The solution to the problem is to find a place where the network catches the best. Poor network quality can be the cause of slow Internet downloads on your phone.

clue: If the device does not pick up the network even near the signal itself, then the matter is in the phone, and the problem should be sought in itself.

Disabled " Data transfer". All modern smartphones are equipped with this option. Settings suggest turning it on and off with one tap.

But the location of this option is different, it is completely different. For example, in smartphones on the Android OS, “Data Transfer” can be found as follows:
- enter the settings;
- item "More";
- item "Mobile network";
- item "Mobile data transfer".

The location may be different, it all depends on the OS and its version.

- Automatic registration failed. This phenomenon occurs after the subscriber left the metro, or returned from where the network did not catch. In that case there is the only way problem fixes: reboot the device.
The call to restart the device occurs in different ways.

2. The settings went wrong, or were not set initially

To avoid this problem, there are two possible options problem fixes:

The first option is less labor intensive. In order to request these settings, you need to contact the operator, or enter his website. Information on the most popular of them can be found below:

Speaking of additional settings, you need to call the operator and find out how to manually or automatically set up the Internet. Most often, the settings are set automatically.

3. Manual network setup

Manually setting up a network is difficult, but possible.
An example of setting up on the Android OS is provided below:
1. In the settings, enter the “More” item, select the “Mobile network” item;
2. Find and open the item "APN access point";
3. Add a new access point, usually this is done using the "+" sign;
4. Fill in the required fields: "Name", "Username", "Password", "APN".

The values of these fields must be checked with the operator, because each network has individual values. Below is a table of values for the most popular operators:

Items may vary. It all depends on the gadget itself. There are other reasons why the Internet does not work or does not work well.

If all of the above did not help you in solving the problem, then it would be best to give the smartphone for repair, or the service center of your mobile operator.

Every year the mobile Internet is getting better and faster. However, the technology is becoming more complex, as a result of which the likelihood of failures and malfunctions is growing. Therefore, we want to tell you what to do if the mobile Internet does not work on an Android device.

There are many reasons why your phone cannot connect to the Internet in the operator's network: it may simply not be configured, or you may have experienced a hardware failure of the network module. Consider in order the causes and methods of eliminating the problem.

Reason 1: Lack of funds in the account

The most common reason for failure cellular internet There simply isn't enough money in the account. Perhaps you simply did not pay attention to it, and did not replenish it in time. Check the amount of funds by USSD request of your operator:

  • The Russian Federation: MTS, Megafon - *100#; Beeline - *102#; Tele2 - *105#;
  • Ukraine: Kyivstar, Lifecell — *111#; MTS, Vodafone - *101#;
  • Republic of Belarus: Velcom, MTS, life;) - *100#;
  • The Republic of Kazakhstan: Kcell - *100#; Beeline - *102# or *111#; Tele2 - * 111 #.

If you find that there is not enough money in your account, then simply replenish the balance in any way possible.

Reason 2: No coverage or device not registered on the network

The second reason for the lack of Internet is that you are outside the network coverage area. You can check this by looking at the indicator in the status bar: if you see a cross icon on the indicator there, then you most likely will not be able to connect to the Internet, as well as make calls.

The solution to this problem is obvious - go to a place where the network catches better. In the case when you are in a point with good reception, but the no network icon does not disappear, most likely your device is not recognized by the cell tower. This is usually a random single failure, which is easily fixed by rebooting the device.

There may also be problems with the SIM card, the main problems of which and how to fix them are described in the article below.

Reason 3: Airplane mode is on

Almost from the moment it appeared mobile phones they have a special mode designed for use in aircraft. When this mode is activated, all types of data transfer (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, communication with cellular network) are turned off. Checking this is very simple - take a look at the status bar. If you see an airplane icon instead of the network indicator, then offline mode is active on your device. It turns off very easily.

After completing these steps, check if the mobile Internet is working. Most likely, it should turn on and function normally.

Reason 4: Disabled data transfer

Another very simple reason for the lack of a mobile Internet connection. You can check this as follows.

Also, mobile data can be turned on with a switch in the status bar, if available on your phone.

We also note that in some cases, data transfer can be disrupted by malware. If you can’t turn on the Internet using the method described above, then it makes sense to install it on your phone and check the device for infection.

Reason 5: Incorrect access point settings

As a rule, when you turn on your smartphone for the first time with an inserted SIM card, you receive a configuration message with the settings of the mobile Internet access point. However, in some cases this may not happen, especially if you are using a device that is rare or not certified for your country.
